I did not find any references to Reader View in any of the SDK APIs listed in the documentation. In particular, I want to enter Reader View automatically, on page load, as long as a toggle button in my add-on is checked. How can I send this message to the browser?
To enter reader view, all you have to do is change the tab's URL to about:reader?url={siteURL}, where {siteURL} would be replaced with the URL to the page you want the reader to display.

I have a iOS app that wraps a website. When the user clicks a link in the wrapped website, I want to trap the event in my app and be able to get information about the link that was clicked. Is this something that can be done in Swift?
I'm relatively new to iOS app development and I'm working on an app that has been around for a while.
The short answer is "Yes". There are a couple of views that you can use in iOS to display web content. One such view is WKWebView.
If you look at the documentation at that link, close to the bottom of the page you will find a header for "Managing Navigation Through your Web Content".
What you do is create a WKNavigationDelegate that you attach to your WKWebView. That delegate is notified when the user wants to navigate through the web content (for example, when they click on a link) and lets your application code participate in the navigation process. It can allow navigation, deny navigation, find out when it starts and stop, things of that nature.
When you click on a url from a native app such as the Twitter or Facebook app, a new panel comes up to display the page. When you X out the panel, you are still in the app at the location from where you launched the url. How is this done as opposed to launching the url in an instance of Safari ?
You can use either WKWebView or SFSafariViewController
SFSafariViewController is now widely used to view websites and it looks just like Safari.app (the user can access his saved passwords/cards, and he can use reader view), the problem is that you don't have any control over it.
WKWebView is a replacement for UIWebView and you will have a better control over it but you'll have to add your own navigation and refresh buttons and title bar.
UIWebView. Here is a link to apples developer reference

I am Using Vaadin Framework in my application. I want to open a popup screen using Vaadin Link. I know to open popup thrugh button but I need to open popup through Link. Can anybody help, this is my code:
Link link1 = new Link(String.valueOf(rs.getInt(1)), new ExternalResource("#"));
_reportTable.getItem(dashboardDataRowId)
.getItemProperty("todo").setValue(link1);
As explained in in Book of Vaadin - Components - Link, Link should be used only for hyperlinks to external resources, as it is nothing more than a wrapper for a anchor html tag and as such it does not fire any server side events. As a result you cannot react on server side to open a popup window or do some other logic.
The Link is a regular HTML hyperlink, that is, an anchor
element that is handled natively by the browser. Unlike when clicking
a Button, clicking a Link does not cause an event on the server-side.
What you really want is vaadin button styled as a hyperlink. You can do it by creating a regular button (which supoorts server side events and can open your popup) and then adding an appropriate style.
Button linkButton = new Button();
linkButton .setStyleName(BaseTheme.BUTTON_LINK);
Always be sure to call addStyleName() instead of setStyleName() as it only adds your new style to the list of other styles already present and it does not override that list with your only new style.
I have a requirement to create a ipad app that supports tab to view content. I have created a custom splitview controller, whenever user goes to a particular section in the left section, the contents related to that will be displayed in the content view(right view). If a user selects a particular link in that content view it should open a tab and display the contents of that link in that new view. Similar to Web Browser tabs i need to handle tabs in this app. Please suggest any available open source component or any ideas to implement tabbing inside a ipad app.
You can use Three20 for your tab purpose. Also there are many open Source components available. You just need to search in google.
I have a BrowserField in my application displaying a webpage.
Is there a way to detect browser navigation when user clicking on one link in the webpage and move to another webpage?
http://www.blackberry.com/developers/docs/4.6.0api/net/rim/device/api/browser/field/BrowserContentChangedEvent.html
Not sure if this will trigger it however if you look at the api you can see all your options.
Let me know if you find it.
