I tried to terminated Jenkins agent and open cmd as admin, run the jenkins-agent.jnlp from cmd then the error is not happend.
How do I execute above automatically instead of manual run cmd as admin then execute the jenkins-agent.jnlp?
Create a task on task scheduler and select user like this.
write administrator name and check the name and create the task as admin.
I want to start a shell-script every startup of the openWRT Rooter. But moving it in the etc/init.d directory seems not to work. Want to delete one line in a specific file at every startup. But it does not work.
#!/bin/sh /etc/rc.common
START=80
STOP=85
start(){
grep -vwE "password" /etc/config/glconfig > /etc/config/glconfig
}
What shall i do to execute this (and other) scripts at startup?
Thx for help
In openwrt if you want to run a script on boot you should do:
/etc/init.d/cust_script enable
then reboot the device, it will be effect after reboot.
I have several shortcuts for running scripts with different commands. For example:
<Command name="node-js-run" Ctrl="no" Alt="no" Shift="yes" Key="119">cmd /K node "$(FULL_CURRENT_PATH)"</Command>
(in my user's appdata/roaming directory.)
However, when a script has run, the cmd window exits at
C:\Program Files (x86)\Notepad++>
This is annoying as I may wish to do something else with the script without having to re-navigate.
Is there a way to tweak the command so that when the script ends, the current directory of the cmd window is the same as the script it just ran please?
When running the neo4j server in Linux, we have several commands - start, stop, restart, etc - to control it via the command line.
In windows, the manual simply says:
Usage - Windows
Neo4j.bat
Double-clicking on the Neo4j.bat script will start the server in a console. To quit, just press control-C in the console window.
But how do I stop it if I've started it by executing neo4j.bat from a .bat file of my own, and thus don't have a console window?
For context: I'm working on an unmanaged extension, so I need to rebuild my jar, move it into the plugins directory and restart the server each time I make a change. It'd be a pain in the ass to do this manually, so (when when I was working in Linux) I had Intellij rebuild the artifact and execute a .sh script that moved the resultant jar into /plugins and restarted neo4j.
'/path/to/neo4j/bin/neo4j' stop
rm /path/to/neo4j/plugins/api.jar
mv /project/path/artifacts/graphapi.jar /path/to/neo4j/plugins/api.jar
'/path/to/neo4j' start
How do I do the same in windows using a .bat file?
I've tried this:
del "C:/path/to/neo/plugins/api.jar
move "C:/project/path/artifacts/api.jar" "C:/path/to/neo/plugins/api.jar"
C:/neo/bin/Neo4j.bat
hoping that simply calling Neo4j.bat again would stop the current process and start another, but apparently that's not the case.
If you're on Windows you can stop Neo4j server by executing: neo4j.bat stop
Let me show it in details for those who might be new to the command line:
We need to know where Neo4j is located. If you remember where did you extract it - good, you can skip this step. For others: open Task Manager and look for Commons Daemon Service Runner here how it looks like right mouse click, open Properties and look for its Location path. Find this path in your file manager. We are looking for bin folder with neo4j.bat file.
Open command line and write cd and then paste your path, hit enter. You should jump to that folder with neo4j.bat file.
Stop the server: Type neo4j.bat stop and execute. It will ask for your permission .
after that, you can double check and type 'neo4j.bat status` t be sure it's stopped.
P.S. After Windows reboot neo4j server will be automatically restarted. If you don't want this (it consumes up to 500Mb of memory, at least in my DB ~64k records) you should uninstall the service.
Execute neo4j.bat uninstall-service in that directory.
Cheers!
I want to install a Windows service using a Windows command prompt (not the Visual Studio command prompt).
How do I do this?
Navigate to the installutil.exe in your .net folder (for .net 4 it's C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319 for example) and use it to install your service, like this:
"C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\installutil.exe" "c:\myservice.exe"
Regarding a comment, for 64bit apps, use below:
C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\installutil.exe
Nothing wrong with SC Create command.
Just you need to know the correct args :
SC CREATE "MySVC" binpath= "D:\Me\Services\MySVC\MySVC.exe"
If the directory's name has a space like c:\program files\abc 123, then you must use double quotes around the path.
installutil.exe "c:\program files\abc 123\myservice.exe"
It makes things much easier if you set up a bat file like following,
e.g. To install a service, create a "myserviceinstaller.bat" and "Run as Administrator"
#echo off
cd C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319
installutil.exe "C:\Services\myservice.exe"
if ERRORLEVEL 1 goto error
exit
:error
echo There was a problem
pause
to uninstall service,
Just add a -u to the installutil command.
cd C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319
C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\installutil.exe -u "C:\Services\myservice.exe"
Perform the following:
Start up the command prompt (CMD) with administrator rights.
