I am running pylint on an opencv project and I am getting many pylint errors in VS code about members not being present.
Example code:

However , the code runs correctly without any errors.
Versions : pylint 1.8.1 , astroid 1.6.0
This is from pylint. You can generate a pylint config file in the root of your project with this command:
(I find this to be helpful if you work in a team or on different computers from the same repo)
pylint --generate-rcfile > ~/.pylintrc
At the beginning of the generated .pylintrc file you will see

extension-pkg-whitelist=
Add cv2 so you end up with

Save the file.
The lint errors should disappear.
On VScode: CTRL + Shift + P
Choose "Preferences: Open Settings (JSON)"
Add this line into JSON file:

Done, it works for me
Note: Make sure you choose "Preferences: Open Settings (JSON)", not "Preferences: Open Default Settings (JSON)"

Try import cv2 like this:

Yes it is because the extension has not been installed.
Set this: extension-pkg-whitelist=cv2 and you're good to go.
However it may not detect the functions or modules implemented in cv2

I didn't have to change anything in the pylint Jason file like the most of the answers here My solution is to change the import statement to the form below
from cv2 import cv2
Eventually, cv2 members can be used!
In VSCode, edit the Settings JSON (Ctrl+Shift+P, > "Preferences: Open Settings JSON)
Then, paste the following into the JSON:

Don't know why, but other solutions (allowlist, etc) weren't working for me, and I didn't want ot create the .pylintrc file.
I used below config settings in settings.json of vscode and it helped me avoid the unessential flags by pylint, and also got intellisense for cv2 working,
it it doesn't work try uninstalling and deleting cv2 packages from C:\Anaconda3\envs\demo1\Lib\site-packages folder, and reinstalling opencv-python package

The version in my project is stored in pyproject.toml:

But that doesn't work for me. The moment I run my unittests I get this error:

I am trying to run Python Code on Spyder for scientific computing. I use geometric information from shape files using geopandas. Installing geopandas was already difficult but I finally managed. However now I have another issue, that a module called 'pyproj._network' is not found.
I checked and the module is there and was also added to the path using the PYTHONPATH manager of Spyder.
Now I dont know anymore- any help very much appreciated!

I am including opencv with custom build parameters in my Yocto image. For that I have an opencv_4.1.0.bbappend recipe, in which I set custom options, specifically FFMPEG. The recipe goes something like this:

During configure I get cmake errors and can't seem to figure out, how to satisfy the header dependencies. The errors go like this (I assume this is the reason for do_configure to fail):

Focusing on the missing png.h header first, I am tempted to depend libpng-dev, as I also would apt install it. But there is no package for it.
When I search oe-pkgdata-util list-pkg-files -p libpng, I can find the header in a libpng-dev package:

How can I get my recipe to know those headers?
Target machine is raspberrypi4-64, on which the recipe is configuring and compiling well - it fails when I build for qemux86-64, which I use for testing. Namely, my test command is MACHINE="qemux86-64" bitbake opencv.
It doesn't really answer the question which I though was the question - but this is how the opencv recipe is easily configured:
PACKAGECONFIG = "python3 libav libv4l v4l"
Looking into the opencv 4.1.0 recipe (opencv_4.1.0.bb), I could see that FFMPEG gets enabled with the libav configurable option.
As a result of depending FFMEPG, I had to whitelist "commercial" licenses in my local.conf file:
LICENSE_FLAGS_WHITELIST = "commercial"
Looking into ./build/tmp/work/aarch64-poky-linux/opencv/4.1.0-r0/temp/log.do_configure shows that opencv is correctly configured without GUI, with v4l/v4l2:, FFMPEG, python3, etc.
And so python3 in the resulting image:

I'm trying to use this library https://github.com/dom96/nim-opencv a wrapper for OpenCV.
After running nimble install opencv
I can see the package in ~/.nimble/pkgs/opencv-0.1.0/
But when attempting to use I get a compile error

Are you compiling with nimble or nim? If the former then make sure you've got requires "opencv" in your .nimble file.
Where need I to set the path to the protoc to get import standards Protocol Buffers (protobuf), like empty.proto and timestamp.proto in Windows and Dart?

IntelliJ analyzer recognizes the import "google/protobuf/empty.proto" and Empty class on IDEA, but protoc can not find.

Say you have /some/path/to/google/protobuf/empty.proto, you need to pass --proto_path=/some/path/to/ so protoc can locate it.
