iPhone 4s in Xcode 9.1 with iOS 9 as deployment target - ios

I'm working on a new project having iOS 9 as deployment target in Xcode 9.1. In the simulator I have the iPhone 4s but its iOS version is not displayed. I searched about the support of iOS 9 in this iPhone and I found some answers saying that the iPhone 4s is supporting the iOS 9 and others saying the opposite so I'm confused. At this date, is iOS 9 supported on iPhone 4s?

Yes, iOS 9 is supported on iPhone 4S. but iOS 10 is not supported. Last supported is iOS 9.3.5
You can see the Simulator and iOS in XCode, Window > Devices and Simulator or Cmd+Shift+2.
In the Simulator Tab, you can see the list of simulators. Normally by defaults, iPhone 4S Simulator is installed with iOS 8.1.
If you need to see more iPhone 4S with iOS 9.3 e.g. you can press the '+' on the left below to add more simulators. And check on the 'Show as run destination' to run the app on this simulator in XCode.
If you do not have iOS 9.3 simulator, you can choose the option to download more simulator or do it from XCode > Preferences > Components

Simulator error for iPhone 8 and X : Unable to lookup service com.apple.CoreSimulator.host_support: 0x3

I am building a Cordova App for iOS using XCore. It perfectly works on simulator of all devices from iPhone 5S to iPhone 7, and for iPhone 8 Plus.
But I need my app to work for iPhone 8 and iPhone X devices.
Here is my error when I run my app on iPhone 8 or iPhone X. The simulator is turning on, but the app is not installed and I got this error in Xcode :
Unable to lookup service com.apple.CoreSimulator.host_support: 0x3
I already tried to clean my project, reboot my Mac and Xcode, but I still have the same error. As I said, I have no problem with iPhone 5S, 6, 6S, 6 Plus, 6S Plus, SE, 7, 7 Plus and 8 Plus
I use :
macOS High Sierra 10.13.6,
Xcode 9.4
iOS 11.4
Thank you for your answers.
Please go to Xcode->Window->Device and Simulators
Select Simulator option from segment
Remove simulator and add again

How to I add simulator for iphone 4/5 in Xcode 6.3.1

I am not sure if i am doing it right. Please help.
To add simulator, goto > windows > devices
problem:
1) When I tried to add simulator for iphone 5 or 4 , it show iOS version 8.3
the dialogbox show :
Simulator name : iphone 4s
Device Type : iphone 4s
iOS version : iOS8.3
Is this correct? iphone 4s should be using ios lower than ios 8 right?
How to I do testing for iphone 4/5 using simulator ?
In the Xcode menu, go to Windows > Devices, and at the bottom left click on the + button.
Xcode 6 only supports iOS 7 and iOS8. You could use iOS 7 for iPhone 4s or iPhone 5, just install the iOS 7.1 simulator from
Xcode > Preferences > Downloads.
iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S can be updated to run iOS 8, so it is perfectly ok to test iOS 8 with these phones.
Is this correct? iphone 4s should be using ios lower than ios 8 right?
It is correct. I have an actual iPhone 4s and it is running iOS 8.3. (In fact, it is my primary development testing device for iOS 8.)
You can install earlier simulators, but there is nothing wrong with what you're seeing.
(And yes, this means that in order to develop for iOS 8, you need to support screen sizes ranging from the tiny iPhone 4s to the massive iPhone 6 Plus. Good luck.)

How to download iOS 8 simulator Xcode 6?

I have installed Xcode 6.1. When I try to run application on iPhone 6/6+ it shows an error 'Unable to boot device in surest state : Creating' and for 6+ it states 'Lost connection to iPhone 6 plus'. I think this is an issue with simulator. I tried to download simulator for the same but only simulator for iOS 7 is available as shown in screenshot. How do I install simulator for iOS 8?
The iOS 8.0 simulator runtime is not supported on Xcode 6.1 or later. It is not expected to be available for download.

3.5" Simulator in Xcode 6.0.1

I have currently updated my Xcode from 5.1.1 to 6.0.1 to support apps for iOS 8.0. But I could not find any 3.5" simulator. Is the 3.5" simulator has been removed, or Apple is not going to support the 3.5" iPhone Devices any more?
You can pick the iphone 4S, which has a 3.5" screen.
For XCode 6 and onwards XCode has simulators based on devices as shown in following screenshot
Apple is still supporting iPhone 4s with latest iOS 8 , so you can select that
From Xcode 6 beta onwards apple have added simulators with device names so you can pick iPhone 4s for 3.5" simulator and iPhone 5 for 4" simulator.
Open Xcode -> Preferences -> Downloads
There you can download the simulator for the iOS which you want.

Preferences -> Downloads only shows ios 7.1 Simulator and ios 7.0 simulator.
My Deployment Target is 5.0.
Why can I no longer get at least the ios 6 simulator?
Running Xcode 6.0 (6A313)
Mac 10.9.4
And why does is only show "iPhone 5" as an option for the simulator? The 4S can run iOS 7...
To get the iOS 6 simulator you need to download an older version of Xcode. Log into developer.apple.com and you will see this link:
That will take you to:
https://developer.apple.com/downloads/index.action?name=Xcode
You will then download Xcode 5 and have access to the old iOS 6 simulator. You can have both Xcode 5 and Xcode 6 installed on your machine at the same time.
To add the iPhone 4S as a simulator: In xCode go to Windows -> Devices and press the plus in the bottom corner and add the devices that you wish.
