How to change template page in Umbraco - umbraco

I have created tamplate page, I have checked it as an allowed template in my document type and I'm still getting error:
Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.
Requested URL: /Views/New.cshtml

You cannot access a template directly at its URL. Templates are used by documents (content) to render that specific document in a particular way.
So you would need to create a document from the document type and then access it at the URL that this document is given. Then it will render the page - using the template you have selected.

Dynamically construct url in swagger for each operation

I Check the swagger and we can have URL dynamically for various site based on Server specified. But i have doubt whether is it possible to construct URL dynamically for each operation similar like this
http://{serverurl}/{tagName}/{operation}
I know that server url can be configured at the top of swagger.json but how can we configure/add tag name to the URL dynamically.
Example:
consider i have following scenario
I have following tags,
customer
user
admin
Each tags have various operations associated with them, I need to add the tag name along with operation name dynamically in swagger URL as following
If the operation is getRecentActivity it need to be like
http://www.example.com/{tagname}/{operation}
which is similar like
http://www.example.com/customer/getRecentActivity
Note:- My configuration is in such a way, i know i can directly specify it in path itself by i required it to generate dynamically based on tag name

W3C validator says 'feed does not validate' 'url must be a full URL'... whats wrong with it?

Validating my feed, it has an enclosure with a URL of
https://archive.org/download/NigelFarageAPersonalMessageToNorthernIrelandVoters./Nigel%20Farage,%20a%20personal%20message%20to%20Northern%20Ireland%20voters..mp3
I know it is a bit convoluted... but what is wrong with it? The stop in the directory name? the double dot in the file name? the comma? all of em?
I have looked at the RFC on URL's but cant make it out(!).
This feed does not validate.
line 441, column 2: url must be a full URL: https://archive.org/download/NigelFarageAPersonalMessageToNorthernIrelandVoters./Nigel%20Farage,%20a%20personal%20message%20to%20Northern%20Ireland%20voters..mp3 (4 occurrences) [help]
<enclosure type="audio/mpeg" url="https://archive.org/download/NigelFarage ...

A useful (even if incorrect) answer was added (and removed...) showing the result from the w3c URL validator - https://validator.w3.org/checklink
This Link Checker looks for issues in links, anchors and referenced objects in a Web page, CSS style sheet, or recursively on a whole Web site. For best results, it is recommended to first ensure that the documents checked use Valid (X)HTML Markup and CSS. The Link Checker is part of the W3C's validators and Quality Web tools.
If you find this question, you may find the link checker a useful resource!
The problem seems to be that it’s a HTTPS URL instead of a HTTP URL.
The linked error documentation, foo attribute of bar must be a full URL, says:
If this is a link to a web page, you must include the "http://" at the beginning and immediately follow it with a valid domain name.
The RSS 2.0 spec says about <enclosure>:
The url must be an http url.
If you change https://archive.org/download/… to http://archive.org/download/…, it validates.
And if you don't have httpS then your SSL says your page isn't secure. #feedvalidator step up. There are a ton of feedback/complaints about this on the support forum here https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/feedvalidator-users
More specifically here: https://github.com/rubys/feedvalidator/issues/16

hash tags in urls and hyperlinks

I created a hyperlink to a file. the file name contains hashtags as a means to separate information.
<div style="height:100%;width:100%">.</div>
translated to...
http://localhost/dir/upload/1427853638#0#file#A101.pdf
Is this a "legal" name in a URL? Im getting a "file not found" error
The requested URL /dir/upload/1427853638 was not found on this server.
So, clearly the # has another meaning in the URL (I understand now, its a location hash property). Is there a way to get this to work, or do i need to use another character besides the # in the file names?
Since # is a special character in the URL semantic (it's used to provide an internal anchor in a HTML page), it should be URL-encoded into %23.
Your URL should be: http://localhost/dir/upload/1427853638%230%23file%23A101.pdf.
NB: you can find an online URL encoder here: http://meyerweb.com/eric/tools/dencoder/

Dynamically creating web page (using portion of URL as a variable)

In a site I'm developing I have a page that presents a post based on the variable in the url:
http://www.mywebsite.com?id=18
So this would load the post who's ID is 18 in the mySQL database.
I would like the create the same effect, but with the url being something like:
http://www.mywebsite.com/articles/title-of-article-18/
Would there be a way to create these pages on the fly with dynamic post content, where the url would originally be created by:
"http://www.mywebsite.com/articles/" + postTitle
You are looking for mod_rewrite and rewriting of urls via htaccess.
What it does is it takes patterns from your url, and the htaccess file detects the pattern redirects that to http://www.mywebsite.com?id=18. Users still see the nice url.
The directory /articles/title-of-article-18/ will not actually exist, and the user never really reaches that location because the htaccess secretly changes the url that the server processes.
See

or a random tutorial I found:

How do I avoid that ASP.Net (or IIS?) decodes my URL-encoded ciphertext (resulting in a 404) instead of passing it to the Approve script?

I'm working on a piece of a web application in ASP.Net MVC where the user registers for membership using an sql membership provider. When they register they are put in the system but not approved. The code then sends an approval email to the user with the email given.
BfEncrypt refid = new BfEncrypt();
refid.Encrypt(user.ReferenceID);
string code = HttpContext.Current.Server.UrlEncode(refid.CipherText);
...
Body += "Approval Link\n\r\n\r";
But when a user clicks on the link they get the following error:
Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies)
could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.
Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.
Requested URL: /Approve/k/9IHrY43os=
The question is, if I'm url encoding the link before I send it, why is it decoding before it tries to call the action? The url in my browser is actually 'http://localhost:1091/Approve/k%2f9IHrY43os%3d' when I get the error. My routing is setup correctly but it doesn't account for the extra '/' in the encrypted string in the url (since it shouldn't be there anyways.)
You could encode it as base64 instead of using URLEncode.
