How can we send attachment along with an ics file that are created from MVC application.
We are creating the meeting invitations with data fetched from application in ics format and then downloading for the user to click on it and open in outlook.So can we add an attachment also along with the ics file so that users wen open in outlook will see the attachment along with other details.
Please somebody help.
As per https://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc5545#section-3.8.1.1 or https://icalendar.org/iCalendar-RFC-5545/3-8-1-1-attachment.html, one can ATTACH by referring to the URL of the attachment.
An example given is:

Currently I have got Orbeon to send an email to me with a PDF and an XML attachment. Is there a way to get Orbean to also save the submitted form as PDF and XML files in a local (or remote) file share somewhere for further processing?
It's not possible to save to the filesystem at the moment. But you can use the send action to send XML and or PDF to a service.
I have a shared xls file in One Drive. Which i want to view though Excel Online.
The Link would be sent to users through mails. The user will open it in browser by clicking it.

Use WL.api to provide the path of the file stored on onedrive. This function returns a URL if it succeeds. You have to send this link through email. User will be able to view the invoice stored on your onedrive by clicking on this link using excel online.

if the file is hosted in the web. then checked it out the file link inside the email, maybe the generated file url is a relative path which did not contain the host information.
another solution maybe attach the file as an attachment inside the send email.
I have a Rails application setup to receive file attachments using Paperclip.
Now I need to allow a .net/C# cell phone application to post files along with the XML in the same way (or some other way if necessary: they could encode the image as base64 and send - they tried that initially - including the binary data in the tag that would normally be a file field in the web application, but it did not work.
I have found nothing in the way of documentation and wondering if anybody has experience or advice.
Surprising that there is apparently no documentation for doing this anywhere to be found. I ended up stumbling across a document on the Basecamp website describing how their file attachment process works for API users and used it as a guideline.

I modified my initial setup so that, rather than passing the tag in the XML, they first post a file and receive an file ID in response.
Then they post the XML with that reference and their .
Then I use before_validation and after_save callbacks to set the file with Paperclip, and remove the tmp file after the save.
I have a document library with a workflow that dynamicly sets user permissions to edit these documents when certain criteria is met.
The users who need to edit these items are not the brightest users, so to make it failsafe and simple for them I am customizing the DispForm.aspx to only show 2 fields in the Document Library.
"Document" - Name of the document which is a link that opens the document in MS Word.
"Done?" - Yes/No tickbox.
The user gets an e-mail when they have a task assigned; the e-mail contains an URL to the custom DispForm.aspx, the user clicks the link and voila, they see the customized DispForm.aspx with only 2 fields, they know exactly what to do because they won't get distracted by an information-overdose and the only thing the user has to do is click on the document so it would open in Word, user makes changes to document, saves, ticks "yes" in the "Done?" tickbox and the next workflow starts.
Now I'm having this particular problem, when I customize the document library's DispForm.aspx in Sharepoint Designer and add a custom Sharepoint control (Custom Document Library listform) it does not contain the Name field (which contains the URL). I can manually add that link in Sharepoint Designer but then the document gets opened in the web version of Word and if the user wants to save it, it saves to the local harddrive, instead of the Document Library.
What am I doing wrong? How can I include the right URL to a document in a customized DispForm of a document library which opens the document in Word and saves to the Document library and creates a draft version?
Suggestions, tips or other solutions VERY welcome!
