I am using the Twitter integration option with Dialogflow, and wondered if there is a way of getting the Twitter user handle/user Id from the Dialogflow session?
I cant see anything in the JSON messages that Dialogflow generates, so I am guessing not, but it's worth asking :)
Your webhook will be passed information about the sender in the originalRequest field.
In the case of a direct message, you can find their handle under originalRequest.data.direct_message.sender.screen_name.

I am trying to call following Twitter's API to get a list of followers for a user.
http://api.twitter.com/1.1/followers/ids.json?cursor=-1&screen_name=username
And I am getting this error message in response.
{
code = 215;
message = "Bad Authentication data";
}
I can't seem to find the documentation related to this error code. Anyone has any idea about this error?
Your request lacks authentication data. I got that error when I simply clicked on http://api.twitter.com/1.1/followers/ids.json?cursor=-1&screen_name=username. This is not the way to access twitter API.
Create a Twitter app from https://apps.twitter.com/. Then, try using a Twitter API Library to access REST API. If you are comfortable with using ruby apps on command line interface check out https://github.com/sferik/t. Set it up and then try t followers [USER] for listing all followers of USER.
You will have to use OAuth. More info can be found on Twitter website. Here: https://dev.twitter.com/oauth
This error is coming because your Twitter developers account is not approved. Now-a-days you can't make app without getting your developers account approved from Twitter.
To make an app, you need to contact Twitter and apply for developers account. If you are lucky engough, you will get approval although this process may take months.
If you just need the data, go for third party services like followersanalysis[dot]com, birdsonganalytics[dot]com
Is there any way to find whether the email is legitimate or not. I am using mandrill and some emails were hard bounced so, is there a way where mandrill can send a response to my rails application that email was hard bounced. Or is there any other way to find that email actually exists or not through other medium. I saw a gem https://github.com/kamilc/email_verifier but there were some issues so I am not sure to use it or not.
Thanks in advance for help
I think you are looking for Mandrill's webhooks
The idea is that you set up an endpoint to receive event notifications (including bounces) from Mandrill.
One best solution is to implement webhooks which returns all status of emails sent. The webhook can be customised to recieve what response you can recieve including sent and delivery also. It also helps in tracking open and click rates which could be later used for filtering privileged users.

I am sending email using sendgrid.
Are there any options in sendgrid to get email analytics (open/bounced/replied emails) for each users email address?
I've done this two ways before:
1) Use SendGrid's Event API to collect and aggregate the data yourself.
2) Use a service like sendwithus on top of your SendGrid account, which will collect your SendGrid analytics for you and provide analytics by recipient, template, segment, etc. They also provide an API and Ruby client.
Once you're logged into SendGrid, navigate to the Stats Dashboard.
You should then be able to see something like this:
I hope this helps.
Yes, There are option available for this, to get the status of individual emails sent via sendgrid.
Send a unique arguments with every email you sent and then later on you can get status of these emails with reference to unique argument.
Some more explanation of your question will help us a-lot to describe you the best possible solution.
i have recently done this work, so if you explain the whole scenario, i will come up with the solution.
There are two ways to get hold of this data:
Use the SendGrid Event Webhook to get near realtime information about every event for every email you send via SendGrid. It works by issuing a POST request to a URL that you specify.
You can then store all this data for consumption later on and it's by far the most granular information you can get. Key/Value stores like Redis are a good option for this, but if you want a simple option to get going, check out the SendGrid EventKit to get up and running quickly.
Or:
Grab the data via the Stats API. This endpoint allows you to grab the numbers you need in a multitude of ways for both main and subuser accounts.
Based on your question, you should investigate the Event Webhook as it will give you most clarity on what happens with each email you send.
You can now use Thinbox to get analytics from Sendgrid, Mailgun, Mandrill, or just by bcc'ing an email address they give you. It's basically like EventKit but for the rest of the ESPs too.
A little background info so you can know my overall goal:
I have a web app that uses rails and Devise for authentication. I also am making an iPhone app which I need to be able to send and retrieve data to/from this app. I've decided to make a custom token authentication system in order to handle this.
I want to be able to send a username and password in JSON format as a post request to my app, have the app get that username and password, then have the app reply with a token in an xml or JSON format.
How do I make an action that will get information from a post request (username and password) and process it then return something else?
I just recently attended a meetup that explained Helios, which sounds like what you are looking for.
Check out their docs. Also this Github is an example of helios in action.
How do I send a facebook app requests from one mobile user to another using the Graph API?
I have looked at facebooks documentation but the only options I have found are to A) send an app to user message from the app (which I can't get working) or B) to use the request dialog, which doesn't seem to let me send a request to a single user.
FB has instructions for how to build a custom "Multi-Friend Selector" but apparently not for mobile.
I have tried using HTTP POSTing to
https://graph.facebook.com/%s?access_token= ...
with POST data set to
message='Test Message'
but I get
WWW-Authenticate: OAuth "Facebook Platform" "invalid_request" "(#2) Failed to create any app request"
I have also tried in the Graph API Explorer but I get the same thing.
I don't want to send these messages to users that have installed the app and I don't mind the user having to provide confirmation for the FBFrictionlessRecipientCache. Also, my app is in Sandbox mode, but I only need to send the requests to the other developers.
I am looking for anything that will let me do multi-friend selectors or ask for lives, or get help from a friend, like I see in several mobile games these days.
You can use presentRequestsDialogModallyWithSession from FBWebDialogs.
You must specify a "to" parameter to identify the recipient, and you must use the FBFrictionlessRecipientCache.
The "to" parameter identifies the recipient. It stops the select user dialog from appearing.
The first time you send the request to each recipient the user will have to grant permission. After that, the FBFrictionlessRecipientCache will allow the request to be sent relatively silently (a dialog pops up briefly and goes away by itself).
