I have installed jenkins on my azure vm.
I have installed the jenkins plugin "Generic Webhook Trigger"
I have created a freestyle build item :
in the section "Build Triggers" I have check "Generic Webhook Trigger"
in the section "Source Code Management", set my repository url to the repository to watch
When I open a browser and type the following url in the adress bar : http://JENKINSURL/generic-webhook-trigger/invoke
A build is triggered on jenkins
But what I would like to do, is trigger a build not by typing this url in a browser adress bar but by pushing some code modifications on a repository, to do that I have add a webhook
in the settings of my bitbucket repository :
the url is the same as before : http://JENKINSURL/generic-webhook-trigger/invoke
the status is active
the checkbox skip certificate verification is checked
the triggers selected is "Repository push"
With all of that, when I do a push on the repository, a request is made to my jenkins server but not build is trigger and when I go to the request detail on bitbucket, I see that I get a 404 http status as response.
I don't understand what to add to trigger the jenkins build from a bitbucket code push
I think you have to add a token in the generic webhook trigger settings. This token is added to you url in Bitbucket also.

I am trying to trigger jenkins pipeline on gitlab push to branch and tag.
Using Jenkins ver. 2.176.2 and gitlab version 10.7.3-ee.
Although I have supposedly set up the webhooks properly, I do not see the jenkins job being triggered.
I have installed the gitlab plugin for jenkins, and configured the gitlab server, including the Personal Access Token for GitLab APIs access generated in gitlab.
I have defined the webhook (currently requesting trigger on all events). (for testing, ssl verification is off).
When testing the webhook in gitlab, I consistently receive HTTP error 500.
In jenkins pipeline job, I have selected "build when change is pushed to gitlab. gitlab webhook..." - this is the URL I used when defining the webhook in gitlab, under "integrations" section.
When pushing to gitlab, I see no event listed under "integrations -> recent deliveries",
I see no log under jenkins logs "com.dabsquared.gitlabjenkins" logger (set to log level "FINEST".
And lastly, the pipeline job is not triggered as I expected.
Any leads will be very helpful.
Adding printscreen of the Jenkins configuration of the gitlab for reference to the comment I added on possibility this is issue with the personal access token
Jenkins gitlab server configuration
Go to Settings of Gitlab Project -> Integrations and type in the Jenkins Job project url in 'URL'. URL should take either form:
http://JENKINS_URL/project/PROJECT_NAME
http://JENKINS_URL/project/FOLDER/PROJECT_NAME
Notice that the url does not contain "job" within it and instead uses "project".
Make sure under Triggers, you have "Push Events" checked as well if you want the job to trigger whenever someone pushes a commit.
Finally, run a build against your Jenkinsfile first before testing the webhook so Jenkins will pick-up the trigger settings for Gitlab.

