I'm trying to connect to my PC through my phones with IP Address and I have been followed these 2 posts:
Browse Web Site With IP Address Rather than localhost
Can't connect to IIS Express using IP Address
I have tried with many <bindings>
My Inbound rules:
netsh command with VS2019 run as admin but none of that work. On my PC, localhost run fine but http://192.168.1.14:44375 is not working.
steps :
1- check the IP in the listen list using the below command
netsh http show iplisten
2- in case the IP is not listed , then use the below command to add it
netsh http add iplisten 192.168.1.17
3- run F5 the visual studio now after you set your appURL
Please mark as best answer incase your problem has been solved

I need some help accessing a server that I have running on my mac. So basically my setup consists of mac on which I'm running my server and also using XCode to run the app on an iPhone connected via USB. And then both this iPhone and the mac are on the same wiFi network which is a personal hotspot that I have running on a different iPhone. I'm trying to access localhost from the iPhone by basically using my mac's IP address and the right port: http://IPADDRESS:PORT/, however this doesn't seem to work. Any ideas as to what may be going on here and potential workarounds or solutions. Connecting to a non hotspot, traditional wifi network is not an option at the moment.
Thanks!
This will work if you have it set up correctly; I am doing it right now. Remember that you have to bind the server to 0.0.0.0 — not 127.0.0.1 — if you want to connect from non-localhost IPs. Also check your system firewall.
If you're still having trouble, Tailscale is another solution that may help — https://tailscale.com
I suggest you take a look at using ngrok as a solution, this will create a secure tunnel and expose the service running on your Mac through a url.
You'll need to create an account and retrieve your auth token.
You can then install it using Homebrew by running in Terminal: brew cask install ngrok
Once installed, connect your account by typing into Terminal: ngrok authtoken [auth_token]
To start a tunnel, type into Terminal: ngrok [protocol] [port number]
For example, to start a tunnel to a HTTP server running on your mac: ngrok http 80 (or ngrok http 443 for HTTPS)
If its a custom TCP protocol use: ngrok tcp [port] (or ngrok tls [port] if using TLS)
This will then give you a URL to use in your app. On free accounts, the URL will change on each restart, paid accounts get a static URL option.
If you don't have Homebrew, download it from and follow instructions on: https://ngrok.com/download
I have installed Jenkins in Windows server 2012 64-bit machine and want to make it available in internal network.
I have added --httpListenAddress to 0.0.0.0 and restarted Jenkins and tried to access it with http://hostname:8080 but no page shows up(though It showing Jenkins icon in URL bar). However http://localhost:8080 works fine.
Further I checked the firewall inbound rule for the Jenkins but seems it has no issues.
I tried to catch the listening ports with "netstat -aon | find /i "8080" and found <host ip address>:8080 FIN_WAIT_2 which sign towards that the request is stuck(May be I am wrong).
I am clueless what exactly is blocking to use hostname with jenkins. Please share your solution if you already fixed this issue.
You might try adding a Windows Firewall rule. Go to Windows Firewall, Advanced Configuration, Inbound Rules rule and create an Allow rule for the specific version of java.exe you have installed.
This worked for us with the drawback that every time you upgrade Java, you must also modify the firewall rule. This is because Java creates a new subfolder for every version. We've tried using %JAVA_HOME% in firewall rules but it doesn't seem to work. We were on Windows Server 2012R2 at the time.

On the server open a new command prompt and type
ipconfig
You should get a list of ips. Open a browser and type each up followed by 8080 for e.g.
http://202.123.2.1:8080
If Jenkins opens up, from another computer ping the ip and see if you can get a ping reply
ping 202.123.2.1
If you get a ping reply, you can access jenkins from any pc on the network by typing in the ip and port number.
Now to get to the hostname, you need to edit your host file
c:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts
Type in the ip followed by the hostname
202.123.2.1 jenkins
If you can't get through, you need to open port 8080. See https://www.vultr.com/docs/how-to-open-a-port-in-windows-firewall-on-windows-server-2012
You cannot access from outside the machine because Jenkins Service does not have credentials to use that machine, only from localhost is accessible.
