How to sign app with iOS distribution certificate(p12) from another developer? - ios

I have iOS distribution certificate(p12 and private key files) from another developer.
How can I sign my app with this cetificate? I install it my keychain and now I can select right signing identity in xcode build settings tab, but can't select provision profile and development team.
What am I missing?

Can not validate iOS archive for distribution on test flight

I am trying to prepare an iOS app for distribution on test flight (and eventually on the app store).
The Apple developer account admin has sent me the .cer file and the .p12 private key (which they just created). I have added both to my keychain.
Inside of xcode organizer, I select the app and hit validate. I then subsequently select "Automatically manage signing" and hit next.
I am then presented with 4 errors.
This request is forbidden for security reasons. You do not currently
have access to the membership resource.
No signing certificate iOS distribution found. No "iOS distribution"
signing certificate with ID blah with a private key was found.
Team "my team" does not have permission to create iOS app store
provision profiles. Select a different team and try again.
No profiles for [my bundle id] were found. XCode couldn't find any iOS
app store provision profiles matching [my bundle id]
I was under the impression (from what I have read) that having both the distribution cert and the private key in my keychain would be sufficient to distribute the app.

Xcode Signing Failed to create provisioning profile

I subscribed to the App Developer program. I paid the fee. I've done Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles. I added the app to App Store Connect.
xcode signing
I am getting the errors above. I don't have an iPhone phone. I'm developing on my macbook computer.
xcode device
How can I resolve this error?
As I can see in image that "Automatically Manage Signing" is enabled for this Xcode project. So Xcode is trying to create the provisioning profile for you but not able to create it.
B'coz you need to add account in Xcode from Xcode -> Preferences -> Account -> Click on + icon at bottom to add a new developer account.
You need to create provisioning profiles.
Once you have created provisioning profile, download it and install on your machine.
Please make sure the certificate used in cretation of the provisioning profile must be in your machine's keychain.
If those certificates not installed in your keychiain then you will see certificate issue in Xcode.
But I would recommend to create provisioning profile manually from apple developer portal as you can see and mainly you can know that which certificate and devices are used in the profile.
You can create following provisioning profiles for your app.
Development Profile
You will be able to run/debug app on real device.
The device must be added into the profile.
This can be used for only development purpose.
Adhoc Profile
You will be able to install app on real device but not able to debug it.
The device must be added in profile to install app on it.
It acts as a release build but not a actually release build.
Generally develop send the adhoc build to client for testing of app.
App Store Profile
You will not able to run app on device using this profile.
It will be used to upload app on App Store or create the release build for distribution on App Store.

iOS Native Application - Requires a provisioning profile with the Push Notifications feature

I am supporting for one existing native iOS application. For this am able to generate IPA successfully from Xcode but while generating build from devops am facing the issue:
Requires a provisioning profile with the Push Notifications feature
How can I get past this error and build for my device?
A Provisioning Profile must be installed on each device your application code should run on. Each Development Provisioning Profile will contain a set of iPhone Development Certificates, Unique Device Identifiers and an App ID.
Devices specified in the Development Provisioning Profile can be used for testing only by those individuals whose Development Certificates are included in the profile. To create :
Login to the developer account connected to your project, and under Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles -> Profiles -> Register a New Provisioning Profile by clicking the add new button.
Choose for which purpose provisional profile is required.
a. For developement purpose. (the app can be downloaded only in registered devices if the application is in development stage. For this, The device UDID is required to be added in device list).
b. For distribution purpose ( The provisonal file required for uploading app in the app store)
After Selecting above, click continue.
Choose your Appid (i.e. Bundle id) from the list and click continue.
After registering, download the provisional profile (File with extension name.mobileprovision will get downloaded) and double click the file to the Xcode project to include the provisional certificate to be added.
you need to follow below steps
go to developer account
make provisioning profile for bundle identifier that you are using
Adhoc(test) or Distribution(production)
enable push notification
download the certificate
click on the certificate

How to add provison Profile Certificate in Xcode 8.2.1

I have added 2 new devices with their UDID in apple developer website and downloaded the Mobile provision profile Certificate with extension(.mobileProvision).Now I need to add this in XCODE 8 so that when i host my app in Diawi.com so the URL will work in the devices which I have added. But I am not able to drag or import or install it.PLease tell me how will it work.
Just double click on Mobile provision profile Certificate with extension(.mobileProvision) file. It will install automatically. After that close your XCode and reopen it. Then you can select that provision profile Certificate under Signing in Build Settings. Or in General tab Signing select your team and click on Automatically manage signing. it will start working.
1) First install the certificates both for development and distribution.
2) Then install your development and adhoc provisioning profile you created.
3) Now switch to Xcode and select target project and then select General tab. Here turn off the automatically manage signing.
If everything is right with certificates and provisioning profiles, then your provisioning profile should be listed in drop down list when you set profiles for debug and release.

Xcode 6 error when building app for release

I am having issues trying to achieve or even build a release build of an app I am working on. Whenever I try to build the app for release I get an error saying:
No provisioning profiles with a valid signing identity (i.e. certificate and private key pair) were found.
I have the cert for this profile on my computer but in the Developer Portal I only have a certificate for development. Is this causing this error to occur? Do I need to have a Distribution cert to be able to build for release? Any help would be appreciated.
Note: I am a developer(team member) for a company so I do not have direct access to the Apple Developer Portal.
I know provisioning profiles are a pain :) This is what I do to stay organize and develop/distribute my projects:
The developer portal (not xcode) contains the most accurate source of profiles. For example, imagine you created a merchant certificate, turned on apple pay, and then generated a provisioning profile. Then let's say you decide you no longer want to use apple pay - the act of turning it off actually invalidates the provisioning profile. You will see a yellow "invalid" warning in the developer portal, but the provisioning profile may still be available in xcode! Really annoying. So I would always make sure that your provisioning profile is valid in the developer profile before distributing an app.
In the developer portal, always make sure you have two distribution profiles -- one ad hoc to use with testflight, and one to distribute to the apple store. You should also have one developer profile to build and debug your code.
Once you have your profiles set up, go into xcode and refresh the provisioning profiles as described here: https://developer.apple.com/library/mac/documentation/IDEs/Conceptual/AppDistributionGuide/MaintainingProfiles/MaintainingProfiles.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/TP40012582-CH30-SW26. I.e. go to preferences, accounts, view details..., and click the refresh button on the bottom left hand corner.
Now that xcode's provisioning profiles are updated, you need to now code sign with the right profiles. To do so, go into your project settings, and go into build settings for both the project and the target. Under debug, select your iOS development certificate. Under release, select your iOS distribution certificate. Under provisioning profile, you will want to select your development profile just to build on your device and debug, your ad hoc distribution profile if you want to archive the project and send it via testflight, or your apple store distribution profile if you want to archive the project and submit it to the apple store.
A few things to note, is that when you are creating the provisioning profiles, you need to specify the certificate you are dealing with. So if you are creating one of the two distribution profiles, you will need to select your iOS distribution certificate. And when you select ad hoc distribution, will need to select the devices that you want to be able to distribute too. Testflight will help you register the devices that you want to distribute to, and once registered, you will be able to select those devices to add them to the provisioning profile. If the certificate you select in xcode was not used to generate the provisioning profile you selected in xcode, then you will probably get the error you mentioned. Think of the provisioning profile as the link from you as a developer (i.e. your certificate) and/or your devices to your app id (i.e. your project).
