I am using TFS 2015 and working on Boards. I could perform show/hide Active and Resolved workitems from the options available in the top left corner of the window.
But is there a way to Hide Closed workitems from the lists ?Screenshot listing closed items
Thank you in advance.
But is there a way to Hide Closed workitems from the lists?
I am afraid there is no such way to Hide Closed workitems from the lists in the TFS 2015.
There is an implemented user voice about this request:
Hide closed items option on all backlogs
But this feature is deployed on the newer version of tfs, like: TFS2018. And it is not extended to the lower version of TFS. On the TFS 2018 and above, there is a filtering function in the upper right corner:
So there seems to be no such way to Hide Closed workitems from the lists in the TFS 2015 instead of updating TFS to 2018 and above.

We have been using TFS for a number of years and I still struggle to get a handle on the progress (e.g. burndown) of an Epic.
The Epic spans multiple team backlogs.
We use the Scrum template and are on TFS 2017 on-premises version.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks

I have checked in with 5 workitems in tfs.
Now how to delete these workitems from the check in to have only one workitem in tfs?
Assuming you check in some items with 5 related work items, but now you just want to relate one work item with the items.
You can simply delete the changset link in the work items you don't want to relate:
You can't delete a work item in TFS 2013. Depending on your work item's workflow, you can set the state of the work item to something like closed or complete.
The deletion of work items feature was only introduced in TFS 2015.2.
I have a requirement of moving Team projects between two team project collections in TFS 2015. Also need the History & Label to be moved to the new collection.
I am aware there is no direct way of moving the project between collection along with history & label.
Can someone suggest a better way to handle it?
Thanks in Advance,
Dinesh
There is already a UserVoice for this request, and this feature is under plan:
We are committed to allow you to move team projects between
collections, although it’s currently not in scope for the 2016
calendar year. We’ll provide an updated timeline as we get closer to
2017.
An alternative, you can try with 3rd tools to move team projects, such as TFS Integration Tools, OpsHub. Please read the limitations before using the tools.
I would like to modify the Burndown chart in TFS 2012's Scrum 2.0 Template so that weekends no longer show. I've already looked at this article, but unfortunately the solution listed there doesn't apply to the Burndown Chart when running from Board View.
Does anyone have a suggestion for how I can modify it in Board View?
UPDATE: The burndown excludes the weekends on Visual Studio Online. Later this year, this feature ships with TFS 2013 Update 2 for on-prem customers.
See the announcement at http://www.visualstudio.com/news/2014-jan-22-vso.
If you want to configure the working days of your team, you can click on the gear button in the top right corner which will open the admin area in a new tab. Click on your team, and choose the “settings” tab.
The TFS team on uservoice explained recently that they started working on this feature request Burndown chart should exclude non-work days.
This question already has answers here:
VS2012 return to a normal TFS checkin window?

Closed 9 years ago.
The TFS Pending Changes has moved from its own window to a tab in the Team Explorer.
The pending changes are now displayed as a treeview that reflects the structure of the solution.
How can I display the pending changes as a flat list/grid that can be sorted by various columns?
It's possible to add "TF.exe Checkin" as an external tool, see answer for a similar question.
However it pop-ups after some delay, which is annoying.
I found that if you have only a few recently checked-out files that you want to check-in together, using pending changes tree view is quicker. However if you need to check-in some of many check-out files, "TF.exe Checkin" list is more convenient.
Alternatively try TeamPilgrim Free VS extension -
a replacement for Visual Studio 2012's Team Explorer inspired by the Visual Studio 2010's Team Explorer by Stanley Goldman
After experimentation, I've found it's a link on that page, Show all included changes:
#G_P added this as a comment to a different answer, but I think it deserves an answer slot of its own.
The TeamPilgrim extension includes a replacement pending changes window/tab.

There is a "pending changes" filter on the Visual Studio 2012 Solution explorer. It will display all your files that are checked out the same as the Team Explorer, but without all the extra garbage about Notes or Work Items.
