I've been trying, without success, to simulate a printed version of an image in A4 dimensions.
My approach was:
Create a white A4 image:
convert -size 595x843^ xc:white a4.jpg
Resize the original image:
convert original.jpg -resize 545x842 original_resize.jpg
Mix them up:
composite original_resize.jpg a4.jpg final.jpg
But the result is not really achieving my goal.
Example what I want to get (omit that the second picture is in grey-scale):
If I understand what you want, you can do that in ImageMagick command line as:
Input:
convert logo.jpg -resize 595x843 -gravity center -background white -extent 595x843 logo_result.jpg
Result:
If that is not what you want, then please explain further.

I have searched the web high and low and found some examples which lets you extract out one color and make it transparent for an image i.e. background color. This was done with methods like CGImageCreateWithMaskingColors. What I'm trying to do is the opposite though. I want to extract out all colors from an image except for one color. Is that possible, and how?

I was wondering if there is an "easy" way to draw text in a shape or a view or a path so that the characters wrap if the text line is too long (even with fonts with different sizes).
Below just an picture to describe the idea...
How can i check that a particular character size goes beyond the shape border and therefore the characters should be wrapped?
Any help on this...highly appreciated... :-)

There's no direct way to do this on iOS. (At least Apple doesn't provide a way).
You will have to do it yourself - create a CGPathRef of your shape. Then use CGPathGetPathBoundingBox and CGPathContainsPoint to determine where to wrap your text. You can find out the size required for a string using -[NSString sizeWithFont:minFontSize:actualFontSize:forWidth:lineBreakMode:].

So, my background is in the color #DBDBDB. I need an animated loading image like this one for my site's background. Unfortunately since GIFs don't support partial transparency, I'm left with a white outline in my background. I've tried to take this image and edit it to use the same background color to no avail. Then I tried to make a loading animation of my own but that came out horrible. So I do not know what to do. Can anyone help me? I would like to use this image but instead of a white outline, I would like an outline in the color #DBDBDB or a background #DBDBDB

You can use the wonderful little service AjaxLoad to generate a loading animation for any combination of colors. Just pick #DBDBDB as the background color and use "Indicator Big" as your style.

I have to purchase iPhone4 for development purpose,so can anyone suggest me is there any difference between iPhone4 white color and iPhone black color? If yes which one is better choice for development purpose?
Differences include.
1) Slightly modified camera (placement wise) (barely worth mentioning since its same quality).
2) And color.
So for development purposes it does not matter which one you choose.

I am trying to procedurally generate point stars to create a starfield background for my game. I want to weight the color production based on an average star's real color. Can anyone point me in the direction of this sort of data?
I found a nice overview here. It shows some real examples. Maybe this will help you.
It is White. To be closer to the real thing apply redshift as the stars are further away and add or remove blue to account for star temperature and age.
