Jenkins Pipeline not providing Bitbucket Server environment variables - jenkins

How can I configure my Jenkins Pipeline project to provide the CHANGE_* variables related to a Bitbucket Server commit? The project's Pipeline definition is Pipeline script from SCM (Bitbucket Server Integration).
I have checked Bitbucket Server trigger build after push made available from the Bitbucket Server Integration Jenkins plugin and the build does get triggered, but the variables related to the commit/change message, author, author email, etc. are all missing.

The only Bitbucket related env variables are GIT_BRANCH, GIT_COMMIT, and GIT_URL.

The Bitbucket webhook (trigger) plugin does not provide a json payload.
If you want to get Bitbucket trigger json payload (and query it inside the the pipeline) you'll need to use the Generic Webhook Trigger

Jenkins with Jenkinsfile Pipeline - Trigger Builds Remotely

I have a Jenkinsfile setup for our CI/CD pipeline, and it runs through the pipeline on git actions like Pull Requests, Branch Creation, Tag Pushes, etc..
Prior to this setup, I was used to setting up Jenkins build jobs in the Jenkins UI. The advantage of this, was that I could setup dedicated build jobs that I could trigger remotely, and independently of git webhook actions. I could do a POST to the job endpoint with parameters to trigger various actions.

I could also hit the big button that says "Build", or "Build with Parameters" in the UI, which was super nice.
How would one do this with a Jenkinsfile? Is this even possible to define build jobs in a pipeline definition within a Jenkinsfile? I.E. define functions / build jobs that have dedicated URLs that could be called on the Jenkins URL independent of webhook callbacks?
What's the best practice here?

I would recommend starting with Multibranch pipelines. In general you get all the things you mentioned, but a little better. Because thhe paramteres can be defined within your Jenkinsfile. In short just do it like this:
Create a Jenkinsfile an check this into a Git Repository.
To create a Multibranch Pipeline: Click New Item on Jenkins home page.
Enter a name for your Pipeline, select Multibranch Pipeline and click OK.
Add a Branch Source (for example, Git) and enter the location of the repository.
Save the Multibranch Pipeline project.
A declarative Jenkinsfile can look like this:

How to set sonar url commonly for all the multibranch pipeline jobs(created via bitbucket organization job) commonly?

I am using organization "Organizational Folder" in jenkins and able to create multibranch pipeline jobs for all my repos available in my organization folder in bitbucket.
Each of the repos contains Jenkinsfile because of which the job gets created. Now I am stuck at a point, I want to publish sonar report of all the repos but it is trying to publish at sonar default url. One solution I am aware of is to provide sonar url and login credentials in each of the Jenkinsfile. But I don't want to do that as I will have to make changes in more than 50 repos.
I am using shared instance of Jenkins, thus, does not have admin access to configure settings.xml for maven.
Is there any way by which I can pass sonar url and credentials to all the multibranch pipeline jobs via configuration in "Organizational Folder" or at the folder level where I have admin access
You can define sonarQube server in environment section of jenkinsfile and also create token on sonarQube and add it in credentials of jenkins and use it like this

How to add webhooks in gitlab for multibranch pipeline jenkins

I want to trigger multi-branch pipeline for every push, can anyone please let me know can how can we configure web-hooks in gitlab for multi-branch pipeline.
If you were wondering where the trigger setting is in Multibranch pipeline job settings, this will answers it:
Unlike other job types, there is no 'Trigger' setting required for a Multibranch job configuration; just create a webhook in GitLab for push requests which points to the project's webhook URL.

You can also provide Gitlab triggers within the Jenkinsfile. You can see examples within the link provided above. This is how I got it work:

Then in your Gitlab Project go to Settings -> Integrations and type in the Jenkins Job project url in 'URL'. URL should take either form:
http://JENKINS_URL/project/PROJECT_NAME
http://JENKINS_URL/project/FOLDER/PROJECT_NAME
Notice that the url does not contain "job" within it and instead uses "project".
Make sure under Triggers, you have "Push Events" checked as well if you want the job to trigger whenever someone pushes a commit.
Finally, run a build against your Jenkinsfile first before testing the webhook so Jenkins will pick-up the trigger settings for Gitlab.

Jenkins Pipeline: Are agents required to utilize Jenkinsfile?

I am investigating the use of Jenkins Pipeline (specifically using Jenkinsfile). The context of my implementation is that I'm deploying a Jenkins instance using Chef. Part of this deployment may include some seed jobs, which will pull job configurations from source control (Jenkinsfile), to automate creation of our build jobs via Chef.
I've investigated the Jenkins documentation for both Pipeline as well as Jenkinsfile, and it seems to me that in order to use Jenkins Pipeline agents are required to be configured and set up in addition to Jenkins Master.
Am I understanding this correctly? Must Jenkins agents exist in order to use Jenkins Pipeline's Jenkinsfile? This specific line in the Jenkinsfile documentation leads me to believe this to be true:

The 'agent' part of the pipeline is required however this does not mean that you are required to have an external agent in addition to your master. If all you have is the master this pipeline will execute on the master. If you have additional agents available the pipeline would execute on whichever agent happens to be available when you run the pipeline.
If you go into
Manage Jenkins -> Manage Nodes and Clouds, you can see 'Master' itself is treated as one of the Default Nodes. With declarative format agent anyindicates any available agent which (including 'Master' as well from node configuration see below).
In case if you configure any New node, this can then be treated as New Agent in the pipeline agent any can be replaced by agent 'Node_Name'

Jenkins restrict Jenkinsfile modifications on pull request

I have a GitHub repo setup with a Jenkinsfile. The GitHub Organization Folder Plugin will execute the pipeline from the supplied Jenkinsfile.
The final step of the pipeline is the deploy step. The deploy step checks if the branch has AWS credentials using the CloudBees Amazon Web Services Credentials Plugin. If it detects credentials it will deploy otherwise it won't.
All members have read only access to the GitHub repository, whenever they want to change something they have to create a pull request.(Only admins can merge) If there is a new pull request the Jenkins server will run the pipeline until the deploy step, to check if the pull request can be integrated to the master branch. The finalstep of the pipeline is the deploy step, this shouldn't be executed for pull requests.

The problem is that team members can create a pull request with a changed Jenkinsfile.
So let's say one of the team members get's hacked. They can now infect the production environment by creating a pull request with a changed Jenkinsfile which does the following:

How do I prevent Jenkins from running the pipeline for a changed Jenkinsfile?
Or how do I make pull request use the Jenkinsfile from the master branch instead?
As far as I know it is not documented, but only a pull request from a branch of the repository can execute a changed JenkinsFile.
If someone make a fork and a pull request, the Jenkins file exectued by Jenkins will be the one of the targeted branch of the pull request, and not the one of the pull request.
If admins level is required to merge anything (not only the master branch) so you are safe.
you probably forgot to add the handler for the jenkins file, look at the repository to get the setting of the preventation. Hope this will fix it for you.
