can't run helm command in container - docker

I built a docker image to run helm in container.

I have put kubeconfig to default path ~/.kube/config, and I am fine to run helm commands locally
But when run helm command within container, i got below error:
$ docker run -ti --rm -v ~/.kube:/root/.kube -v $(pwd):/apps helm list
Error: Get https://xxxx.yl4.us-west-2.eks.amazonaws.com/api/v1/namespaces/kube-system/pods?labelSelector=app%3Dhelm%2Cname%3Dtiller: dial tcp 10.xxx.7.xxx:443: i/o timeout
Anything I can check?

Docker image doesn't find the path to make work a cmd bash.sh file

I have built a Docker image which calls a bash file and processes some files in a specific folder, but I can't manage to make it run/work. I have tried different approaches but cannot find where the issue is. Building an image with
docker build -t user/mycontainer .
works, but the bash script doesn't run when I
docker run mycontainer `pwd`:/app
Instead it produces an error:
docker: Error response from daemon: OCI runtime create failed: container_linux.go:380: starting container process caused: exec: "/path/c/to/where/i/run/teh/docker:/app": stat /path/c/to/where/i/run/teh/docker:/app: no such file or directory: unknown.
When I run docker ps there aren't any containers, but if I docker ps -a the container just built appears.
I try running
docker exec -it <container id build> bash
and I get a different error response from daemon:
Container <container id build> is not running
The docker image seems to build all the dependencies and the bash code works when run it separately in my local within the folder.
My dockerfile looks:

Run Python scripts on command line running Docker images

I built a docker image using Dockerfile with Python and some libraries inside (no my project code inside). In my local work dir, there are some scripts to be run on the docker. So, here what I did
$ cd /path/to/my_workdir
$ docker run -it --name test -v `pwd`:`pwd` -w `pwd` my/code:test python src/main.py --config=test --results-dir=/home/me/Results
The command python src/main.py --config=test --results-dir=/home/me/Results is what I want to run inside the Docker container.
However, it returns,
/home/docker/miniconda3/bin/python: /home/docker/miniconda3/bin/python: cannot execute binary file
How can I fix it and run my code?

You can run a python script in docker by adding this to your docker file:

catalina.sh on Alpine dockerimage doesn´t start

I have this Dockerfile which is an alpine image with tomcat and Java.
Thing is I can´t run the catalina.sh script when I run the container in detached mode. I get following error:
$ docker run -d --name login2 -p 8080:8080 alpine:login-o365

C:\Program Files\Docker Toolbox\docker.exe: Error response from daemon: OCI runtime create failed: container_linux.go:348: starting container process caused "exec: \"/opt/tomcat/bin\": permission denied": unknown.
After this error I Access the container manually and I check that catalina.sh located in /opt/tomcat/bin has perfectly set the permissions as follow:

What can it be this error? Is this something related to alpine which is a smaller image or what? This is the Dockerfile that I have:

Docker Container port issue: Not able to access tomcat url using host ip

I am new to Docker, I have setup Docker Container on an Amazon Linux box.
I have a docker file which installs tomcat java and a war.
I can see all the installations present in the docker container when I navigate through the container in the exact folders I have mentioned in the Docker file.
When I run the Docker container it says tomcat server has started and I have also tailed the logs so I can see the service is running.
But when I open the host IP URL and 8080 port it says URL can't be reached.
These are the commands to build and run the file which works fine and I can see the status as running.
docker build -t friendly1 .
docker run -p 8080:8080 friendly1
What am I missing here? Request some help on this.

I build an image from this Dockerfile and run it like this:
docker run -d -t -i myaccount/socat_test
After this I login into the container and check if socat daemon is running. But it is not. I just started playing around with docker. Am I misunderstanding the concept of Dockerfile? I would expect docker to run the socat command when the container starts.
You are confusing RUN and CMD. The RUN command is meant to build up the docker container, as you correctly did with the first one. The second command will also executed when building the container, but not when running it. If you want to execute commands when the docker container is started, you ought to use the CMD command.
More information can be found in the Dockerfile reference. For instance, you could also use ENTRYPOINT in stead of CMD.
