Photos and videos are not saving in my custom photo album (TestAlbum). Instead, it is saving in the Camera Roll. Can you kindly help me to identify the issue and help me to correct the code.

As in the comments above I would separate the creation of the photo album and the saving of your photo/video into two performChanges blocks. But I don't see anyway in your code where you are actually adding the asset (photo/video) to your asset collection (photo album). To do that do as follows

How to fetch all albums with images from iPhone without taking time in Swift?

I tried to fetch all images from album. It fetches all images with their URL's and image data, but it does not fetch images directly from given URL path, So I need to download images in Document Directory and then get path. So it's taking too much time. I use below code. I want fetch images like iPhone photos library fetches.

I recommend simply using UIImagePickerController or if your app requires multiple image selection functionality, a third-party library like DKImagePickerController. As another user already mentioned in the comments, these will only copy the image(s) the user selected into your app's directory and save on processing time.

AVFoundation saving Photo in-app is 3-4 times larger than saving using the Photos app

I using AVFoundation to capture photos and to save the photos locally.
I get the data using AVCapturePhotoOutput.jpegPhotoDataRepresentation, but the file size seems to be 3-4x compared to the size when saving using the Photos framework. How can this be?

Deleting PHAssetCollection (Swift)

I created an PHAssetCollection to house my photos for my app, and it works fine. However, I am trying to have it so the user can delete the PHAssetCollection when they press a button. How do I go about deleting the entire AssetCollection ("App Folder") that I created in the following code?

There's a class method in PHAssetCollectionChangeRequest called deleteAssetCollections: which does just that: requests that specific asset collections be deleted. Looking at the documentation it seems you can just call this with an array of PHAssetCollections like so:

Save images with phimagemanager to custom album?

I am making an app that takes pictures with AVFoundation and I want to save them to a custom album that I can then query and show in my app. (I'd prefer to not have them in the general photo roll, unless the user wants that) I can't really find anything showing how to do this in Swift... or at all. Is there a different way I am supposed to do this?
I found this example on SO but it doesn't make sense to me and I can't get it to work.

I like to reuse the code I write so I decided to create an extension for PHPhotoLibrary where it is possible to use it like:

I improved on #ricardopereira and #ColossalChris code. Added video to the extension, and added another extension on top of PHAsset to get rid of the compilation errors. Works in Swift 2.1.
