I am seeking confirmation the follow can or can't be done.
I need to show external json data in html5 adwords banner - modify that data on hourly basis - direct calls to external domains in banners not allowed.
Not static json uploaded with ad, need updatable datasource (long campaign, prices changing)
Only found this:
https://developers.google.com/adwords/scripts/docs/features/external-data
Can anyone provide sample if I can access the "businessdata" from banner? - there is a way to update such data by schedule in adwords script - but found no example how I could access that data from banner on its display

Information.
IOS app swift, firebase+analytics, bigquery integration, iAd (https://developer.apple.com/documentation/iad)
Problem.
Most of installs are direct/none in firebase - so the same in analytics & bigquery. Main sources are google ads and apple ads. We can get apple ads source and campaign using iAd. But no info how to send this data to firebase (=how to set source for Firebase)
Question.
Is it possible to manually set source/medium/campaign for Firebase? Can't find anything :(
Any other tips how to get install source/medium/campaign and set it to Firebase?
Also, if we will use some tracker - appmetrica, appsflyer etc - there will be the same question - how to get source data from appsflyer and send it to Firebase
Thanks a lot!
As mentioned in the Firebase group conversation :
Setup multiple user properties based on the info you have (like
source, medium, campaign, etc)
Combine 2 or more user properties to
make an audience
Filter your attribution report on the audience
Follow the whole conversation here.
There is one documentation about how to add firebase to your apple project and another on installation of firebase in your apple app.
For more information you can refer to the blog5, medium post and link on how Campaign Attribution Works in Google Analytics for Firebase
Okay. After researches and tests I have this view
(1) First of all - unfortunately look like firebase team doesn't make clear and working method of setting custom sources
(2) There is some possibility to send something directly to source/medium/campaign in Firebase, but it work unstable.
To do this you need
Get somewhere your Source/Medium/Campaign (for example from iAd)
send 'campaign_details' event with source/medium/campaign params
Also, as mentioned Divyani Yadav - You can just send this params anywhere to user_properties
And somehow work with this data (using bigquery or making audiences to make some analysis in Analytics), but this approach doesn't rewrite firebase initial source/medium/campaign params
I am trying to track traffic coming from Apple News through Google Analytics, submit in RSS format. After online search I found that only if it's submitted in Apple New format. And that RSS feed is unreliable to track with GA.
Is there any other way to do this?
The first link you provided shows that the browser dimension is set as AppleNews for those visitors (I've never used Apple News before, but I'm guessing it's an in-app browser).
This gives you a few options:
Use a secondary dimension of Browser with an advanced search for AppleNews in your Acquisition report.
Create a segment where the Browser matches AppleNews to make it available for all reports.
Create a find/replace filter when the Browser matches AppleNews to change the acquisition data itself (source/medium). You'll want to be careful with his because it permanently alters your data!
The other thought I had is that maybe it's possible to use UTM query strings only when submitting to RSS? If the data is scraping your website you could programmatically update the RSS URL to include UTM parameters to track the source/medium that way (this may have varying success because of other scrapers outside of Apple News).
If you manually submit to Apple News, you could manually UTM tag your URLs so the source/medium is forced to Apple News.
Just a quick question if anyone has any insight / knows any good tutorials or guides. An ios app I am making consists of user-generated content and because of App Store rules, it must provide the user with the ability to report offensive/illicit content.
When the user reports something, my app creates a node with all the information of the report on the Firebase Database. Now, I could just review by using the Firebase console, but this would be very tedious so I'd like to implement some code that, whenever a node is created under "Reports" gets all the data from the database and storage and sends it as an email to a given account or stores it in an easily reviewable format.
Does anyone know how to implement this sort of backend code?
Thank you
This sort of situation is ideally suited for Cloud Function for Firebase, which allows you to run small snippets of JavaScript code in response to events such as a node being written to the database.
I recommend that you have a look at the Cloud Functions for Firebase documentation, specifically at the list of sample use-cases and even more specifically at the sample of sending a confirmation email when a user signs up for a newsletter.
My App's main function is a short-hand Note taker... Users' input is stored in a [String] and these Strings are used in a replayer to show an animated version of what was noted.
The file will contain this Array of Strings and a few thumbnail Images.
How can I allow users to share this file with a friend that has the same App? I prefer users to be able to text the file (like in contacts "Share contact") and when the receiver taps the file...The App is opened and Replayer starts.
There are a number of ways to do this, I strongly recommend using a web service to perform the communication between applications. You can use a REST API (examples on how to develop your own API here) so your users can upload the files, and other users can download these files onto their mobile device.
If you do not want (or do not have time) to develop your own REST API, you can sign up with Parse which offers several options for solving your needs (REST API, mobile SDK's, etc), with a very simple user interface. This way your information is not stored on your user's physical device, it is instead stored in a server. This enables sharing of information and/or files.
I'm trying to figure out the best way I can inform analytics trackers that the page view is coming from my app, rather than a 'direct visit' (for example).
I have an app that displays a list view of tons of different news stories, and I want to make it so that, when a user taps on one of the stories, and it is displayed in my UIWebView, the website being loaded is somehow informed that the referral came from 'example-iphone-app', or maybe my iPhone app's website?
Is there any way to manipulate the http request to make the iPhone app act as if the link is being opened by a referral link on my website?
I was originally thinking of just adding a query string with a parameter like ?source=myappname, but realized this is not a reliable (or even useful) way of alerting site owners with Google Analytics, SiteMeter, Urchin, etc. from where the request has come.
If you're using Google Analytics then you can set the utm_source and utm_medium query parameters and they will be displayed as the referral source. utm_source is where you would put your myappname parameter and utm_medium should probably be set to referral unless you are charging per click then it is usually set to cpc.
