osx homebrew elasticsearch service Bootstrap failed: 5: Input/output error - ruby-on-rails

This is running on an OSX M1 laptop, and if I try to run the elastic by typing elasticsearch it works just fine. So far it appears it is only the services.
Anyone run into this and know how to fix? I have been at this for hours now.
Warning: Calling plist_options is deprecated! Use service.require_root instead.
Please report this issue to the elastic/tap tap (not Homebrew/brew or Homebrew/homebrew-core), or even better, submit a PR to fix it:

CRASH! Same errors as the first method.
I recently had the same issue, but had a fix. I hope this works for you.
Here is what I did:
Install steam from the steam website. https://store.steampowered.com/about/
Run this line in a terminal STEAM_RUNTIME=0 steam
You should get a line telling you the missing dependencies
Running Steam on ubuntu 20.04 64-bit
STEAM_RUNTIME is disabled by the user
Error: You are missing the following 32-bit libraries, and Steam may not run:
libXtst.so.6
libXrandr.so.2
libXrender.so.1
libgobject-2.0.so.0
libglib-2.0.so.0
libgio-2.0.so.0
libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0
libpulse.so.0
libgdk_pixbuf-2.0.so.0
libva.so.2
libbz2.so.1.0
libvdpau.so.1
libva.so.2
libva-x11.so.2
Can't find 'steam-runtime-check-requirements', continuing anyway
/home/timothy/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/steam
Once you get the missing dependencies run this line in the terminal for every missing dependency. sudo apt install (Dependency name)
EXAMPLE (sudo apt install libXtst.so.6)
"libXtst.so.6" was part of the list of dependencies that was given to me by the terminal
Once you installed all those dependencies steam should open up.
Let steam install what it needs to and login in, it should work
If you have any issues just leave a reply.

As #Helper Shoes mentioned, it is highly probable that you have missing 32 bit libraries.
Installing the following libraries made it work for me:
$ sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386
$ sudo apt update
$ sudo apt install libxtst6:i386 libxrandr2:i386 libgtk2.0-0:i386 libsm6:i386 libpulse0:i386 ffmpeg:i386

brew cask install meld: 'cannot import GTK+': what's wrong with my library?

I tried to install meld on my iMac running OS/X 10.13.1 High Sierra.
brew cask install meld
and homebrew completed without error, but when I tried to run it I saw
$ meld check1ping.sh check2pings.sh
frozen: ImportError
Cannot import: GTK+
dlopen(/Applications/Meld.app/Contents/Resources/lib/python2.7/gi/_gi.so, 2): Symbol not found: _inflateValidate
Referenced from: /System/Library/Frameworks/ImageIO.framework/Versions/A/Resources/libPng.dylib
Expected in: /Applications/Meld.app/Contents/Frameworks/libz.1.dylib
in /System/Library/Frameworks/ImageIO.framework/Versions/A/Resources/libPng.dylib
I note the questions How do I fix melds 'Cannot import: GTK+' error caused by missing 'gi.repository'? and Meld error "Cannot import: GTK+; No module named repository" but this problem seems to be different.
I found this page which suggests that /Applications/Meld.app/Contents/Frameworks/libz.1.dylib is out of date. This is what I saw in /Applications/Meld.app/Contents/Frameworks:
-rwxr-xr-x 1 myusername staff 127692 4 May 2016 libz.1.2.8.dylib
lrwxr-xr-x 1 myusername staff 16 16 Nov 15:24 libz.1.dylib -> libz.1.2.8.dylib
Looking for a replacement, I found:
lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 12 11 Nov 09:57 /usr/lib/libz.1.1.3.dylib -> libz.1.dylib
lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 12 11 Nov 09:57 /usr/lib/libz.1.2.11.dylib -> libz.1.dylib
lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 12 11 Nov 09:57 /usr/lib/libz.1.2.5.dylib -> libz.1.dylib
lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 12 11 Nov 09:57 /usr/lib/libz.1.2.8.dylib -> libz.1.dylib
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 186432 25 Oct 17:37 /usr/lib/libz.1.dylib
lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 12 11 Nov 09:57 /usr/lib/libz.dylib -> libz.1.dylib
and when I replaced the libz.1.dylib in my meld app with this one, everything magically worked.
My question is: how do I fix homebrew so that it picks up the correct version of the library, so future users don't have this problem?
I see that brew cask cannot build from source and always installs from a binary, so I'm a bit surprised that it seems to have the wrong library version. I found the meld ruby file but am none the wiser. I know nothing about specifying brew or cask builds, I'm afraid.
Thanks!
Not sure if this qualifies as an answer, but here goes. First, thanks for identifying the cause of the problem, as it is one that affected me too after upgrading to MacOS High Sierra. I am not a homebrew expert, so this "answer" just formalises what you found...
unlink /Applications/Meld.app/Contents/Frameworks/libz.1.dylib
ln -s /usr/lib/libz.1.dylib /Applications/Meld.app/Contents/Frameworks/libz.1.dylib
The first line removes the symbolic link to the Meld's local libz.1.dylib (127692 bytes, dated 4 May 2016) which seemed to be at version 1.2.8. The next line recreates that symbolic link, but pointing to the global (GTK+) libz.1.dylib (186432 bytes, dated 25 October 2017), possibly version 1.2.11.
Hopefully the homebrew Meld cask maintainer will introduce a proper fix, but in the meantime, running those two commands in a terminal fixes this particular Meld problem so that Meld can run under MacOS High Sierra.
This is now fixed upstream. All you need to do is to update the Meld cask.
Updating is a bit counterintuitive. To update the list of available casks you use brew update, not brew cask update, but to upgrade casks to the new version you use brew cask upgrade, not just brew upgrade.
So the correct sequence to update all installed casks is:
brew update
brew cask upgrade

Can't connect to Neo4j server locally on Ubuntu VPS

Recently I've reinstalled my VPS and have a fresh install of Neo4j on it.
I'm using putty to connect from my machine, tunneling port 7474 as I've done in the past. I'm new to Neo4j 3.2 and am getting this error when I try to connect to the server on the Neo4j browser:
N/A: WebSocket connection failure. Due to security constraints in your
web browser, the reason for the failure is not available to this Neo4j
Driver.
After trying a lot of different suggestions for sort of related topics I ended up allowing remote connections and discovered that when I access remotely eg. http://my_vps_ip:7474/browser/ I have no issues at all.
This is the output of neo4j status:

Any ideas why this might be happening?
Please ensure that public access to 7687 port is enabled in your
'neo4j.conf' file. In the latest version, it should be two line in your 'neo4j.conf':
dbms.connector.bolt.enabled=true
dbms.connector.bolt.listen_address=0.0.0.0:7687
That is because neo4j's bolt protocol takes 7687 port.
Also ensure your expose 7687 in your instance to public, if you are using AWS EC2, choose protocol to be TCP because bolt is based on TCP.
If you are using Docker/k8s, also ensure that you expose all ports(7474,7473,7687 by default) in your containers or k8s service.
There is a neo4j knowledge base article is about this exact issue.
Quote:
This error can be resolved by editing the file
$NEO4J_HOME/conf/neo4j.conf and uncommenting:
# To have Bolt accept non-local connections, uncomment this line:
