Insert dynamic tab names and fields into this formula google sheets - google-sheets

I am struggling with my formula. The formula itself returns the value of the last row of a certain column. Now I would like to work more dynamically. I would like to dynamize the tab names and certain fields. In this case 'SR-SG' and $EQ:$EQ getting these values out of a cell. Any ideas on how I can do that?
=index('SR-SG'!$EQ:$EQ;max(row('SR-SG'!$EQ:$EQ)*('SR-SG'!$EQ:$EQ<>"")))

Thanks for help, much appreciated. Doesn't work. There is an error message with value. It looks like its expecting a number but receives text...
=index(OFFSET(indirect("'"&E29&"'!$EJ:$EJ");;B1-1);max(row(OFFSET(indirect("'"&E29&"'!$EJ:$EJ");;B1-1))*(OFFSET(indirect("'"&E29&"'!$EJ:$EJ");;B1-1)<>"")))

in A1 the name of the sheet, in B1 the column (in number, i.e. 26 for column Z)
=index(OFFSET(indirect("'"&A1&"'!$A:$A");;B1-1);max(row(OFFSET(indirect("'"&A1&"'!$A:$A");;B1-1))*(OFFSET(indirect("'"&A1&"'!$A:$A");;B1-1)<>"")))
or in A1 the name of the sheet, in B1 the column in letter (i.e. Z)
=index(indirect("'"&A1&"'!$"&B1&":$"&B1);max(row(indirect("'"&A1&"'!$"&B1&":$"&B1))*(indirect("'"&A1&"'!$"&B1&":$"&B1)<>"")))

Fetch the last filled cell per row in a given range

I would like to have a formula in column B, which fetches the data from the last non-blank cell in the range D:H. I have hard-plugged the data in column B to highlight what the desired formula should give me in the end >> the latest value on the timeline.
I have not figured out how to solve this issue using a formula, which would not require a concatenation of IF clauses.
Try, in B2
=index(D2:2,(MATCH(9^9, D2:2,1)))
If you put this formula in column b, it will grab the farthest value to the right, which I think is what you want to do?
=SUBSTITUTE(right(SUBSTITUTE(TEXTJOIN("?",TRUE,D2:H2),"?",REPT("!",50)),20),"!","")

Formula to Test for Blanks in two Columns Against a Third Column

So I am using a conditional formatting custom formula to highlight a cell if the column it is summing from another spreadsheet has blanks, but I don't know how to do it with changing ranges. Basically what I want to do is use a third column, say column A, to determine the length of the range (of rows) I want to scan with CountBlank, and if it picks up a blank in there to return a "True".
So basically:
Column A Column B Column C Column D
Person 1 5:30AM 3:00PM 9.5
Person 2 5:00AM 8
Person 3 4:30AM 4:00PM 10.5
So ideally, the cell sums the fourth column with a different function (already have that), and it conditionally formats itself if a blank is picked up in Columns B or C, going all the way down to the last row of column A that has a value. Any help here would be appreciated, thank you.
If I understand you correctly, the custom formula for conditional formatting should be:
=or(countifs(A2:A,"<>",B2:B,""),countifs(A2:A,"<>",C2:C,""))
Suppose you had a list of people's names starting in F2 and their total hours starting in G2. Then you could alter the formula to:
=or(countifs(A$2:A,F2,B$2:B,""),countifs(A$2:A,F2,C$2:C,""))

Filter by Date range and sum Row values by Column (in Google Sheets)

