why new file from cocoa touch class yield a interface? - ios

with Xcode version 10.0 when I create a UIViewController from New -> File -> Cocoa Touch Class and subClass of UIViewController it will create a file that not editable and a (interface) tail?

You seem to be using the assistant editor. Just change the standard editor by selecting the leftmost option:
(this segmented control can be found on the top right. If you are in the assistant editor, the middle option should be selected)
Another way to close the assistant editor is to click on the cross (x) shown in your screenshot. Then you can open your new file using the left panel.
You can also switch to your actual file by clicking on the two circles and selecting "Manual -> ":

Controls Inspector Below Identity Inspector Missing in Xcode 10

I recently updated my Xcode 9 to Xcode 10.1. At the right bottom of the inspector pane for storyboard, the searchbox that always used to be there for finding controls such as ViewController, UIImageView, UITextfield etc. and dragging them to the storyboard is missing. I can't find it anywhere in the menu structure.
Does anyone know how to get it to display?
It goes top right, left to the Show Standard Editor button.
you can access it with shift + cmd + L too.
Don't forget to select a xib or storyboard file first.
And it name is Library by the way.

Xcode 8 view object library list hides behind the bar

I founded an error in storyboard in Xcode8. In Inspector area in show library bar "Show the File Template library" and "Show the Code Snippet library" buttons are working properly. But when I click "Show the Object library" button I see that first item of the list is partially hidden behind the buttonbar. Why top margin there is not working properly and how I can solve this issue?
Its not an issue with storyboard. Might be cursor moved with your hand due to that its appearing like that.

Macincloud ctrl and drag alternative for xamarin

I'm trying to create an iOS app by using Macincloud but here's my problem. I'm trying to use Ctrl and drag to set a new root controller in the storyboard but Macincloud wont allow you to do this. Instead it just moves the NavigationView around the screen.
Does anyone have a solution to this or at least an alternative way of using Ctrl and drag.
Thanks
From the MacInCloud website shortly after you posted this question:
Problem: When using MacinCloud, the Ctrl+Drag operation does not work properly.
Cause: This is a common issue associated with controlling the Mac through a remote client software such as Remote Desktop Connection. Please see the solution for the current workaround.
Workaround:
Move a Controller in Interface Builder
Double-clicking the object in the side bar
Move it using the arrow keys
Use Interface Builder to connect a view element to file owner
Right-clicking the element
The popup appears, drag the circle on the right hand side of the property to what you want to link to
Connect two controls in Main Space or Document Outlines (left pane)
Point to the Target Control
RightClick to open context menu with available Connection points
Select a Connection circle at the left side of menu, circle becames a "+"
Click the "+" sign and drag it to the Source Control
Release mouse to create new connection
Create and connect new outlet (Assistant Editor mode)
Create a New Outlet manually in the Assistant Editor pane
Point to the New Outlet in Connection Inspector (right pane)
Select the New Outlet circle at the left side of Connection Inspector, circle becames a "+"
Click the "+" sign and drag it to the Source Control in the IB

Is there a keyboard shortcut to switch between object inspector and form designer?

You can go from the form designer to the object inspector to the source editor in a circle using the F11 key:
Code -> Inspector -> Design -> Inspector -> Code -> Inspector -> ...
But most of the time when designing a form I only want:
Inspector <-> Design
I searched in the Delphi help and didn't find any suitable keyboard shortcut.
Is there a keyboard shortcut that does that?
Enter does exactly that. (It only took me about 10 years to figure that one out ...)
Some other useful keys:
Tab navigates the controls in their TabOrder while the form designer is focused.
Tab switches between name and value in the object inspector while it is focused.
Esc goes to the parent of the currently focused control in the form designer.
For all the other shortcuts see also (none of which lists Enter in the context of my question):

If you are inside the inspector editing a property, you can press F12 to go to the Source of active form (another F12 swich to design).
You can use also F11. Inside the property editor; F11 do the sequence:
Property Editor
Design
Property Editor
Source
Property Editor

How to successfully add an image in Storyboard in Xcode 6 in Swift?

I'm very new to Xcode (2 days) and so far I'm finding it fairly frustrating. I'm just trying to add an image to my app's ViewController via he Storyboard, but it does not appear on the simulator. Could someone assist me?
if you are trying an example project of XCode, you may find a "Images.xcassets" folder in project. Drag your image into this folder.
then go to storyboard, focus on your "Image View".
in the attributes list, "Image" field, you can choose the image in it's drop-down menu.
the try running in simulator
good luck!
Here are some details on xcode 10.
Edit the story board, create an image view. Wayne stated, add the image you want in the Images.xcassets.
Click on your image view:
Do View -> Inspectors -> Show Attribute Inspector
Select the image:
After loading your image in the " Assets.xcassets" folder you will need to find the "Attributes inspector" under your right side inspectors tab. Focus or click on your "Image view" that you have to place as a holder on the storyboard. On the right tab under the attributes inspector (looks like a down arrow next to the ruler) you can select your image from the drop-down selection. You may also want to change Content mode to Aspect Fit while you are there.