I'm having trouble getting my webhook in bitbucket server to start a Jenkins job. I've read through the other answered questions on here and can't get it going.
Bitbucket setup:
No special plugins installed
In repository settings I have a webhook set up
URL: http://[my jenkins url]/bitbucket-hook/ (yes I have the trailing slash)
Repo Push event selected
Jenkins setup:
Bitbucket plugin installed
Created new job
Set SCM to Git and added repo details
Set branches to build to either ** or refs/heads/rob-jenkins (a branch in git)
Build when a change is pushed to bitbucket selected
What I do:
I make a change to a file in rob-jenkins branch, push and the job is not started in Jenkins.
What I see:
In bitbucket, repo settings, webhooks I can see the webhook fired as soon as the commit is pushed. It has a 200 http status code, response body is empty.
In Jenkins I've set up a logger for
com.cloudbees.jenkins.plugins.BitbucketHookReceiver
com.cloudbees.jenkins.plugins.BitbucketJobProbe
com.cloudbees.jenkins.plugins.BitbucketPayloadProcessor
com.cloudbees.jenkins.plugins.BitBucketTrigger
And when I look at those logs I can see only 1 entry from com.cloudbees.jenkins.plugins.BitbucketHookReceiver
Received commit hook notification : {"eventKey":"repo:refs_changed","date":"2018-05-22T12:18:11+1000","actor":{"name":"xxxxxx","emailAddress":"xxxxxx#xxxxxx.com","id":53,"displayName":"xxxxxx","active":true,"slug":"xxxxxxx","type":"NORMAL"},"repository":{"slug":"xxxxx","id":1,"name":"xxxxx","scmId":"git","state":"AVAILABLE","statusMessage":"Available","forkable":true,"project":{"key":"SS","id":2,"name":"xxxxx","description":"xxxxxx","public":false,"type":"NORMAL"},"public":false},"changes":[{"ref":{"id":"refs/heads/rob-jenkins","displayId":"rob-jenkins","type":"BRANCH"},"refId":"refs/heads/rob-jenkins","fromHash":"1d9ad42fa404c893853094b0072e5b839f787589","toHash":"9bf7dc873f355259e4338ee80afbd246ecbb48a9","type":"UPDATE"}]}
There are no other entries in the log.
In the job itself, the BitBucket Hook Log screen just says "Polling has not run yet."
No idea why it isn't triggering the Jenkins job... what am I missing?
I've tried setting the Poll SCM manually and that didn't make a difference.
I've done a manual build and it works fine
as commented by #tomas-bjerre the resolution was to use a different plugin
I would recommend using thie plugin instead: github.com/jenkinsci/generic-webhook-trigger-plugin – Tomas Bjerre yesterday
No plugin needed. Just add a post-recieve hook under your repo in Bitbucket. On Jenkins, under Build Triggers, Trigger builds remotely (e.g., from scripts) Trigger builds remotely (e.g., from scripts) and specify an Authentication Token. A bash or python script can be used for the hook. Anytime a git push is run (not just a commit), you trigger a build!
I am using Jenkins and BitBucket integrations.
I want to trigger a build when a PR is created. I created a webhook on bitbucket it's returning 200 response but no build is getting triggered. I have enabled "Build when a change is pushed to BitBucket" option in the build configuration.
you can use Generic Webhook Trigger Plugin.
You can integrate this plug-in with bitbucket and it will give you payload which contains all the data regarding webhook which you need to process.

I try to configure Jenkins. I want a simple behavior: trigger a build on new pull request.
So, I created a job and configured it, but I checked the checkbox for:
And as you can see nothing is dropped down.
If I click the question mark on the right side, I see:
If jenkins will receive PUSH GitHub hook from repo defined in Git SCM
section it will trigger Git SCM polling logic. So polling logic in
fact belongs to Git SCM.
But where is the "Git SCM section"?
You need to configure the webhook on your GitHub repository. Then, on every commit push, Jenkins will be notified.
So, open your repository in the browser, then go to Settings > Webhooks and add a new one.
Then, enter the URL of your Jenkins instance followed by /github-webhook and select the other options depending on your needs:
I was also frustrated with this topic, this was needed for me to get job triggering working from GitHub MERGE:
GitHub repo -> Settings -> Webhooks -> push type webhook with URL:
http(s)://host:<port>/github-webhook/
For me, last slash was REQUIRED, did not work without it
In Jenkins System Settings, add GitHub Server, credential for it and [x] Manage hooks
Use Test settings button to test it works
In Job configuration, Source Code Management -> Git, add repo and credentials
Under Build triggers: [x] GitHub hook trigger for GITScm polling
In GitHub webhook settings, click webhook and it shows logs how it worked under "Recent Deliveries" title
It is a source code management section (before triggering section),
uncheck "none" case and check git ou github case(depend to your version) and fill the input field with your git repo url and credential
I need to integrate Bitbucket with Jenkins. So that whenever a PR is opened it will trigger a build in Jenkins. Then commit status of the last commit in the PR will be updated as failed or success and this commit wont trigger the build again. (This works beautiful with Github but seems to be a nightmare for me with Bitbucket)
So far I did:
Installed Bitbucket pull request builder plugin.
Set everything up like its described in https://github.com/jenkinsci/bitbucket-pullrequest-builder-plugin#readme
User has write permissions to the repository (we added shh pub key to organization and its in the group that has write permissions)
Problems
Build is triggered over and over again for the same PR/commit
Commit status is not updated on bitbucket
Let me know if I can provide more information.
In my case, the Jenkins URL was set to http://jenkins:8080 and when such a URL was sent to BitBucket via their API, BitBucket returned the error "Invalid URL" (Look in Jenkins Logs: http://yourjenkins:8080/log/all) Which is not handled by the BitBucket Pull Request Builder plugin and thus kept continuously rebuilding all of our pull requests because it thought that build was not in progress. After setting Jenkins URL to http://jenkins.domain.tld:8080/ or http:///jenkins, the BitBucket API started accepting the URL and everything started to work.
But in your case it may be possible that some other error is the cause. You can check your Jenkins Error log to see the failure.
See the following issue: Build status notification fails with Enter a valid URL
