IE add on Edge IE mode - microsoft-edge

I have enabled Enterprise mode and redirected all the intranet site to open on IE.
Problem is that I have IE add-ons which only open in IE is not opening in Edge IE mode. When I am trying to open the internal page it's given me jar file extension and asking me to choose the application through which I can open the jar file. In IE I am not facing the issue.
Is there any settings I need to do for IE ADD-on to open in IE mode

Can't get my .html files to save in chrome

When I click the "save as" button on Notepad and save it, it has the Edge icon instead of the Chrome one on the file icon and opens in Edge instead of ChromeImage:
Probably your default browser is Edge.
Set your default browser to Chrome.
https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95417?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en
As already informed by the other community member that on your machine, MS Edge legacy browser is set as a default browser.
That's why it is showing the Edge browser logo on the HTML file.
If you want to change your default browser then you can try to refer to the steps below.
Open Settings on your Windows 10 OS.
Click on Apps.
Click on the Default apps option from the left sidebar.
On the right side of the settings window, you can see the web browser option.
click on the browser will show you the list of the installed browsers on your machine. You can click on the desired browser to make it your default browser.
If you don't want to change the default browser then you can try to use the Open with option to open the HTML file with any other browser.
Select the HTML file.
Right-click on HTML file.
Hover the mouse pointer on Open with option. It will show you the list of the installed browsers.
You can click on the desired browser to open the file with that browser.

IIS 10 Coldfusion 11 served website won't load default home page on IOS mobile devices

Have a Windows 2016 server with IIS 10 running ColdFusion 11. Certain websites (with https://) won't load the default home page on iPhone and iPad only. The default home pages load great on all browsers on Windows 10, and even on a Mac in Safari and Chrome, but won't load on iPhone and iPad in either Safari or Chrome -- they just time out. If I put the name of the default page in the URL, it will load just fine on these IOS mobile devices, but if I just use the site's domain name, it will NOT load. IOS versions are up-to-date. If we set the default page to an html page it WILL load; if we set it to a cfm page it WILL NOT load.
So the FAILING situation is in loading default cfm page on iPhone or iPad.
Appreciate any assistance or advice. Thanks.
I have come up with a workaround for this problem.
I created an index.html file containing:
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;URL='https://domainname.com/index.cfm'" />
and made index.html the default page for the website.
I don't like it, but it seems to get things working on the iPad and iPhone.

Open link with other browser from chrome

I have to put a link in my web application for going to other application but that other application was designed to use on IE only.
Is there any way to force my link to open that site in IE when my app was run in chrome.

Open file on none default application (browser)

How do you check what is the default browser to open a html file, and open it with another browser? I'm having security issues on Chrome locally, but luckily the application I'm creating allowed me to run an air application 1st. So I am wondering could there be any work around for me to open the file in other browser other than Chrome?

Non-working cache.manifest on iPad and Safari Desktop

I'm trying to create an offline version of a test web app.
This far it had been working perfectly on Chrome and Firefox where I do most of my tests. Meaning I can go to the page, the console is all good, and then when I unplug my ethernet cable (I'm hardcore like that) I can see still all of my page content in browser and in chrome://appcache-internals
Problems arise when I try to test it on the iPad, I go to my webpage, but then when going into Airplane mode it refuses to access the page saying I need an internet connection. So I decided to test on Safari (mac) which is the closest I have, and I do see an error in the console on the cache.manifest mime-type : Application Cache manifest had an incorrect MIME type: text/plain.
Problem is, I do have a .htaccess and it does specify AddType text/cache-manifest appcache manifest, but no. Even when I use a web sniffer on my cache.manifest file it comes out as text/plain, which I think might be the reason it's not getting read on the iPad/Safari.
Anyone can help me on this thing ? I'm completely stuck right now.
add to your manifest file NETWORK and FALLBACK blocks so it will look like this:
CACHE MANIFEST
# Version 1.0
NETWORK:
*
CACHE:
index.html
FALLBACK:
Check if you have Private Browsing enabled in Safari on your iPad:
Settings -> Safari -> Private Browsing
If it is enabled, disable it. When Private Browsing is enabled all cookies and other caching is disabled.
I had a similar problem. My app worked fine with internet disconnected both on Safari and Firefox running on the iMac and even on the iPhone in airplane mode. But when I tried to load it on the iPad in Airplane mode it just wouldn't work. When I turned off Private Browsing it worked! Still got the notice about turning off Aerplane Mode though. But it was possible to browse the App.
