I have a mvc4 project that I have published to azure through a publish profile that I use by right clicking my main project and go publish.
All this works great and has for a while.
But now I need to debug the app so I installet the azure tools and according to tutorials I should then have my application under "Windows Azure Compute" in server tab. I do not there is nothing under there.
If I select "Add Deployment Environment" I can click a link that says download publish settings file so I did and I got the file. When i then import it, it looks like this: http://db.tt/JkJsT3Hl
however if I now click the little arrow next to 3-Month Free Trial the arrow simply disappear. There is nothing there.
I noticed that the publich settings file I had since before was not at all the same as this new one I got now. I could not use the old one here.
I also noticed that a new Certificate showed up on the azure page like so: http://db.tt/KoqNXwUp
I should mention that before it said upload a .cer file, something i never did.
Okay thats all I know.
I had missed that azure toolkit comes with a emulator (system tray)
enabled that and created a web role (right click project and chose create azure role)
and now i can debug in the emulator on my local machine and so far it has worked brilliant.
Beware that it can require you to run visual as admin to work.

Im using Flutter on Windose to create an app for Android & IOS.
I use Codemagic to build and sign my app for Apple. The first version was ok and is live on the App Store.
But I need to implemant Sign In with Apple for the next version.
Im using this package : https://pub.dev/packages/sign_in_with_apple
it, and it works good on android, a webpage opens and I can login and get back user session..
For Apple, compilation is fine, it is pushed on Apple servers and I get the app on Testflight, but impossible to make it works, the login page is never called.
As I understand, I need to ad the "Sign in with Apple" capability.
But without XCode, I cant figure how to do that!!
Is it possible to edit the info.plist, or another file, to add this capability?
I have build and change already all the certificates, profiles... on apple console, to add the Sign In with Apple, but same result!
Thanks by advance!
with Codemagic you can connect to a build machine and use Xcode to update project settings and push the changes back to the repository.
Install VNC Viewer on your machine
Start a new build (I'd recommend using Mac Pro instance type as Xcode requires more resources)
When the build has started, click Explore build machine above the build steps to see the instructions for setting up VNC access. Use the given Host, Port, Username and Password on your VNC client to establish the connection.

i'm trying to configure fabric in my iOS application
I have idea that we need to enter api key in application and have to download fabric' framework. The problem is i don't know how to get APi key.
I've created account on fabric, but don't know how to proceed. Unable to see Dashboard over there. Kindly help me how to do it. I'm stuck on this screen (screen shot below).
I've added xcode sdk and can see fabric app in my mac. But what about 3rd step. i think it's the main step and may be i will be able to get api key from here. but how to navigate to that.
Thanks,
I don't know what was the issue with project. i cloned it from another one and deleted fabric Api key from info.plist. Something was causing issue.
How i fixed it:
i created a new project. Made account on fabric. Installed its xcode plugin. The plugin gave me the option to choose project, i selected mine. Afterwards, it guided me step by step i.e adding run script etc and added fabric api keys in my info.plist on its own. Now it's working fine.
i was worried that why dashboard is not displayed on fabric.io, it was no issue at all. Once i configured fabric in my project, the dashboard appeared on fabric.io as well
The easiest way to add fabric to your app is via the desktop app, Click on "New app" and follow the instructions
I got the following error when creating an azure web app:
Creation of Microsoft Azure Web App with sql server failed
I know what the issue is, but i dont know how to go back, change the settings and retry to create the web app. Can anyone advise how i do this?
Per your comment, did you try editing the publish profile and correct the settings that where incorrect?
You can edit the publish profile found under "Properties". It is an XML file that contains all the settings for publishing your site.
More information can be found here: How to: Edit Deployment Settings in Publish Profile (.pubxml) Files and the .wpp.targets File in Visual Studio Web Projects
We've just been developing an update for our iOS application where we need to open up a web view and display a web page hosted on a 3rd party site. This has worked locally when building directly to a device using xCode, the application works as expected; the web page loads and we can interact with it as expected. However, if we build the application and deploy to test flight, on the same device the webview functionality no longer works. Everything else works as expected but when the webview opens it just stays blank - the web page doesn't load/display. It's the same device, the same code base and same 3rd party link, so the only difference is the provisioning profile we're using (dev vs ad-hoc). Looking in application services I can't see any thing that looks like we should be setting (in fact our dev/ad-hoc provisioning profiles have the same settings). We are looking to see if there is any event we can hook into to get more detail but the application isn't crashing. Has anyone come across something similar before or point us in a direction/area that could help throw more light on the problem (might be searching for the wrong thing, but not found anything on google / stackoverflow).
In the end this appears to be down to a difference in the execution of the code when built and when deployed (maybe deployed is faster). We traced that all the relevant calls were being made using Charles proxy and looking in somme logging we had running on the web server. To try and find out where the code was getting to we added "alert boxes" - with these in place both versions displayed the web page correctly (locally built and deployed through test flight). As we couldn't leave the alert boxes in :) the solution was to move where we set up the web call and also to programmatically create the web view, rather than using one attached to the XIB. Still haven't got to the bottom of what exactly was happening.
We have developed an application for 8830 Device and its working fine.
The problem that we are facing now is that, we are unable to delete the application from the device.
We selected the application, pressed the menu button, but dont find any delete option.
We went to the applications list, through advanced options, but surprisingly we dont see our application in that that applications list(By Deploying the same application in higher devices such as 9630 and 9550,9800) we see a delete option, by pressing menu and also see our application in the options->application list.
We went to modules, and identified the modules of the application, but there also we were not able to find the delete option in it.
We also tried using the blackberry desktop software too, but in vain, we dont find our application in that list too
** The current device we are using is not configured with any BES(We are registered with the BIS) And moreover, we are able to delete the yahoo messenger, gtalk, twitter from the mobile except our application(It just behaves like some shortcut).
Do we need to add some extra lines of code in any class so that it gets identified as an application.Kindly help on this.
Thanks in advance,
Dheeraj Jami
Usually when an application installed via BB Desktop Manager + .alx file or wirelessly (Browser + jad file) the application is listed in the applications list and can be deleted by end-user without any problems.
But if the application installed via javaloader or cod file created automatically via RIM SDK then the application won't be listed in the application list.
The working way to delete unwanted cod file(s) is using javaloader.exe that comes with JDE distribution package.
Connect your device to the desktop computer via usb-cable and type the command in command line, when you are in folder where javaloader.exe located:
javaloader -usb erase -f unwantedfile.cod
and press Enter
Do we need to add some extra lines of code in any class so that it gets identified as an application.
No, you don't. From my experience it just happens sometimes with BlackBerries. In this case the only way to get rid of it is to pull the battery out of the device. This action resets the device to its factory state (all apps installed by user will be lost).