This is how to enter the credentials in Jenkins service.
In the Windows search bar, type services then enter.
Then scroll down to Jenkins and double-click on it.
In Jenkins Properties, select the tab "Log On".
Select Check box "This account"
Update your username and password.
Voila! Now Jenkins web can connect to the Jenkins machine via Jenkins service.
I have a developed a web application based on asp.net mvc 4 framework and it works fine in visual studio. since we want to launch our website to public we bought a domain from the godaddy account. And in GoDaddy -> Domains -> Manage -> we mapped the domain name to public/external IP address e.g. 178.112.24.5 ( which is different from what i get in cmd-> ipcoonfig-> shows 192.168.0.2). I guess i should use the public ip addresss not the local ip address shown in the cmd -> ipconfig.
Now i created a web site under iis-> sites-> add new site -> mynewdomain -> with protocol as http, ipaddress as unassigned(default) , port as 80 and hostname as www.mynewdomain.com . But whenever i launch this site from iis, it routes to ISP router configuration login.html page(BTW i use Rogers Internet). So it also fails to launch from other network computers and chrome shows the error as ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED.
I followed some posts on this site:
How to solve ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED when trying to connect to localhost running IISExpress - Error 502 (Cannot debug from Visual Studio)?
https://serverfault.com/questions/54623/sites-in-iis-not-available-externally
I tried to fix this by defining firewall rule for port 80 (selected domain, private and public ) , dnsflush and some suggestions from the above two links. But it didn't fix the issue.
You want host your app yourself, ok.
So:
1. To access your host from other networks you've open ports (80 for http and ) in your firewall, sure your local IP address will 192.168.0.2 and you can access your app from LAN on it. But others must get your external IP.
2. Next moment is your domain resolver, you must setup your Name Servers for your host external IP address.
Now what can you do:
First of all use DMZ for testing, it will be open all connections to your machine, but after testing setup your firewall and open only nessessary ports.
And if your internet provider gives you your external IP + not blocking connections you can host your application.
Sure this way of host your web site is not recommended because:
A. Windows 10 Home is not server OS.
B. You need minimum 100 MB/s Speed.
C. Not secured to use home router as firewall.
Hope this will help you.
I created a repository on OS X Server called myTestRepo. For HTTPS Access, I am allowing logged in users to read and write.
When I try to add this repository in Xcode, I get an error.
In repository address, if I enter
ssh://iMac/git/myTestRepo.git
I get the following error
Could not read from remote repository.
If I enter
https://iMac/git/myTestRepo.git
I get the following error
fatal: unable to access 'https://iMac/git/myTestRepo.git/': Could not resolve host:iMac
What am I doing wrong?
This could be a DNS problem in your local network:
Try substituting "iMac" with the IP adress of the computer hosting the repo:
ifconfig |grep inet
(in Terminal) will print out your local IP (e.g. 192.168.18.15).
If this doesn't help try pinging the IP / Computername (iMac) to see if you are able to connect to the computer:
ping iMac
ping 192.168.18.15
I also found a good tutorial on how to setup git Mac OSX Server. http://www.tomdalling.com/blog/software-processes/how-to-set-up-a-secure-git-server-at-home-osx/
Pay attention to the port forwarding section, did you forward ports correctly?
This question is similar to Access IIS on Windows server 2012 through wireless directly without router we tried some of the windows 8 applets to set up a shared connection but none are successful on windows server 2012.
On the 2012 server we are from command line running
netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=haxxy key=txectxec keyUsage=persistent
netsh wlan start hostednetwork
The above completes successfully and we can try to connect.
But a computer connecting is not getting assigned an ip address.. how can i get the wifi to have an ip or to offer the servers dhcp?
If i do ipconfig non the server the wireless has been assigned 192.168.173.1 - but im unsure what provided that ip address.
If i go to the server's dhcp under server bindings the 192.168.173.1 ip address is not available from there.
The http://www.connectify.me free verson worked and was nice so we bought paid version. The scripts at Dror Gluska (2012) - http://uhurumkate.blogspot.co.il/ got me close.
