With collapsible sets, there are a few attributes that you can use to define the icon in the collapsible item's various states, for example:
data-collapsed-icon="arrow-down" data-expanded-icon="arrow-up"
Does anyone know if there are similar attributes available for the listview widget? I'd like to set an attribute to use a specific icon when the listview item is set to active.
I'm not sure whether such attributes like collapsible's but, you can do like this:
$('#yourpage').live('pagebeforeshow',function(e,data){
$("li").tap(function() {
$(this).buttonMarkup({ icon: "myicon" });
});
});

How can I adjust the position of Select2 container so that the search box is position right over the original select element like in this website
http://www.jobnisit.com/en
It look cleaner in terms of UI in my opinion.
Ps. sorry, I can't post the image now.
There is 2 ways to do this.
1) With css:
.select2-dropdown--below {
top: -2.8rem; /*your input height*/
}
This will not affect a container (.select2-container), but will move dropdown and search field, so you will have a desired effect.
2) With js:
$('select').select2().on('select2:open', function() {
var container = .$('.select2-container').last();
/*Add some css-class to container or reposition it*/
});
This code attaches a handler to 'select2:open' event, which will be fired every time when user opens a dropdown. This method is better if you have more than one select on page.
Tested with select2 4.0.0
The proper way of positioning the dropdown is using the core feature provided by select2 plugin.
It provides us with 'dropdownParent' property to place to dropdown inside the particular element
select field: #edit-field-job-skillsets-tid
parent item: div.form-item-field-job-skillsets-tid
jQuery("#edit-field-job-skillsets-tid").select2(
{dropdownParent: jQuery('div.form-item-field-job-skillsets-tid')}
);
I want to be able to select a listview item. On select/click I can use onclick event and add class to that li. But, is there any default way in which I can select an item in the listview. I mean, when I select, it should be highlighted and I should be able to get the selected value.
The jQM listview widget does not include any default functionality for a highlighted/selected item. Your approach of
handling the click,
adding a class, and
storing the currently
selected item in a global or data-attribute
is a good way to go.
I have a kendo ui grid on my page.
And I have a button too. I want when I click button, sortable property on a specify column disable, and when click the button again, sortable property enable.
How to I do this?
Thanks.
Runtime enabling/disabling the sorting feature of the Grid is not supported.
But you can find some approaches to achieve it here: http://www.telerik.com/forums/disable-or-remove-sortable-capability-on-column-with-rebuilding-entire-grid
Hope this link will help you.
There is no method for this - this is option which is set only upon initialziation. So you will need to re-initialize the whole Grid. Covered here.
The column.sortable option should be set to true/false depending on the button that was clicked.
You need to write an click event for a table header on javascript.This event will prevent click on table header.
$(".k-grid-header .k-link").click(function (e) {
e.preventDefault();
if ($(this).text() === Header Name) {
e.stopPropagation();
}
});
e.PreventDefault helps to avoid window jump to top when clicking #-links.
Give your headername into the if condition to which you want to disable sorting
Working on making a very standard dropdown menu with the new jquery ui 1.9 menu widget, but having some problems due to the newness of the widget and the presence of only a single extremely basic example at jqueryui.com
Specifically, can anyone here help me to:
Initialize a widget with no icons for submenus? (Default is a right-facing carat and I can't get rid of it)
Make a menu where user has to click on the top menu item (as opposed to just hovering) to make the submenu appear? Any deeper submenus should then expand when the user's pointer hovers over them. This is typical dropdown behavior, e.g., user clicks "edit" to make options appear like "select" or "undo", but any further choices under (for example) "select" would apper just by hovering over "select". I hope that's clear.
Thanks
I don't know how to do the second part of your question but I can answer the first question.
You can change the default icon by setting the icon option of the menu option.
First add a class to your CSS file like this.
.no-icon { display:none;}
Then set the icon option when you create the menu.
$( "#menu" ).menu(
{ icons: { submenu: "no-icon" } }
);
You won't have any icons.
Here is a fiddle
I have three radio buttons which have the same theme in jquery. If I select one of them, the color of the button will change to the color specified in my .ui-btn-active class in the css. My radio buttons are named Can meet, not sure and Decline. I want my Decline radio button to have a different color than the two others when it is selected (the color red).
I'm using Jquery mobile and have customized the css for which colors I want to have on the different themes and I have changed the .ui-btn-active to .ui-btn-active-a and .ui-btn-active-b and made them with different values. I have tried to switch between the two ui-btn-active classes without no luck, and I have tried the addClass(..) and removeClass(..) without luck. I made a method in my jquery-mobile.js which look like this:
$.mobile.changeAction = function( activeBtn){
$.mobile.activeBtnClass = activeBtn;
}
where my activeBtn parameter will be a string to choose which activeBtnClass I want to have. I think the problem is that I have problems refreshing the activeBtnClass after overriding it, I have tried some refreshing methodes without no luck.
As long as the radio buttons have different colors when active I will be very thankful.
Following styles should do the trick:
.ui-radio:nth-child(1) .ui-icon-radio-on.ui-icon{
background-color:green;
}
.ui-radio:nth-child(2) .ui-icon-radio-on.ui-icon{
background-color:grey;
}
.ui-radio:nth-child(3) .ui-icon-radio-on.ui-icon{
background-color:red;
}
Sample jsfiddle.
To style Horizontally stacked select options:
.ui-radio:nth-child(1) .ui-radio-on span.ui-btn-inner{
background-color:green;
}
.ui-radio:nth-child(2) .ui-radio-on span.ui-btn-inner{
background-color:grey;
}
.ui-radio:nth-child(3) .ui-radio-on span.ui-btn-inner{
background-color:red;
}
Sample jsfiddle.
Why not just create custom themes for all of the states that you might want? You can have multiple custom themes, and only use them when you'd like. I have 7 themes in my CSS, and this way you can always incorporate them later if you'd like without having to do so much custom coding.
You can just apply the theme with the data-theme="f" (or other letter swatch) element attribute.
Here's jQuery ThemeRoller 1.1.1 http://jquerymobile.com/themeroller/index.php. If you're just making small changes to the theme, such as an active state, just copy the theme, and make the changes and save as a new swatch. You can go from A-Z :)
