Im using a bootstrap collapse item and have the code set up like this:
<% #tasks.each do |task| %>
<div class="panel-group">
<div class="panel panel-default">
<div class="panel-heading">
<h4 class="panel-title">
<a data-toggle="collapse" href="#collapse1"><%= task.title %><p style="text-align:right;"><span class="glyphicon glyphicon-chevron-down"></span></p></a>
<p class="taskdescription"><%= task.description %></p>
</h4>
</div>
<div id="collapse1" class="panel-collapse collapse">
<ul class="list-group">
<% task.subtasks.each do |subtask| %>
<li class="list-group-item"><%= subtask.title %></li>
<% end %>
</ul>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<% end %>
Which is outputting the correct list but with each item i need to increment the value of the div:
<div id="collapse1" class="panel-collapse collapse">
to
<div id="collapse2" class="panel-collapse collapse">
then
<div id="collapse3" class="panel-collapse collapse">
and so on until each item is displayed from the collection.
Thanks
Use each_with_index do |element, index| do ....
This was you have access to the element index and can use it as any rails variable.
<% #tasks.each_with_index do |task, index| %>
<div class="panel-group">
<div class="panel panel-default">
<div class="panel-heading">
<h4 class="panel-title">
<a data-toggle="collapse" href="#collapse1"><%= task.title %><p style="text-align:right;"><span class="glyphicon glyphicon-chevron-down"></span></p></a>
<p class="taskdescription"><%= task.description %></p>
</h4>
</div>
<div id="collapse<%= index +1 %>" class="panel-collapse collapse">
<ul class="list-group">
<% task.subtasks.each do |subtask| %>
<li class="list-group-item"><%= subtask.title %></li>
<% end %>
</ul>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<% end %>
you can loop with each.with_index(1) and use the counter variable i to dynamically append the counter on the generated html.
<% #tasks.each.with_index(1) do |task, i| %>
<div class="panel-group">
<div class="panel panel-default">
...
<div id="collapse#{i}" class="panel-collapse collapse">
...
</div>
</div>
</div>
<% end %>

I have a page (show route) that looks like this:
and i would like to position the link to "All Camgrounds" to the right of the card. I tried several things like adding classes like "text-right" or "justify-content-end", but it did not work.
I am using the framework Boostrap-5.
Any help would be much appreciated. Here is the code for the SHOW page :
<% layout('layouts/boilerplate') %>
<div class="row">
<div class="col-6 offset-3">
<div class="card">
<div class="card-header">
<h2>
<%= campground.title %>
</h2>
</div>
<img src="<%= campground.image %>" class="card-img-top" alt="...">
<div class="card-body">
<p class="card-text">
<%= campground.description %>
</p>
</div>
<ul class="list-group list-group-flush">
<li class="list-group-item text-muted">
<%= campground.location %>
</li>
<li class="list-group-item">
$ <%= campground.price %> /night
</li>
</ul>
<div class="card-body">
<a class="card-link btn btn-warning" href="/campgrounds/<%= campground._id %>/edit">Edit</a>
<form class="d-inline" action="/campgrounds/<%= campground._id %>?_method=DELETE" method="post">
<button class="btn btn-danger">Delete</button>
</form>
<a class="card-link d-inline text-right" href="/campgrounds">All
campgrounds</a>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
There are many different ways to align right in Bootstrap 5.
In your case it's probably easiest to use float-end.
<div class="row">
<div class="col-6 offset-3">
<div class="card">
<div class="card-header">
<h2> Title </h2>
</div>
<img src="//via.placeholder.com/500" class="card-img-top" alt="...">
<div class="card-body">
<p class="card-text"> campground.description </p>
</div>
<ul class="list-group list-group-flush">
<li class="list-group-item text-muted"> campground.location </li>
<li class="list-group-item"> $ 39/night </li>
</ul>
<div class="card-body">
<a class="card-link btn btn-warning" href="/campgrounds/<%= campground._id %>/edit">Edit</a>
<form class="d-inline" action="/campgrounds/<%= campground._id %>?_method=DELETE" method="post">
<button class="btn btn-danger">Delete</button>
</form>
<a class="card-link float-end" href="/campgrounds">All campgrounds</a>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>

Also note, left and right have been replaced with start and end in Bootstrap 5.
I want to display categories across a single row in my home page but they stack on top of each other instead.
<div class= "container">
<div class="panel panel-primary">
<div class="panel-body">
<div class="col-md-3">
<% Category.take(6).each do |category| %>
<%=link_to category.name, categories_show_path(category: category.name)%>
<% end %>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
why don't you create a row and col according to your requirement, also provide more information so someone can help you solve your problem, you're trying to display 6 categories name in col-md-3, I have updated your code you can check out
<div class="container">
<div class="panel panel-primary">
<div class="panel-body">
<div class='row'>
<% Category.all.take(6).each do |category| %>
<div class="col-md-2">
<%= link_to category.name, categories_show_path(category: category.name) %>
</div>
<% end %>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>

<li class="active"><%= t ".title" %></li>
</ol>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</section>

<section class="page-title">
<div class="container">
<div class="row">
<div class="col-md-6 col-sm-7 co-xs-12 text-left">
<h1><%= t ".title" %></h1>

Here is the code in index :
<div class="container-page">
<div class="padding-page">
<div class="container-fluid" id="start-cards">

<% #hiraganas.each do |hiragana| %>
<li>
<div class="col-sm-3 col-xs-4 col-md-3 container-cards">
<div class="card-details">

<div class="audioclick">
<p><i class="fa fa-volume-off fa-lg"><%= #hiragana.audioclick %></i></p>
</div>
Bonjour!
You need:
<%= hiragana.upletter %>
<%= hiragana.transcription %>
In your loop.
-
When using a loop, you need to use the locally scoped variable:
<% #hiraganas.each do |hiragana| %>
<%= hirgana.upletter %>
<% end %>
Any Ruby error with undefined method "..." for "NilClass" basically means you're trying to call methods on a non-declared variable.
In this case, the variable you're trying to use is #hiragana, which doesn't exist. It's local equivalent (hirgana) does.
