Attempted to track usage of AR content in S3 (without S3).
Am trying to create referral campaign links in PixelMe .
When opening the content it opens an image of the item and and not the content itself.
Here's an example of a pixelme to USDZ link: https://pxlme.me/WnJ8WjY3
Here's an example of a pixelme to GLB link: https://pxlme.me/wK5w0S7G
Here's an example of the embedded iFrame:
<model-viewer style="width:100%;height:100%" src="GLB LINK GOES HERE"
ar auto-rotate camera-controls alt="A 3D model designed by us"
background-color="#FFF" ios-src="USDZ LINK GOES HERE" magic-leap unstable-webxr>
</model-viewer>
When integrating with Google's Model Viewer it says "object could not be opened".
How can I use referral links with AR Quick Look?
The reason something like PixelMe won't work with USDZ and GLB is because Pixelme and any ad targeting/retargeting rely on embedding a line of html into your page that loads a 1x1 pixel image from a remote server.
GLB files are binary files that will serve the images loaded into them. USDZ files are zip files of Pixar's USD format. Neither format supports adding html into it.
If you are looking to track usage of the AR Quick Look use a traditional tool like Google Analytics or any other web analytics tool that can track clicks. The only thing you need to filter for is users running iOS 12+. Any user on iOS 12+ who clicks the link will see the AR Quick Look.

I would like to upload the pdf of a paper on my new google site. Specifically, I want that people can click on, say, "paper_title" and can visualize the pdf and, if they want, download it.
I would like if possible a step-by-step explanation.
Thanks!
This is fairly straightforwards:
Firstly, store the PDF files on Google Drive and, set the link sharing as appropriate (e.g. anyone with link can view) so even anonymous internet users can see the file.
To make the PDF available via Google Sites you can either:
From Drive, copy the link to the file, and in new Sites insert a text box and
include the hyperlink to the PDF file in the text box.
in new Sites Insert (From Drive) and select the PDF file from the Google Drive; gives the same result as above, but with a re-sizable thumbnail picture of the PDF file instead of a link.
Exactly what happens after they click on the link is going to depend upon what browser the user is using, and what (if any) PDF viewer plugin is installed. Chrome, pretty much does what you want: it opens the PDF file in a viewer, from where you can download it.
Even if you don't store the PDF on Google Drive, what is described above should still work, as long as you have a hyperlink to the PDF file.
For my business I need to be able to show a potential client a website I generate with a program called Pano2VR, which is a virtual tour program. This program takes some panoramic photos linked with each other and can generate a virtual tour out of them (as example: www.casas-fotoart.de/virtualtours ). The output this App gives can be either HTML5, Flash or both (flash if available and html5 for mobile devices, for example).
I need to be able to show that on my iPad while offline. i haven't found any solution for that so I tried to build a easy App for that, which I thought it wouldn't be complicated.
I generated a html5-only virtual tour and I droped the output into the "Suporting Files" group on the Xcode project. I added a UIWebView and on viewDidLoad I set it so it loads the html file.
The files I'm droping are like these (these inside the ipad folder):
The html file loads into the webView, but it just displays "This content requires HTML5/CSS3, WebGL, or Adobe Flash Player Version 9 or higher.", even though when loading these files from the net, it loads perfectly. I know this message comes from the html file.
Any idea on how to make it work will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Your problem is this probably - XCode is mangling the JS files, I assume because it's trying to compile them
I need to individualize documents within an iOS-App. I could provide the origin-documents as DOCX, PDF, PPT etc. The output-format has to be PDF.
My minimun requirement is to fill some text-fields. Nice to have would be to replace an image, too.
I´m quite used to generate PDFs programmatically using UIGraphicsBeginPDFContextToFile etc. But in my current case I don´t want to create the whole document programmatically, I just want to replace some content.
Any hints / tipps?
Thank you in advance.
DOCX is a zip - format file so you can process the contents programmatically and the reconstruct the zip file. PPT is a binary format though newer versions of PowerPoint might also construct zip-oriented versions that you can programmatically process. You mentioned though that you need don't want to programmatically process these documents - which I would probably also do only as a last resort.
For your DOCX origin/source documents (or doc, odt, rtf but not ppt/pdf) you could use Docmosis cloud services if your app can have the external dependency. You would upload your DOCX origin documents with placeholders for text-fields or images as a one-off/occasional task. Your iOS app then calls Docmosis sending instructions and data to create the output PDF and either stream it back to the app or email/store it or both.
The upside is it takes all the load and coding away from the iOS application (there is an SDK). The downside is it is an external depdendency. Please note I work for the company the created Docmosis.
Hope that helps.
Why not just load a page in a webView modal that points to a URL of a page you create? The main parts of the page would be static, and then the fields you need to customize would be populated via Javascript or PHP.
For example, we have a contact form in our app that gives you an option to view the details of your completed form after you submit. When the user clicks on the button to view the Contact Confirmation, it loads example.com/confirmation.php in a modal view within the iOS App.
On the confirmation.php page (on the web), I use PHP to pull in $_GET variables from the URL parameters which then populates the page with my static content, and their customized information that they entered into the form.
I am a newbie in iPhone development. I am planning to do a PDF application for iPhone. The functionality is:
User will type their input in a text field (which is going to be the content of the PDF file).
I have to modify the PDF file through code while saving (paragraphs, tables, bullets etc).
User can save it in their own name.
User can send the PDF file as attachment of MFMailComposer.
So I have searched and got many links. However I didn't find any leading details to create and modify a PDF file in iPhone/iPad.
Can anyone please provide me a good reference to do this. Are there any alternatives to do this?
I've used this reference: https://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#documentation/GraphicsImaging/Conceptual/drawingwithquartz2d/dq_pdf/dq_pdf.html
It contains theoretical explanations and source code examples

If you were doing a Phonegap app I'd say got for jsPDF, which would enable you to create (basic) PDF files in Javascript. I don't do Obj-C, but a quick look on SO provides good links.
I'm creating a document viewing web application. You log in and it takes you to a screen where you have all your docs listed on the left. I want to make it so that when you roll over a document a preview of the document shows up on the right. From there you can click on it for a full view and printing capabilities. I'm not asking how to do all that but I'm wondering what the best way would be to go about rendering the preview of the document. The documents are all going to be pdfs and stored on a server. I'm working in asp.net 3.5 mvc in visual studios 2008.
For creating the PDF preview, first have a look at some other discussions on the subject on StackOverflow:
How can I take preview of documents?
Get a preview jpeg of a pdf on windows?
If these don't answer your question, you can try a couple more things:
You can get a commercial renderer (PDFViewForNet, PDFRasterizer.NET, ABCPDF, ActivePDF, ...).
Most are fairly expensive though, especially if all you care about is making thumbnails.
There is a CodeProject article that shows how to use the Adobe ActiveX, but it may be out of date, easily broken by new releases and its legality is murky.
Install GhostScript on the server and request rendered thumbnails of any page from it.
I did a small project that you will find on the Developer Express forums as an attachment.
Be careful of the license requirements for GhostScript through.
I use it for an internal software and it's working pretty well.
Hope this helps.
Here
I render the jpeg thumbnails of the first page of the pdf document when a file is uploaded.
When the user clicks he can download the document (or open them direcly in the browser) to read and print them.
Update: to create the thumbnails I used a .net component called PDFView4NET from O2Solutions
