CSS Pseudo Selector :active in React and Static Html displays differently on Iphone chrome browser

I've recently come across this issue that
pseudo selector :active doesn't display the same on React and Static page.
this is what I apply

Adding display:inline-block to :before or :after will make webfont disappear

I am using a web font in an :after pseudo class. It shows fine on Desktop Chrome and Android Chrome but on iOS Chrome and Safari (iOS 7.1.2, 9.2.1 and 9.3.1) it disappears unless I comment out both display:inline-block and position:absolute where it then shows the icon immediately to the right with no width.
#font-face {
font-family: 'myFont';
src: url('/channels/myFontFolder/fonts/myFont.eot');
src: url('/channels/myFontFolder/fonts/myFont.eot?#iefix') format('embedded-opentype'),
url('/channels/myFontFolder/fonts/myFont.woff2') format('woff2'),
url('/channels/myFontFolder/fonts/myFont.woff') format('woff'),
url('/channels/myFontFolder/fonts/myFont.ttf') format('truetype'),
url('/channels/myFontFolder/fonts/myFont.svg#my_Font') format('svg');
font-weight: normal;
font-style: normal;
text-rendering: optimizeLegibility;
}
h2 {
padding: 10px;
cursor: pointer;
margin: 0;
border: none;
border-top: 1px solid $table-row-border-colour;
background: none;
font-size: $body-fontSize;
position: relative;
}
h2:after {
content: "\e101";
font-family: myFont;
display: inline-block;
position: absolute;
background: none;
color: green;
font-size: 20px;
width: 20px;
height: 20px;
border: 1px solid red;
right: 0;
top: 0;
}
It's working fine on another element with, as far as I can tell, the same styling applied.
Any help would be appreciated!
Fixed it, needed to add font-weight: bold

The slider is no longer overflowing, the widht is not working, even the menu buton is gone and the nav is always showing, please i need some help with this, is there some code to add so this can work on IOs movile devices?
I been looking the internet for hours trying to find the solution, i found something that includes this code:
-webkit-appearance: none;
But nothing happens everything looks bad.Thanks in advance.
You are using CSS properties that need to be prefixed in order to work in -webkit browsers, even in newer versions, such as display:flex, justify-content, transition, flex-direction,...
The practical solution is to write normal (up to date) CSS and than run it through a tool that will add the necessary prefixes for making it compatible with most browsers. It's called auto-prefixing and you can read more about it here. Good auto-prefixing tools are connected to caniuse and can be configured for various specific needs (prefix for last three versions from each browser, or prefix for all browsers with an above X usage percentage, or combinations between the two).
Here are the auto-prefixed versions of your project's CSS files. Replace assets/css/header.css with:
*{
margin: 0;
padding: 0;
-webkit-appearance: none;
}
header{
z-index: 1000;
position: fixed;
width: 100%;
font-family: "roboto";
background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.7);
}
#btn-menu{
display: none;
}
header label{
display: none;
height: 30px;
width: 30px;
padding: 10px;
}
header label:hover{
cursor: pointer;
background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.8);
}
.menu ul{
margin: 0;
list-style: none;
padding: 0;
display: -webkit-box;
display: -webkit-flex;
display: -ms-flexbox;
display: flex;
-webkit-box-pack: end;
-webkit-justify-content: flex-end;
-ms-flex-pack: end;
justify-content: flex-end;
}
.menu li:hover{
background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.8);
}
.menu li a{
display: block;
padding: 20px 20px 10px 20px;
color: #fff;
text-decoration: none;
}
#media (max-width: 768px) {
header label {
height: 60px;
width: 60px;
padding: 10px;
display: block;
}
.menu{
position: absolute;
background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.7);
width: 30%;
margin-left: -30%;
-webkit-transition: all 0.3s;
transition: all 0.3s;
}
.menu ul{

