So I am trying to install paperclip, image magick and mimemagic.
I successfully installed imagemagic.
Upon installing paperclip, it loops the error to the ff:
Bundler could not find compatible versions for gem "mimemagic":
In snapshot (Gemfile.lock):
mimemagic (= 0.3.3)
In Gemfile:
rails (~> 5.2.4) was resolved to 5.2.4, which depends on
activestorage (= 5.2.4) was resolved to 5.2.4, which depends on
marcel (~> 0.3.1) was resolved to 0.3.3, which depends on
mimemagic (~> 0.3.2)
paperclip (~> 4.3, >= 4.3.6) was resolved to 4.3.7, which depends on
mimemagic (= 0.3.0)
Running `bundle update` will rebuild your snapshot from scratch, using only
the gems in your Gemfile, which may resolve the conflict.
Then if I run bundle update:
Bundler could not find compatible versions for gem "mimemagic":
In Gemfile:
mimemagic (~> 0.3.1)
paperclip (~> 4.3, >= 4.3.6) was resolved to 4.3.7, which depends on

RUBY VERSION
ruby 2.6.0p0
BUNDLED WITH
1.17.3
I am pretty sure that the imagemagick is installed cause when i run magick -version it show the version of the app. I am really thinking how to solve this. Any idea how to solve this problem?
Bundler is not able to resolve the dependencies because 'mimemagic' gem's version is a conflict between rails and paperclip gems.
As you can see in the logs, rails v5 requires mimemagic to be in v0.3.2 and paperclip v4 requires mimemagic to be in v0.3.0.
To solve this case take either of the two approaches below:
upgrade paperclip to higher version which supports mimemagic v0.3.2
downgrade the rails version to support mimemagic v0.3.0
Also explicitly you specified in your Gemfile that the mimemagic version to be ~> 0.3.1 which doesn't satisfy either rails or paperclip. As long as it is not intentional for any other purpose, it can be changed/removed accordingly.

I want to do components from Bootstrap V 4.0 and more and the actual results is components from Bootstraps 3.3.7.
When I try to Gem Update, this is what I obtain:
ERROR: While executing gem ... (Gem::RemoteFetcher::FetchError)
server did not return a valid file (http://gems.rubyforge.org/specs.4.8.gz)
I install Bootstrap but I started to work on Bootstrap 3.3.7 and update to 4.0. I have problems since.

RUBY VERSION
ruby 2.4.4p296
BUNDLED WITH

#valentine just remove gem.lock and then do bundle install i think that should fix that error i dont have enough points to comment so writing it in answer
Looks like a conflict between theses
gem 'bootstrap-sass'
gem 'bootstrap', '~> 4.3.1'
Bootstrap 4 is written in Sass, that was not the case in the version 3 (in less).
remove bootstrap-sass
Run bundle install again
Have a look at this step by step guide
https://medium.com/#biancapower/how-to-add-bootstrap-4-to-a-rails-5-app-650118459a1e
When i startup the server i get these errors:

RUBY VERSION
ruby 2.4.4p296
BUNDLED WITH
1.16.3
If you read the errors it's telling you that bootstrap and bootstrap-sass are conflicting. Why are you using both?
gem 'bootstrap-sass'
gem 'bootstrap'
Try just deleting the line gem 'bootstrap' and run bundle. The bootstrap-sass gem is a SASS ready version of bootstrap so you only want one or the other. Also the latest bootstrap gem is for Bootstrap 4, the bootstrap-sass gem is for Bootstrap 3 or 2. So depending which version of Bootstrap you want, pick the appropriate gem.
I keep getting this error. The full text is as follows:
$ rails g petergate:install
Running via Spring preloader in process 96515
Could not find generator 'petergate:install'. Maybe you meant 'devise:install', 'responders:install' or 'integration_test'
Run `rails generate --help` for more options.
I've already run bundle install. The gem is installed and within my gem directory. I know it shouldn't make a difference, but Devise is installed and my user model is called user.rb.
Oddly enough, when I try and replicate the problem, by creating a new app and installing devise then petergate, the generation works.
I've tried uninstalling petergate, taking it out of my bundle and putting it back in again, every combination of bundle/bundle install/bundle update, moving it to the top of the gemfile, trying rails generate rather than rails g , rebooting my computer, but nothing seems to be working.
My Gemfile is as follows:

Does anyone have any ideas on what this could be? I'm tearing my hair out.
Okay, so I sort of ended up solving this, here's how. It's a very very hacky solution, but when all else fails...
Since it was working on a fresh, new app, I made a commit to this new app before running petergate:install and after. I then pushed up to github and compared the two.
The changes are actually very simple - a small migration, a bit of text added to your User.rb model. So I did the same things. And hey presto, it's now working, and interactions with the gem are too, so I'm not sure what the problem was.
On a more complicated gem where you're likely to need other command-line functionality in the future, or where install makes a ton of changes, this is more likely to be an issue, but on a simple gem like this, it's seemed to work okay.
Hope this helps anyone having the same (or a similar) problem.

BUNDLED WITH

Committed my changes and pushed them. Then, I have pushed the master branch to Heroku with git push heroku but I'm still getting:
/app/vendor/bundle/ruby/2.3.0/gems/activerecord-5.1.5/lib/active_record/connection_adapters/connection_specification.rb:188:in `rescue in spec': Specified 'sqlite3' for database adapter, but the gem is not loaded. Add `gem 'sqlite3'` to your Gemfile (and ensure its version is at the minimum required by ActiveRecord). (Gem::LoadError)
when I want to restart my dyno at Heroku.
The production block for your database in database.yml should look something like this, change out the xxxx with your matching values which should already be in the file, they should be in the other blocks (production, test). The adapter needs to be changed.
production:
adapter: postgresql <--- This is the important part
encoding: unicode
database: xxxxxxx
username: xxxxxxx
password: <%= ENV['xxxxxx'] %>
Trying to use the cap production deploy on my first hosted rails app. I've run into the error message below and hoping someone can help.
Error Message:
DEBUG [86275c15] Your Gemfile.lock is corrupt. The following gem is missing from the DEPENDENCIES
section: 'nokogiri'
I have Removed nokogiri from my gemfile and the lock file. I've tried everything. Read similar error messages, but cannot get cap production deploy to work.

BUNDLED WITH
1.12.5
Apparently, this is due to a Bundler issue. s01ipsist's answer on Travis reports odd message of corrupted Gemfile.lock suggests using Bundler 1.10.6. Bundler's issue #4467: Your Gemfile.lock is corrupt. The following gem is missing from the DEPENDENCIES section also suggests using 1.10.6.
I uninstalled all versions of Bundler then installed 1.10.6 only. Afterwards, a deploy to Heroku passed.
