I am following the "Getting Started" guide from the Jenkins documentation; however, I have not been able to get Jenkins to run properly. When I run the command java -jar jenkins.war --httpPort=8080 I get a series of warnings/errors and Jenkins will not run as expected. I am not able to install any plugins or complete the very next step of the getting started guide.
The first warning I receive is for deleting a temp file. It appears to fail because there is no file at that location.

The next warning I get is a Jetty warning. I have no idea what the issue is here, as I am not familiar with Jetty.

disable the deprecated protocols.
And finally, I get a lengthy stacktrace regarding some type of Hudson or certification issue.

As I said, I am following their instructions word for word and they're very simple, but it just won't work. Any help that you can provide would be much appreciated. Thanks.
It can depend on your exact setup and OS: this was seen for instance in a docker setup, with jenkinsci/docker issue 422, although this Dockerfile works.
The issue includes:
I was facing the same problem and I fixed it by removing option '--preferedClassLoader' in environment variable JENKINS_ARGS.
That being said, your local Jenkins instance might want to connect to https site (for instance to check for plugins update).
If that is the case, you would need to import the certificate of the remote site into your JDK keystore.

The SSLHandshakeException is apparently related to the specific JDK 8 version (jdk8u192-b12) used in this case.
Using another JDK version (jdk-8.0.322.6-hotspot) does not report any problem and succeeds in downloading the Ivy jar.

I use JDK8 and jenkins 2.164.1 on Ubuntu 16.04.6
How to fix this?
This issue has been bugging us as well. There seems to be a temporary work around, not a solution. Just set the remote root directory of the slave node configuration on jenkins server to a new path, and remoting will take care of the rest.. but, the issue seem to reoccur now and then. We don't know the root cause yet. Any word is more than welcome.

Add this jars in your WEB-INF/lib folder
commons-lang3-3.1.jar
commons-lang-2.4.jar
slf4j-api-x.x.x.jar
slf4j-log4j12-x.x.x.jar
log4j-x.x.x.jar
Most importantly this jar is not in your project, So first download it and add it to your build path.
tiles-core.2.x.x.jar
tiles-template-2.x.x.jar
tiles-portlet-2.x.x.jar
You can choose version by yourself as per your project need.e.g. commons-lang-x.x,jar. Also reply if you get error.
And if you are new user to stack overflow then I will suggest you to learn how to accept answer Please see click HERE
EDIT :
Also I would like to tell you that struts2-tiles-plugin-2.2.1.jar depends on tiles 2.0.6 not tiles 2.2.1. Well, it does not matter. But it was just for your information. You should use proper version of tiles which should be compatible with your struts. At least try once using compatible versions.
What your error says is a resource could not be used because it is not in a portlet environment.
I will suggest you to Learn portlet integration of tiles
You are missing tiles-portlet-2.x.x.jar or portlet-ext.xml file
Edit 2:
Check rt.jar in your JRE.
If you don't have it on your classpath you will not have access to any of those classes you need to use like java.lang.String or java.io.File.

20 May 2013 1:05:16 PM org.neo4j.server.logging.Logger log
SEVERE: Failed to start Neo Server on port [7474]
I have uninstalled all old versions of the JRE and installed Oracle Jave Runtime Enviroment 7 aswell as restarted my computer and I still get the same error? How do I fix this error?
If it's still picking up the wrong version of Java, you should check your environment variables (Control Panel, System, Advanced, Environment)
set JAVA_HOME to be the root of your JDK home directory, e.g. c:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_21
make sure that the jdk1.7.0_xx\bin directory appears in your PATH ahead of any other Java installations you have; note that this might have to be ahead of C:\Windows\System32 since Microsoft's java selector code is in there
If you're running Neo4J as a service it's easiest to add these to the "System Variables" section but you could also set it up for the user that the service is running as.