-webkit-flex-direction: column;
-ms-flex-direction: column;
flex-direction: column;
}
#btn-menu:checked ~ .menu{
margin: 0;
}
}
And assets/css/body.css with:
*{
margin: 0;
padding: 0;
box-sizing: border-box;
-webkit-appearance: none;
}
body{
z-index: 500;

position: relative;
margin: auto;
width: 100%;
max-width: 1920px;
overflow: hidden;
}
.slider{
text-align: center;
display: -webkit-box;
display: -webkit-flex;
display: -ms-flexbox;
display: flex;
width: 400%;
}
.slider .section{
display: block;
height:100%;

}
.slider img{

Positioning of jQuery UI select dropdown is off by 1px in Chrome only

I have been trying to get my jQuery UI Select dropdown to be aligned on Chrome for some time. Its off by 1px however the list and the parent span.ui-selectmenu-button are both "151px".
All other browsers display it correct.
I've been going through the computer styles one by one but can't find anything.
Its instantiated with the common:
$("#mainlanguage").selectmenu();
And the select box which jQuery uses has basic styling on it. (SCSS)
jquery ui language !select
.mainSearch{
.ui-selectmenu-button {
background:$upsbrown;
outline-style:none!important; // reset
&.ui-state-hover{
border:0;
border-radius:0;
}
border:0;
border-radius:0;
left: 63.3%;
span{
background-color: $upsbrown;
background-position: 93.5% center;
//border-top: 1px solid $navtext;
color: $navtext;
font-size: 11px;
line-height: 18px;
position: relative;
padding-left: 6px;
max-width: 151px;
height: 21px;
z-index: 400;
webkit-appearance: none;
-moz-appearance: none;
appearance: none;
&:focus{
-webkit-appearance: none;
-moz-appearance: none;
appearance: none;
}
}
}
}

CSS Font Mysterious (4me) Issue

I've a CSS question. I'm using Rails 3.0 and trying to design a site of mine. I found this anoying problem previously also but now is the time to find a solution.
The situation: I set up a CSS like this:
* {margin: 0;padding: 0;}
body {background-color: #1d1122; font:12px/18px Arial, Tahoma, Verdana, sans-serif #fff; width: 100%;}
a {color: blue; outline: none; text-decoration: underline;}
a:hover {text-decoration: none;}
p {margin: 0 0 18px}
img {border: none;}
input {vertical-align: middle;}
#wrapper {width: 955px; margin: 0 auto;}
/* Header
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------*/
#header {background: transparent url(../images/header.jpg) no-repeat; height: 413px;}
#navigation {background: transparent url(../images/menu_bg.jpg) no-repeat; height:36px;}
/* Middle
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------*/
#middle {width: 100%; height: 1%; position: relative;}
#middle:after {content: '.'; display: block; clear: both; visibility: hidden; height: 0;}
#container {background: transparent url(../images/main_bg.jpg) no-repeat; width: 100%; float: left; overflow: hidden;}
#content {padding: 0 270px 0 0;}
/* Sidebar Right
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------*/
#sideRight {float: left; margin-right: -3px; width: 313px; margin-left: -313px; position: relative;}
/* Footer
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------*/
#footer {background: transparent url(../images/footer.jpg) no-repeat; height: 63px;}
/*Content
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------*/
#prediction_box {width:290px; height:200px; position:relative; background-color:#392b3f; border: 1px solid #000; margin: 25px 25px 40px 40px;}
When I start to write something on my index page, this wont be 12px Arial as I set in the body tag. The wierness starts if I wan't to have the text in white.
body {font-color:#fff; background-color: #1d1122; font:12px/18px Arial, Tahoma, Verdana, sans-serif #fff; width: 100%;}
If I use the font-color:#fff; than nothing happens. However if I use font: #fff 12px/18px etc... than suddenly the texts will be Arial 12px but still in black!
Can you explain how is this possible?
Looking forward your answears,
Kael
CSS does not define a font-color property. You'll need to use the color property as so: color: #fff; in order for the foreground colour (font colour) to become white.