Do you have a suggestion on how to make a formula for the problem written in the title?
Here is the example so that you can get an idea of the data format:
Name,Location,Category,Total views for your listing,Total uniqe page views for your listing,Average time on page (listing),total,Facebook,Reviews,Telephone,Treatment Menu,Get Directions,Book Appointment,Enquiry,Instagram,Date
John,NSW Sydney,Apple,1,1,0:00:12,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,13/Nov/2018
Mike,NSW Sydney,Orange,1,1,0:00:10,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,13/Nov/2018
Kenny,NSW Sydney,Pear,1,1,0:00:00,4,1,1,1,1,0,0,0,0,13/Nov/2018
John,NSW Sydney,Apple,20,1,0:00:12,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,14/Nov/2018
Chris,NSW Sydney,Orange,1,1,0:02:48,3,0,0,1,1,1,0,0,0,14/Nov/2018
Stef,NSW Sydney,Orange,10,1,0:07:22,6,1,1,0,1,0,1,1,1,14/Nov/2018
So, the issue is in making a formula that gets put into cells containing numerical values (from D to O), for each of the Name rows.
What it should look like is:
for John and for 13th and 14th of November, the cell in column B in that row should be 21
for Mike for 13th and 14th, it returns 1
for Jenny, which is not on the list, because she didn't have any values in any of the numerical columns for that day (or a group of days), it should return 0
All of these should appear in the "Main Dashboard" sheet, while the data is stored in the "directory statistics" sheet.
The predefined list of all the possible Names, Categories and Locations is in the "customList" sheet. This means that we don't need to search through the whole dataset of all the values for all the dates, but rather only search through the Names in the "customList". "Name" should be the key value that connects values in different dates.
So far, I have tried with this formula:
=Filter('directory statistics'!A2:A,'directory statistics'!$P2:$P=$P2)
It looks for the name column (A) and then returns the value if the date entered (in P2) matches the value in that sheet for the date column (P)
And then I got stuck! :)
Thank you!
I'm not sure why FILTER. Assuming Name in A1, and Row 1 and ColumnA in Main Dashboard set up as in my image, then:
=SUMIFS('directory statistics'!D$1:D$7,'directory statistics'!A$1:A$7,$A2,'directory statistics'!P$1:P$7,">="&B$1,'directory statistics'!P$1:P$7,"<="&C$1)
in B2 and copied down would appear to me to achieve the results you seek.

Google spreadsheet Multiple result with VLOOK UP

The VLOOKUP formulas which works individually are
=if(VLOOKUP(E2,DB!$C:$E,1,0)>0,"COMPLETED",)
=if(VLOOKUP(E2,DB!$F:$H,1,0)>0,"IN PROGRESS",)
The issue is while displaying both results in a single cell, the formula which I came up for this was
C2=if(AND(VLOOKUP(E4,DB!$C:$E,1,0)>0),"COMPLETED",if(VLOOKUP(E4,DB!$F:$H,1,0)>0,"IN PROGRESS","UNDEFINED"))
I have tested the formula with normal conditions other than VLOOKUP and it works without any issues, not sure what's wrong with it.
Example : C10=if(AND(E10=1),"ONE",if(E10=2,"TWO","NO DATA"))
Any help appreciated.
May be its something simple but I am pulling my hair out for the last 3 hours.
Thanks :)

Sorry for the comments that I have posted as I am new at using Stack overflow.
I have tried with only IF statements without any AND conditions, but the result is still same. The VLOOKUP is not returning the second value.
C15=IF(VLOOKUP(E15,DB!$F:$H,1,0)>0,"COMPLETED",if(VLOOKUP(E15,DB!$F:$H,1,0)>0,"IN PROGRESS","UNDEFINED"))
What I am expecting in cell C2 (sheet1) is check the values in cell
E2 against the columns C:H ( Sheet 2/ DB). If it belongs to
Column C:C in (sheet2/DB) then the value in C2 (sheet1) should display
as "Completed" else if the value is in column F:F ( sheet2/DB) then in C2
(sheet1) should display "In Progress".

There are a few problems with your formula.
VLOOKUP and similar functions search within a single row or column, and it seems like you're looking for your value in multiple rows and columns.
As #Meta mentioned, VLOOKUP returns N/A when the value is not found in the range, and you are expecting a zero or less value to be returned (when you check for >0 in the IF statement). Note that VLOOKUP returns the cell value itself and not an index of a match (like the MATCH function).
My suggestion is to replace your VLOOKUPs with COUNTIF.
=IF(COUNTIF(DB!$F:$H,E2)>0,"COMPLETED",IF(COUNTIF(DB!$C:$D,E2)>0,"IN PROGRESS","UNDEFINED"))
COUNTIF counts in multiple rows and columns, and will return a zero if no matches are found.

Google Spreadsheet Function That Sums Numbers In A Column When the Row Contains An EXACT Text

I've been at this problem for a while now. I am trying to sum numbers under a specific column when the rows equal a certain text and then display that sum on a different sheet. So far I came up with this formula: =IF(EXACT(A2,Table!A2:A)=TRUE,SUM(Table!C2:C)); however the only problem is that is sums everything in column C (which makes sense).
I wish there was a way to do something like the following: SUM(Table!C2:C where EXACT(A2,TABLE!A2:A)=TRUE). I've also tried the SUMIF(), DSUM(), and QUERY() functions to no avail. I must be getting logically tripped up somewhere.
Figured it out: =SUM(FILTER(Table!E4:E, EXACT(Table!A4:A,A4)=TRUE)).
=sum ( FILTER (b1:b10, a1:a10 = "Text" ) )
// the above formula will help you to take the sum of the values in column B when another column A contain a specific text.
The formula is applicable only in Google Spreadsheets
