iOS Share Extension, get title of shared Item - ios

Does anyone know if it is possible to access the title of a shared item in a share extension.
I know that it is possible to get title and some other attributes by JavaScript. The problem is I want to get the title of items shared from the YouTube App for example. In the Image below it would be the string "Welcome G2.."
Thanks for your help.

I believe it is only possible by supplying URL as shared item to the UIActivityViewController. The header will configure itself with appropriate icon, title and domain. It looks like the example you have provided, YouTube app, uses exactly that.
UPDATE: to retrive title you can use URLSession, try this approach.

Twitter Card Validator - Link to specific URL

I would like to give someone a link to check how a URL would look on a Twitter card. Currently, I send them to https://cards-dev.twitter.com/validator and ask them to type in the URL. It would be more convenient to simply give a link that auto adds their URL.
Like this example:
https://cards-dev.twitter.com/validator?url=https://google.com
Any way to do this?
The Twitter cards validator does not support having URLs passed in like that, so unfortunately this is still a two step process.

Content to share in Facebook is empty [duplicate]

I could set custom picture and caption for link. Now it is impossible for v2.9. Is there some kind of workaround without specifying og: tags.
When using Facebook Graph v2.8, you could post a link and display a custom image and not the "og:image".
This was done by adding the picture parameter to the hook.
https://graph.facebook.com/v2.9/me/feed?link=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2F&picture=https%3A%2F%2Fi.ytimg.com%2Fvi%2FtntOCGkgt98%2Fmaxresdefault.jpg&name=test&message=this%20is%20a%20test&access_token=**********
The graph API is at 2.9 and as per the documentations this is still supposed to work Facebook API doc
However, it keeps getting overridden by the scraped image. Is anyone else experiencing this problem or have a workaround.? Facebook API Explorer
picture, name, caption, thumbnail, description are all set to be deprecated.

You can go ahead and use Open Graph for posting images with custom description and title.

Adding multiple youtube playlists to site just like youtube has em

this is desired output for site
this is how youtube displays multiple playlist...how can I add this just like they have it to my site AND to linkedin profile?
embedding the share html link just brings in playlist but it does not display properly....I need it to appear exactly like it does in attached pic???
Linking to your LinkedIn profile, I have not tried. So perhaps someone else can tell you.
As to having a section like the one you showed to be on your own site is doable.
Firstly you will need to collect the playlist ID's that you are going to use.
Then you will need to get the video ID's from the video's in each Playlist.
This can be done with the API.
As to the displaying it like on youtube, you will need to do that yourself with one or more combination of table's, div's and CSS. Then With the information you grabbed in the APi, populate it.
Best to do it in a loop so as to be done all at the same time. Then put it to the page where you require it to be.

Is is possible to share elements or parts of a page on social media sites?

I'm hoping this is a pretty simple question to answer. I have a page with 6 recipes on it. I'm being asked to include share buttons for each recipe and they want the shares on FB or Twitter to be formatted to use a specific image and text for each recipe. This is something we would normally handle via Open Graph metatags and the like, but that only works at the page-level.
You must use a separate URL/page for each Like/Share. But you can redirect to the main page, or just use a GET parameter. For example, each Like/Share Button can use the following URL: http://www.yourdomain.com/yourrecipepage.php?recipeid=x
The "x" being dynamic, of course. Now you can check the recipeid parameter and use different OG tags. the rest of the page will be the same. I hope you understand what i mean :)

Explicity disable image sharing to facebook using mini_fb gem

I use mini_fb to share text and images to facebook. My requirement is
When share text then it should share only text
When share text with image, then both text and image should be shared.
My problem is when I share text only, then a random image from the url is posted to facebook along with text. When I searched for it, I found that facebook is picking up images with og:image tag, and picking the last image and posted it.
But there is no explicit meta tag with property "og:image" in my site.
To avoid this I also put explicit meta tag with property "og:image". But the client does not need this.
Can I explicity disable image sharing to facebook, when no image is shared to facebook using 'mini_fb' gem?
it seems that at the moment it isn't possible, not because of the gem, but because of facebook.
By removing the ability to customize link metadata (i.e. headline, description, image) from all link sharing entry points on Facebook, we are eliminating a channel that has been abused to post false news.
you can see more information about this here
https://developers.facebook.com/blog/post/2017/06/27/API-Change-Log-Modifying-Link-Previews/
the way you solved it at the moment is the right way. it's better for you to set explicit the image you want to show, so there is more control about it by you.
