When viewing Chromatic as part of our merge requests finding actual meaningful diffs is like finding a needle in a haystack.
Highcharts has their weird variation where the position of parts (e.g. lines) seems to vary ever so slightly.
We've tried Chromatic settings for:
Tolerances (but that causes issues with missing actual small changes)
Delays (still didn't work, still seeing variation)
We can conditionally use our Chromatic flag to configure Highcharts if there's a potential solution there but we have no idea what that is.
Other teams at our company have done away with visual diffs entirely due to this issue it's pretty absurd and annoying!

Apologies if the title isn't very clear.
What I am trying to do is get a google sheet to automatically calculate how many lengths of a material I will need to cover an area, hopefully to include a mix if needed. There are three different lengths of material that never change, but the total area I need to cover changes on a case by case basis. It is only a straight line so there is no need to worry about width or height.
The data breaks down as follows:
Pre-set lengths to choose from
10'6"
12'6"
14'6"
Length of area I need to cover only comes in inches (ie. 68 1/2"; 70"; 59")
The only thing I have been successful in doing is getting the length I need to cover and then manually picking out how many pieces of each length I need, but I cannot think of any way for me to have a formula or script optimize how many of each piece I need. I can understand formulas well enough, but once trying to script anything comes into play I start getting lost. I believe this issue may be beyond the capabilities of formulas.
This is an interesting problem - I don't have the 'reputation' required to comment, but to be clear: you're actually trying to find the 'best fit' of the available lengths to cover the required length?
If that's the case then yes, you're not going to get there without scripting. Fortunately, there are other folks who have this problem and have solved it... you could look at this online cut-list calculator for an example. I think that one even includes an embeddable script for your sheets.
If you're looking to solve the problem yourself because it's interesting, googling 'optimal cut list' or the like will turn up references. Usually you're optimizing on two variables (e.g. 'fewest joins' and 'least waste'), which tips you over into the world of linear programming (only just...) if you want to go there. If it were me, I'd just dig up a few example scripts and map how they operate back to a theoretical description (e.g. this wiki article.)
I am trying to get the Quickchart Wordcloud API to work, however, I get very spread apart and small text.
This used to work fine (I tested it a few weeks ago), but something seems to have changed to cause the issue you can test below.

I maintain this API and want to apologize for the trouble you encountered over the last few weeks. This should be fixed now with no action required on your end.
Some background on the trouble: the underlying library, d3-cloud, is a bit finicky and under certain conditions it will not show top words if they are too large. We attempt to resolve this by sizing the words explicitly, but this can be imprecise because we do not have full rendering information. In the long term, I'd like to move to a more robust rendering library but for now we're tuning the workaround.

I am getting this message when I try to index using elasticsearch. I have tried both the elasticsearch-rails gem and searchkick gem. We are making creation and editing of e-courses online.

I can index from my dev machine using curl without signing and also I can index through kibana sitting on the instance. I can index 1000s of words. I test around 10,000
If you can shed any light on the matter I would be most grateful.
After removing the "faraday_middleware-aws-sigv4" gem and then running 'bundle clean --force'. I then added it back in and it is now indexing properly without the signing failure.
I'm in the process of creating a game using MonoGame and a fork-of-a-fork of Farseer Physics (https://github.com/alundgren04/Aether.Physics2D) and trying to push the physics to be able to process a very large world. In doing so, the on-screen statistics are invaluable: https://github.com/alundgren04/Aether.Physics2D
Many of these came with the physics engine, and others I had to add. I'm wondering if there's something similar for MonoGame. Something which would show each frame how many polygons were rendered, how many sprites, etc., and how long each took. This would be analogous to the physics info where it lists both the number of "Bodies," "Fixtures," "Joints," etc., and the time it took to up date each of them.

I see the total physics update time is around 3-5ms yet the game only appears to be rendering perhaps once a second or so (1 fps). This points to the rendering being the bottleneck in performance, and I would like to have thorough diagnostics before beginning the optimization effort. I could build it myself, and may end up doing so, but I'm hoping there's a built-in solution I can at least use as a foundation.

GraphicsDevice.Metrics returns rendering information when you draw. It's reset whenever Present is called. While it doesn't mention how long everything took, it still contains information that should help with debugging your issue.
Does it happen that no one ever needs histogram in Delphi ?
Google gave me a bunch of half-baked code snippets. But it means that each time you need one - you have to invent one more ad hoc bycicle.
Torry mostly told me about some very expensive closed source Math Statistics or Financial packages, that as a subproduct have histograms. But they are very expensive and since you have no source code, each time you install update onto IDE/RTL/VCL you're probably screwed, until the vendor would make (soon ? ever?) updated packages. Given thatvendor is still does exists.

Mitov.com provides some histograms in PlotLab. which told to be free for non-commercial. Alas, it is again closed-source, and if the Histogram - quite fancy let's admit -is the onlything i need from it - why pay the whole price ?

Just few years ago i used it in Delphi 5, but even then i felt the author is loosing interest in the project. I made few enhancement, fixed some bugs, he merged them and that's all. The component was not very useful and lacked upon features, yet better than nothing. Now the project seems to be completely dead. Good old days, etc. But i do not want them back :-)
And Stack Overflow seemingly carries no single question about it. But maybe just no one bothered to create topic, after search found nothing ? I mean, Delphi was created for database access, histograms are one of basic ways to visualize data, and no one crosses them ? Something with nice style, with rich mouse tooltip like in HTML/CSS/JS on http://www.moskva.fm/stations/FM_95.2 ?
Or is this too domain-related and not ever possible to have good abstraction ?
TChart is a control that ships with most versions of Delphi. TChart can be used to make histograms (bar charts) in style. If you need something with code, google the pages at delphiforfun.org/programs/oscilloscope.htm . These are not controls. The oscilloscope article has a histogram with source. Some of the other projects at the site have other histogram graphs with source..not elegant but useful and free. Use them as a template to make your own control.

Found this thread while doing some searching. The ImageEn component suite has a THistogramBox component. It's the NOT prettiest thing in the world, but it's the only one I've found so far.
