I am using PhpStorm 2018.1. I am not sure what this ellipsis popup is for and when it comes up it hides what I am typing behind it. Is there any way to disable it?
Known issue, WEB-14542.
As a workaround, please try disabling Show the parameter info popup in Settings | Editor | General | Code completion

This is my first question, I hope it will be a well constructed one.
I'm currently using Delphi 10.4 Community Edition and I installed SynEdit through the GetIt Package Manager.
The problem I'm facing is the following: I created a VCL form, dropped a TSynEdit in it and launched the application. The problem is that if I press the TAB or SHIFT+TAB, nothing happens. I tried to put breakpoints in the following methods of TSynEdit:
CommandProcessor
ExecuteCommand
DoTabKey
and the debugger never enters them while pressing those keys.
I then looked at the Keystrokes property of my TSynEdit control and, although the keystroke for TAB is defined, I think that the shortcut is "fake". What I mean is that if I try to modify what is associated to the ecTab command and manually choose the shortcut value, nor Tab or Shift+Tab are present in the listbox.
Did anyone ever experienced a problem like this? If so, how did you manage to solve it?
PS: Indentation works with other shortcuts, such as CTRL+SHIFT+I/U.
As indicated by Keith Miller, it was as simple as setting to True the property WantTabs for the TSynEdit control.
Still, if anyone knows why the TAB and SHIFT+TAB shortucts don't appear in the listbox of selectable shortcuts, please let us know.
I accidentally used 'vertical split' and 'horizontal split' in the Spyder editor (View->Window Layouts->Vertical split DON'T CLICK THIS!), now there is no way for me to go back. Does anyone know how to unsplit windows in Spyder?
Never mind, I found the answer when looking at the keyboard shortcuts (as that's how I accidentally split the screen the first way): alt+shift+W
I was having trouble with an older version of Spyder v4 on Mac, and I got it to work by updating to Spyder v4.2.1, right-clicking on the tabs in the panel I wanted to close, and then clicking "Close this panel" closed the split panel.
I have a problem with a tool-tip that appears it seems as a helper for function/method parameters, it takes up a large amount of the screen and can only be turned off by clicking enter, which is causing a large annoyance.
Does anyone know how do I turn this off permanently?
You can change it by toggling the following setting:
File | Settings | Editor | General | Code Completion | Show the parameter info popup
For as long as I can remember I had a search box near the top of the Assembly Explorer - this afternoon it's gone, and all attempts at restoring it have failed.
Is this a bug or did I somehow closed it? Can I bring it back?
Late answer. You clicked the "Toggle auto-hide of search bar" beside the search box. To get it back type any character when the focus is on the Assembly Explorer window. The click the Pin to keep it visible.
I had the same problem, but I did not find a way to simply bring back the search box.
Instead I reset all settings to default which made the search box appear again:
Go to Tools -> Options
On the bottom left click 'Manageā¦'
On the top right, click 'Reset All Settings'
i try to use codemirror in a jquery ui dialog.
here you can see the result in jsfiddle.
http://jsfiddle.net/HtntY/
the problem is that the content in codemirror does not appear on first load. it only appears after you set focus on the editor and than type something, after that the preloaded content appears.
can this be fixed somehow. i tried to do it with the refresh() function without success.
thanks for you short time.
Looks like jQuery UI hasn't actually unhid the DIV when the opener runs. Putting a refresh call in a timeout (as in http://jsfiddle.net/NP9SL/ ) seems to do the trick.
I ran into the same problem and wound up running the editor.refresh() off the focus event, FWIW. I thought I'd mention another, somewhat related problem. If you try to take advantage of the CodeMirror dialog/search functionality inside of JQueryUI modal dialog, the integrated search dialog fails to get focus and you can't type into it. Interestingly I can paste text into the search field, but I cant type. Have yet to find a way around this other than setting modal to false.
