I'm trying to copy the content of a directory into another directory on a Jenkins file.
My first attempt was using xcopy, but I'm getting an error ( Invalid number of parameters).
bat 'xcopy cashplus-backoffice/cashplus-backoffice-ui/build/web cashplus-backoffice/src/main/resources/static /e /h'
My second attempt was to using File Operation plugin as follows:
fileOperations([fileCopyOperation(
excludes: '',
flattenFiles: false,
includes: 'cashplus-backoffice/cashplus-backoffice-ui/build/web/**',
targetLocation: 'cashplus-backoffice/src/main/resources/static'
)])
The problem with this solution is that it copy the whole tree and the content of the source folder ( cashplus-backoffice/cashplus-backoffice-ui/build/web. I want just the content of the web folder ).
How can I achieve this?
You can use xcopy command and use \\ instead of \ for windows.
Example:
bat "xcopy /E /H C:\\Data\\myfiles C:\\Data\\Documents\\"

New to Jenkins. I need help to copy a local Python script file to Jenkins workspace.
Can someone guide me? Thanks.
You can use copy <src file> <destination directory> to copy files.
Below will copy all python files into Workspace directory
bat "copy /Y C:\\MyProject\\*.py ${Workspace}\\"
Try using powershell like this..
withCredentials([file(credentialsId: 'settings-xml', variable: 'FILE')]) {
echo "^^^^^ Copying file to ${env.WORKSPACE}\\src\\main\\resources ^^^^^^"
bat 'powershell Copy-Item %FILE% -Destination .\\src\\main\\resources'
...
}
I am running a Jenkinsfile that needs to include a step, where it goes in to an existing file in a Github repo and updates a line with a version number variable, that is stored a Jenkins credential called ${version}. So that when the build is done, the variable version is added in to the compilede go program.
e.g
The Jenkins Step will need to go in to the version.go file, go to the fmt.Println() line and add in ${version}.
stage('Update Version number in version.go') {
sh 'echo "${version}" > Version.go'
}
File and line to be updated. Example of what I need the println line to look like.
Version.go
var versionCmd = &cobra.Command{
Use: "version",
Short: "Print the version number of CLI",
Run: func(cmd *cobra.Command, args []string) {
fmt.Println( **${version}** )
},
}
I've been able to test adding ${version} to an existing file. My main confusion is how to specify a location in an existing file.
Thanks
When executing the following code in a Jenkins pipeline, a "The following steps that have been detected may have insecure interpolation of sensitive variables" warning is being added to the build, with a link to https://www.jenkins.io/doc/book/pipeline/jenkinsfile/#string-interpolation with explanation.
powershell script: """
\$ErrorActionPreference = "Stop"
cd "${WORKSPACE}\\MyDirectory"
& .\\myScript.ps1 -user "${creds_USR}" -passw "${creds_PSW}"
"""
I've already tried to change it as described in the link above, but then the variables don't seem to be replaced anymore.
powershell script: '''
\$ErrorActionPreference = \"Stop\"
cd \"$WORKSPACE\\MyDirectory\"
& .\\myScript.ps1 -user \"$creds_USR\" -passw \"$creds_PSW\"
'''
Would somebody know a working solution for this please?
Presumably you have a block like this that's generating those values:
environment {
creds = credentials('some-credentials')
}
So your build environment has those variables available to Powershell. Rather than interpolating the string that constitutes the Powershell script, then, just write the script to pull the data from the environment.
powershell script: '''\
$ErrorActionPreference = "Stop"
cd "$Env:WORKSPACE\MyDirectory"
& .\myScript.ps1 -user "$Env:creds_USR" -passw "$Env:creds_PSW"
'''
I am preparing a Jenkins pipeline script in Groovy language. I would like to move all files and folders to another location. As Groovy supports Java so I used below java code to perform the operation.
pipeline{
agent any
stages{
stage('Organise Files'){
steps{
script{
File sourceFolder = new File("C:\\My-Source");
File destinationFolder = new File("C:\\My-Destination");
File[] listOfFiles = sourceFolder.listFiles();
echo "Files Total: " + listOfFiles.length;
for (File file : listOfFiles) {
if (file.isFile()) {
echo file.getName()
Files.copy(Paths.get(file.path), Paths.get("C:\\My-Destination"));
}
}
}
}
}
}
}
This code throws the bellow exception:
groovy.lang.MissingPropertyException: No such property: Files for
class: WorkflowScript
I tried with below code too, but it's not working either.
