Highstock - Enable marker only on broken line - highcharts

To ease graph readability, I've turned markers off on my highstock spline chart (markers : enabled : false). I also wanted to broke the graph in case of irregular interval between data and so I have successfully set the gapSize to 1. However, this has the bad side of hidding single data that are not linked from one side or an other.
Here's an example (you'll easily see that some of the points are hidden) : http://jsfiddle.net/qosdc6hr
series: [{
marker:{
enabled:false
},
gapSize: 5,
[...]
}]
I want to have these single points drawn on the chart to make them visible at first glance. Is there a way to do it?

You can enable marker for a specific point like this:
data: [
{ x: Date.UTC(1970, 9, 27), y: 0, marker: { enabled: true }},

Highcharts - xAxis datetime max value does not create a gap

I am currently working on a specific type of chart and I am trying to achieve the following behavior for example :
As you can see there's a gap between the series last point and the xAxis max value and the reason for this is i wanna have a fix max value and load the daily values of a specific currency as the day passes by. So for example in the morning this chart would be empty and by 18:30 it would be filled.
In my mock example i have the current chart:
and when I try to set a new xAxis max value ( i also tried softMax) to a future day (using epoch converter for unixtimestamp) i am getting this:
and i set the max by doing :
return {
endOnTick: false,
max:1631962355,
tickLength: 2,
gridLineColor: '#b9b9b9',
gridLineWidth: 0,
tickColor: '#808080',
labels: {
style: {
color: '#b9b9b9',
},
x: 0,
y: 12,
format: '{value:%d.%b}',
},
visible: true,
};
}
UPDATE
After implementing your response I get an even weirder behavior. I get the same initial start I had before (no difference) but now if i click and drag it to the right I go from this :
to this:
and If i click and drag it to the left, into this:
The transformation happens without animation, neither by wathching the drag and move motion happen. It just instantly transforms after i drag my cursor pointer for a while towards the sides i mentioned above
You need to use milliseconds instead of seconds:
xAxis: {
max: 1631962355000,
...
}

Highchart Min Max for y-axis per series

i have a highchart with 4 series. I also only set the min value for each y-axis to 0 cause there arent any negative values possible. now highchart is calculating the max value by itself what is nice BUT i need this for each series itself. The reason is that i have 2 series with very high values from the range up to 5000 and the other two values are relativ small from 0 to 50.
The max value highcharts calculates is used for all four series - so the chart looks like this:
As you can see you can only see the two high value series - the other two arent really visible at the bottom of the chart.
When i disable the two series with the high values the chart looks nice for the other two values:
is there any flag i can use so highchart will calculate the max value / scale per series? Or have i really calculate it by myself - also on zoom and so on.
I found this: https://github.com/highcharts/highcharts/issues/4248
But i thought thats some basic functionality with is needed very often so there has to be something..
greetings
Maybe it would be better to use logarithmic axis type? Your chart would have only one axis adjusted to much difference between the values of series points. When it comes to differences between units of measurement, always you can set the different tooltip.pointFormat definition for specific series.
Highcharts.chart('container', {
title: {
text: 'Logarithmic axis demo'
},
yAxis: {
type: 'logarithmic',
},
series: [{
data: [1, 20, 30, 22, 16, 32, 45, 24, 11, 2],
pointStart: 1,
tooltip: {
pointFormat: '<b>{point.y} km/h</b>'
}
}, {
data: [4500, 3450, 4242, 2348, 5216, 3212, 4564, 3128, 5256, 4512],
pointStart: 1,
tooltip: {
pointFormat: '<b>{point.y} kW/h</b>'
}
}]
});

