use installed vsix template in visual studio 2015 update 3 - asp.net-mvc

I had installed ng.Net.Template using tool -> extention and update
external link (https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=Dahln.ngNetTemplate#overview)
and it is successfully installed and restart visual studio
but not getting ng.Net.Template Template in a new project under c# -> web section.
What shall I do? Thanks.

I checked the link and it stated that
V3.1 on 10.8.2014 is Updated to Visual Studio 2015 and .NET 4.6
Please change .Net Framework Version and select Visual C# from left menu, then it will show on your list, e.g.
If 4.6 is not is options, then install it.

Why are all my templates in visual studio gone?

I recently installed Visual Studio for Mac 2022. I had VS Mac 2019, and it had the .net templates. When I installed VS 2022, all my previous .net templates were gone, even though I selected to install .net templates. When I open VS 2019, it has all of the templates installed, even the ones that I installed with only VS 2022. Is there any way to fix this, or should I just use VS 2019? 2022 vs 2019
Could you please try to set your .NET SDK path?
You can locate it under Preferences->SDK Locations->.NET Core and set the path as /usr/local/share/dotnet/dotnet.
Hope this can help solve the problem.

The Other - .NET project templates in Visual Studio for Mac 2019 require the Mono framework.
In Visual Studio for Mac 2022 the project templates that require Mono have been removed.
Instead you can install the .NET SDK use the project templates that target .NET 6.0, .NET Core 3.1, and these are available from the Web and Console section, if the associated SDKs are installed.
To install the .NET SDK you can either download them directly from the download page or re-run the installer and ensure that .NET is selected.

How to get MSBuild 15 without a full install of Visual Studio?

"MSBuild is now installed in a folder under each version of Visual Studio." However, I do not want to install a full VS on the server. "MSBuild is now available as part of the .NET Core SDK."
Now that I've installed the .Net Core 2.1 SDK (and the 4.7.2 Framework), what is the path to msbuild.exe?
MSBuild.exe 15 was found after installing the VS Build Tools with no additional packages selected in the install interface.
Edit: Updated link above to go to older downloads. Expand 2017 panel, click Download, login with a Microsoft account, then you will see Build Tools for Visual Studio 2017 (version 15.9) in the list of available downloads.
Edit: increased minor version to 9 to reflect the latest of major version 15.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio\2017\BuildTools\MSBuild\15.0\Bin\MSBuild.exe

this project is incompatible with the current edition of visual studio

I developed an application into Visual Studio 2012. Now I installed Visual Studio 2015 and run the same application into Visual Studio 2015. but i found an error "this project is incompatible with the current edition of visual studio" I searched it again and again and found many solutions but these solutions are not working for me.
The problem was that I wasn't select Microsoft Web Development during installation period so that whenever I opened my ASP.net MVC project in that installed IDE. It showed me error this project is incompatible with the current edition of visual studio. So I updated this installed 2015 Visual Studio by Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features. Now it is working
This stackoverflow provides better answer for various other project file failures which cause same error as above.

How to add visual studio 5 project in visual studio 3?

I have opened a project created in visual studio 3 in visual studio 5 unknowingly. So when I am trying back to open that project in visual studio 3, it is not getting opened and also showing an error saying
THE SELECTED FILE IS VISUAL STUDIO SOLUTION FILE, BUT WAS CREATED BY A
NEWER VERSION OF VISUAL STUDIO AND CANNOT BE OPENED.
What can I do to open the file in visual studio 3?
Thanks in advance!!!!
If you don't have a backup of the project files, perhaps you can use the Visual Studio Project Converter to recover your project.
From the link:
I have to say that these versions of Visual Studio are now very much out of date - it might be better to just upgrade everything to VS2013.

Opening project for 2013 in 2012 Visual Studio for MVC gives error

I am getting an error when trying to open a MVC project in Visual Studio 2012. My team is running on 2013 that have been working on it, and I am waiting to be upgraded to 2013, but am trying to get some work done until then. When I open the project, it says it is missing some required Web components needed to run in Visual Studio. "ASP.NET Web pages with Razor 3.0.0.0". So I tried to do a NuGet install for AspNetMVC and did not work. I can open the project and what not, but the features such as adding a new View or Controller are not there. Do I have to wait until I am upgraded to 2013, or am I missing something? Thanks in advance.
Had to re-install WebPages package with NuGet manager. I have no idea why it was jacked, but it was and fixed the problem. Thanks #levelnis.
I had the same issue and had to update my NuGet package manager to the newest version in order to download the missing / corrupted package.
