The "GetItCmd" task failed unexpectedly - NullReferenceException - delphi

I have a Delphi project in RAD Studio where I added a package using the GetIt Package Manager. After adding the package, I also added the package as a dependency to the project. But then the project does not build, and gives the following error:
[MSBuild Error] The "GetItCmd" task failed unexpectedly.
System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
at Borland.Build.Tasks.Common.CommandLineTask.Execute()
at Borland.Build.Tasks.Shared.GetItCmd.Execute()
at Microsoft.Build.BuildEngine.TaskEngine.ExecuteInstantiatedTask(EngineProxy engineProxy, ItemBucket bucket, TaskExecutionMode howToExecuteTask, ITask task, Boolean& taskResult)
Using Google, I found this post on GitHub stating that I should set the BCDHost environment variable to "true".

But why is that? What does this setting do?

Unable to clone the repository in git_repository in bazel with ubuntu 15.10

I am trying to compile the following heron branch
https://github.com/twitter/heron/tree/karthik/pexbuild
using bazel 0.3.1 in ubuntu 15.10. In the workspace, I refer to another repo containing the pex bazel rules at
https://github.com/streamlio/bazel_rules_pex
I am getting the following error (interestingly it does not occur in ubuntu14.04, ubuntu16.10, centos7 and mac). Any help will be appreciated?
bazel build --config=ubuntu --verbose_failures heron/...

There were many fixes and improvements in remote repositories, I'd advice you to upgrade bazel before trying anything else.

grails -version FATAL ERROR in native method

I'm trying to get grails version, but getting error all the time. OS: windows server 2012 and windows 8. I suspect that the port is busy, and I can't release it - need another exit from situation
So, I'm doing something like this in command line:
{PATH_TO_/bin/grails.bat} -version
The result is:
FATAL ERROR in native method: JDWP No transports initialized, jvmtiError=AGENT_ERROR_TRANSPORT_INIT(197)
ERROR: transport error 202: bind failed: Address already in use
ERROR: JDWP Transport dt_socket failed to initialize, TRANSPORT_INIT(510)
JDWP exit error AGENT_ERROR_TRANSPORT_INIT(197): No transports initialized [../../../src/share/back/debugInit.c:750]
So.. what can I do with it?
Thanks.
To resolve problem I've just set JAVA_OPTS
with
-Xrunjdwp:transport=dt_shmem,server=y,suspend=n

I've enabled nuget restore, and I have another MVC4 App that deploys fine.
To help identify the issue, I suggest starting with a clean clone of your repo on your local machine. Then run NuGet restore, and check that all the relative references in your .csproj can be resolved. It looks like it's trying to fall back to the GAC, which usually happens when relative paths are messed up.

Trying to install Virtual Treeview for Delphi XE2

Found trunk here:
http://virtual-treeview.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/
Downloaded files... Worked through some errors with search paths
(VirtualTreesD could not locate required package "dclstd" - it was in lib/win32/release, added it to library Delphi paths)
When I try build all I get following errors:
[DCC Fatal Error] VirtualTreesR.dpk(29): E2225 Never-build package 'dclstd' must be recompiled
[DCC Fatal Error] VirtualTreesD.dpk(35): E2202 Required package 'VirtualTreesR' not found
The trunk version of VirtualTreesR does not require dclstd. The error message you report says it does, so it looks like you erroneously added dclstd to the run-time package's list of required packages. Revert that change. The run-time package should not require dclstd, which is a design-time package. It should require only vcl and vclx.
Try to change target platform in project's group from Windows 64 to 32.
Compiler try search dclstd.dcp file, this file location is for ej. win 32 in debug "lib\win32\debug".
Fix: in the tool/option/delphi option/library add $(BDSLIB)\$(Platform)\release and $(BDSLIB)\$(Platform)\debug

Error preverifying class, coming while running my app

I am trying to run a sample project, but I am getting this error on the console and the app does not run.
I don't understand what this error means.

Could it be related to compiler target level in your Eclipse? For BB it should be set to 1.3, while by default Eclipse sets it to 1.5/1.6. Check "More detail on preverification errors ?" for details.
You must set JAVA_HOME in your system environment variables
