We are struggling to find a way to use Contentful webbooks with Jenkins because we want to build a new page/content on contentful without manually deploying.
I didn't find useful/relevant information so far. Does anybody know if it's possible?
Thank you,
I suggest you combine the generic webhook plugin with a custom Contentful Webhook.
You first need to configure the generic webhook plugin in jenkins to trigger
the job you want.
Then you create a Contentful webhook pointing to your jenkins url
http://<YOUR JENKINS URL>/jenkins/generic-webhook-trigger/invoke
If you have multiple jobs in jenkins and you only want to trigger a specific one you can use tokens in your jenkins plugin config.
http://<YOUR JENKINS URL>/jenkins/generic-webhook-trigger/invoke?token=abc123

I'm trying to configure webhook between Jenkins and Bit bucket for a particular branch.
After this, Jenkins job should start if any changes happen in that specific branch, but the first job is triggering when changes happen for any branch.
After that, webhook is working as expected. It will create a problem to copy the existing job as new and forget to check the job trigger.
Is there anyone who faced any issues like this or am I doing any wrong configuration to setup webhook?
By using this Bitbucket Plugin you can specify the branch name as an option in your job configuration.
I have Jenkins Mutibranch pipeline. I want to integrate my Jira with one of multibranch project. I have installed the JIRA Trigger Plugin and configured Webhook in Jira. however, when I checked in my Jenkins job it does not show me the B***uild when an issue is updated in JIRA*** but it shows when I go to View Configuration in the particular branch. it allows me to select the Build when an issue is updated in JIRA but there is no option to save the changes. I know this might be a reason the option is view only. but how can I configure this?
Is anyone configured JIRA Trigger Plugin with Jenkins mutibranch project where using Jenkinsfile? and what is the correct way of integrating this?
Should I do some coding in the Jenkins file to get this done?
I have tons of existing Freestyle Jenkins jobs in my old Jenkins Instance and now I would like to migrate them to New Jenkins 2.0 pipeline jobs using a Jenkins file.
I am following this page to create a Jenkins file: https://jenkins.io/doc/book/pipeline/jenkinsfile/
Can someone please suggest me if there is any easy way (or) plugin i can use to convert these existing job's to pipeline view.
I haven't tried the plugin but while searching for same i came across this post:
https://jenkins.io/blog/2017/12/15/auto-convert-freestyle-jenkins-jobs-to-coded-pipeline/
Maybe this can help. Will update more after actually giving it a ago. You can go through and try by yourself as well.
don't think there is an automatic tool to convert jobs.
We created all new jobs with Jenkins DSL plugin
for the Jenkinsfile - we created some good examples of our basic flows and each team convert the relevant jobs.
I want to create a Jenkins job that starts other Jenkins jobs. That would be quite easy, because Jenkins Template Project Plugin allows us to create a build step of a type "use builders from another project". However, what makes my situation harder is that I have to start Jenkins jobs on other machines. Is there any standard way to do that?
In case you want only to trigger new build of Job You Have plenty of ways to accomplish it
you can use remote access API and Trigger a request to build target job from source Job.
https://wiki.jenkins-ci.org/display/JENKINS/Remote+access+API
Or you can use https://wiki.jenkins-ci.org/display/JENKINS/Parameterized+Remote+Trigger+Plugin
which is handy in handling server details and other stuff. you shoukld ensure ssh keys shared by both servers.
Can Jenkins detect when a new build is available on a Bamboo server?
What I want is to create a Jenkins job that checks a Bamboo server for a new build. I want this job to run once per hour.
Then, other tests that I have on that Jenkins server will rely on that check passing in order for them to kick off.
If this is possible, what is the usual way of doing this? The Bamboo server is internal and does not need authentication to see status of builds or get build resources.
If there is no plugin for this, I do see a RSS feed at this URI: /rss/createAllBuildsRssFeed.action?feedType=rssAll&buildKey=RELEASE . What method would other Jenkins administrators use to read this feed?
I figured out the answer myself. I wrote a Gradle unit test to run in Jenkins that can read the RSS feed in Bamboo.
The real way to do it though, which didn't answer my question, is to add a post-build hook to either Subverison or Bamboo to send a HTTP get request to Jenkins, which notifies a job to run.