Identify all overlapping Highcharts scatter points clicked by the user

I have a highstock chart with a scatter series that has overlapping points. The X values are identical but the Y values have slight variations. Because the variations are small the overlap is not exact but is still difficult for the user to distinguish.
When a scatter point is clicked / tapped I want to identify all data points that the mouse pointer / finger touches. However it seems like Highcharts will only raise a click event for the point on top of the stack. There are several suggestions online for iterating over all data points and finding those with matching Y values, however in my case I would need to apply some fuzzy logic and try and select points that look to the user like they're overlapping, based on the size of the marker and the height of the chart and this seems like a move in the wrong direction.
Is there anything within Highcharts I can use to find all the points the user interacted with?
JS Fiddle: http://jsfiddle.net/f22tq4t2/1/
Highcharts.stockChart('container', {
series: [{
type: 'scatter',
name: 'Demo scatter overlap',
data: [{x: 1500052112000, y: 5}, {x: 1500052112000, y: 5.1}, {x: 1500052118000, y: 15.1}, {x: 1500052118000, y: 15.2}]
}],
xAxis: {
min: 1500052109000,
max: 1500052119000,
type: "datetime"
},
plotOptions: {
series: {
point: {
events: {
click: (event) => {
alert('clicked ' + event.point.y);
}
}
}
}
}
});

add axis behind stacked column

I have here https://jsfiddle.net/ezhp5a4j/6/ an area and a stacked bar chart But I need to achieve something like : adding another series:column behind this actual but not stacked, starting from jan. 2010 and end dec. 2010 with a certain position in y axis, my need is quiet simple, but I don't know how achieve, I think I need another X axis ?
Actually I have:
xAxis: {
type: 'datetime',
ordinal: false
},
Maybe I need add array to this or so?
You could do this with a second axis, but it's not necessary.
If you add your new data series, with some additional parameters to control the size and spacing, it can all use the same x axis.
Example:
{
"name": 'Summary',
type: 'column',
grouping: false, <-- make sure they don't group with the other series
stacking: false, <-- make sure they don't stack on the other series
color: 'rgba(0,0,0,0.5)',
pointRange: 86400000 * 365, , <-- 1 year; set to desired time frame
pointInterval: 86400000 * 365, <-- 1 year; set to desired time frame
pointPadding: 0.01,
groupPadding: 0,
data: [10000, 15000, 9000, 13000]
}
Updated fiddle:
https://jsfiddle.net/jlbriggs/ezhp5a4j/15/
Output:
EDIT for comment:
To add a second axis, you change the xAxis object to an array of objects, like this:
xAxis: [{
type: 'datetime',
ordinal: false
},{
linkedTo: 0,
type: 'datetime',
ordinal: false
}]
If they are going to have different scales, I am not sure that it makes any sense to plot them together, but in that case, you would remove the linkedTo: 0
Then, in your data, you need to specify which data series are plotted on the second axis, by adding xAxis: 1 to the series options (you don't need to specify xAxis: 0 for the other series, as 0 is the default.
Since you have specified a pointStart in your plotOptions, if the series plotted on the second axis will have a different scale, you will need to specify a separate pointStart in that series options.

Highcharts line segments and data point?

Trying to plot like [{x:0,y:0},{x:1,y:1},{x:null, y:null}, {x:3,y:1},{x:null, y:null}, {x:5,y:2}]
jsfiddle link: [http://jsfiddle.net/rayholland/HSvBj/4/][1]
and I want to make data point invisible on line segments but visible on isolated data point.
In another word, I want to draw the following graph but with exactly one series Link to image
You have two options:
use two series, but link them (linkedTo option) to get just one legend item: http://jsfiddle.net/HSvBj/30/
use null points, but set x value, when x=null then where should be that point inserted? I don't know, so for a library it's even harder ;) See: http://jsfiddle.net/HSvBj/31/
You can't have a null x value - the chart can't possibly know what x = null means, or what to do with it.
1) For the points that you want to have null values, you need to provide the appropriate x value
2) For the points that you want to have a marker, you need to signify that in your data array
So, in your plotOptions, disable markers, and in your data array, turn them on point by point:
plotOptions : {
series : {
marker: {
enabled : false
}
}
}
And then:
series: [{
data: [
[0,0],
[1,1],
[2,null],
{x:3,y:1, marker: {enabled: true}},
[4,null],
{x:5,y:2, marker: {enabled: true}}
]
}]