FileUtils.copyFile(file.path, "C:\\My-Destination");
Finally, I did try with java I/O Stream to perform the operation and the code is bellow:
def srcStream = new File("C:\\My-Source\\**\\*").newDataInputStream()
def dstStream = new File("C:\\My-Destination").newDataOutputStream()
dstStream << srcStream
srcStream.close()
dstStream.close()
But it's not working either and throws the below exception:
java.io.FileNotFoundException: C:\My-Source (Access is denied)
Can anyone suggest me how to solve the problem and please also let me know how can I delete the files from the source location after copy or move it? One more thing, during the copy can I filter some folder and files using wildcard? Please also let me know that.
Don't execute these I/O functions using plain Java/Groovy. Even if you get this running, this will always be executed on the master and not the build agents. Use pipeline steps also for this, for example:
bat("xcopy C:\\My-Source C:\\My-Destination /O /X /E /H /K")
or using the File Operations Plugin
fileOperations([fileCopyOperation(
excludes: '',
flattenFiles: false,
includes: 'C:\\My-Source\\**',
targetLocation: "C:\\My-Destination"
)]).
I assume I didn't hit the very right syntax for Windows paths here in my examples, but I hope you get the point.
Yesterday, I wrote and ran a Katalon test suite, and today, I'm trying to integrate Katalon with Jenkins. I successfully setup Jenkins, created a new job for the Katalon testing, as per these instructions, but when I went to build it, I get failing builds.
In particular, this is the error message I keep getting :
Recording test results
ERROR: Step ‘Publish JUnit test result report’ failed: No test report files were found. Configuration error?
Finished: FAILURE
I went ahead and copied the Reports folder structure from the project directory that I specified to the Jenkins workspace. Upon later inspection, I found that, when Jenkins was running the Katalon tests, the JUnit_Report.xml file was actually getting created in the project's Reports folder, instead of at %JENKINS_HOME%\workspace\[project name]\Reports. I explicitly told it to generate test reports to : Reports/LoginSuite/*/JUnit_Report.xml.
NOTE: I'm on a Windows machine.
How can I fix this so that I can display test results from Jenkins?!
UPDATE : I have revised my Windows shell code to the following
C:
cd C:\Katalon
katalon -runMode=console -projectPath="C:\Users\mwarren\Katalon Studio\TestProject" -reportFolder="../../.jenkins/workspace/Katalon Studio Tests/Reports" -reportFileName="report" -retry=0 -testSuitePath="Test Suites/LoginSuite" -browserType="Chrome"
and it's still giving me the same error, even though now the tests are being created there.
Report folder is generated in the jenkins job folder.
Reports/**/JUnit_Report.xml
PEBKAC, apparently. I should have, from the getgo, listened to Jenkins and set my Test Report XMLs as */JUnit_Report.xml
Copy all reports to a temp folder, rename each xml with test case name and then copy it back to junit folder.
testCasesTxt = sh (
script: 'sudo find $WORKSPACE -name "*.ts*" -type f -printf "%f\n"',
returnStdout: true
).trim()
testCasesTxt = testCasesTxt.replace(".ts", "")
testCases = testCasesTxt.split("\n")
for (int i = 0; i < testCases.size(); i++) {
script {
try {
wrap([$class: 'Xvfb']) {
sh """
cd /opt/katalon
./katalon -noSplash -consoleLog -runMode=console -projectPath=$WORKSPACE/"katalon-project.prj" -reportFolder="Reports" -reportFileName="report" -retry=0 -testSuitePath="Test Suites/${testCases[i]}" -executionProfile="qa" -browserType="Chrome"
"""
}
} catch (any) {
currentBuild.result = 'FAILURE'
throw any //rethrow exception to prevent the build from proceeding
} finally {
sh """
cd /home/environment/tmp/
cd Reports
mkdir ${testCases[i]}
cd $WORKSPACE
cp -r Reports/ /home/environment/tmp/Reports/${testCases[i]}
cd /home/environment/tmp/Reports/${testCases[i]}/Reports
mv JUnit_Report.xml JUnit_Report_${testCases[i]}.xml
cd $WORKSPACE
cp -r "Data Files/" "/home/environment/tmp/"
"""
//
}
}
}
According to this thread, this can happen when trying to execute two Katalon instances at the same moment.
If that's the case, try changing Jenkins number of executors 1.
If your report is at \Reports\20200611_172240\TestSuite1\20200611_172240/JUnit_Report.xml location in your project folder, then configure the folder path as below - /Reports///*/JUnit_Report.xml
as the 3 folders after report folder name are always going to change after each execution.
Please use the Test report XMLs path as like this
**/target/surefire-reports/*.xml