Type c:\windows\microsoft.net\framework\v4.0.30319\installutil.exe [your windows service path to exe]
Press return and that's that!
It's important to open with administrator rights otherwise you may find errors that come up that don't make sense. If you get any, check you've opened it with admin rights first!
To open with admin rights, right click 'Command Prompt' and select 'Run as administrator'.

Install Service:-
"C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\InstallUtil.exe"
"C:\Services\myservice.exe"
UnInstall Sevice:-
"C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\InstallUtil.exe" -u "C:\Services\myservice.Service.exe"
Create a *.bat file beside of your windows service exe file for installing with the following context:
CLS
ECHO Installing My Windows Service
START %windir%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\installutil.exe "%~d0%~p0\YourWindowsServiceExeName.exe"
Create a *.bat file beside of your windows service exe file for uninstalling with the following context:
CLS
ECHO Uninstalling My Windows Service
START %windir%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\installutil.exe -u "%~d0%~p0\YourWindowsServiceExeName.exe"
Run each of bat file as Admin to install or uninstall your windows service.
I must add one more point in this thread. To install/uninstall 64-bit version of assemblies one should use 64-bit version of tool. To install a service, the command should be:
"C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\InstallUtil.exe"
"C:\YourFolder\YourService.exe"
and to uninstall the command should be:
"C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\InstallUtil.exe" -u
"C:\YourFolder\YourService.exe"
Run Windows Command Prompt as Administrator
paste this code: cd C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\ to go to folder
edit and run this too: installutil C:\ProjectFolder\bin\Debug\MyProject.exe
Note: To uninstall: installutil /u C:\ProjectFolder\bin\Debug\MyProject.exe
open Developer command prompt as Admin and navigate to
cd C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319
Now use path where is your .exe there
InstallUtil "D:\backup\WindowsService\WindowsService1\WindowsService1\obj\Debug\TestService.exe"
Open Visual studio and select new project by selecting Windows Service template in Windows Desktop tab. Than copy following code into your service_name.cs file.
using System.Diagnostics;
using System.ServiceProcess;
namespace TimerService
{
public partial class Timer_Service : ServiceBase
{
public Timer_Service()
{
InitializeComponent();
}
static void Main()
{
if (System.Diagnostics.Debugger.IsAttached)
{
Timer_Service service = new Timer_Service();
service.OnStart(null);
}
else
{
ServiceBase[] ServicesToRun;
ServicesToRun = new ServiceBase[]
{
new Timer_Service()
};
ServiceBase.Run(ServicesToRun);
}
}
protected override void OnStart(string[] args)
{
EventLog.WriteEvent("Timer_Service", new EventInstance(0, 0, EventLogEntryType.Information), new string[] { "Service start successfully." });
}
protected override void OnStop()
{
EventLog.WriteEvent("Timer_Service", new EventInstance(0, 0, EventLogEntryType.Information), new string[] { "Service stop successfully." });
}
}
}
Right-Click on service_name.cs file and open designer of service. than right-click and select Add Installer. than right-click on serviceProcessInstaller1 and change its property value of Account from User to Local System.
Remove static void main method from Program.cs file.
Than save and Build your project.
NOTE: goto bin\Ddebug folder of your project folder. Than open Properties of your service_name.exe file. Than goto Compatibility tab. Than click on Change Settings For All Users.
Select option Run this program as an administrator.
Now, You have to open CommandPromt as Administrator.
After open, set directory to where your InstallUtil.exe file is placed.
for ex: C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319.
now write the following command:
C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319>InstallUtil.exe -i C:\TimerService\TimerService\bin\Debug\TimerService.exe
Note: -i is for install he service and -u for Unsinstall.
after -i set the write the path where you want to install your service.
now write the command in CommandPromt as follows:
C:\TimerService\TimerService\bin\Debug>net start service_name
Note: use stop for stop the Service.
Now, open ViewEventLog.exe. Select Windows Logs>Application. There you can check your Service's log by start and stop the service.
the following code , install and uninstall the Service,
Open the command prompt and run the program as an administrator and fire the below command and press enter.
