How to set Classpath on Jboss EAP openshift image - docker

Image used : https://access.redhat.com/containers/#/registry.access.redhat.com/jboss-eap-7/eap70-openshift
I can set an ENV variable but it does not work.
Dockerfile :
FROM registry.access.redhat.com/jboss-eap-7/eap70-openshift
ENV CLASSPATH $CLASSPATH:/opt/eap/standalone/lib/required_libs/fscontext.jar
It sets this variable but I still get following exception,

Setting classpath inside container also does not work.
Looking for setting a classpath which would show up in java process like below :

Why don't you put your lib in /opt/eap/modules or in one of the directory mentionned in the stacktrace ?
Don't forget to create also a module.xml file in EAP_HOME/modules/your/package/name/main, ex :

Log4j2 environment lookup does not find variable in AWS Linux EC2 instance

I have a Tomcat WAR project running in AWS Elastic Beanstalk EC2 instances. I have configured the instances to ensure that they have an environment variable CLUSTER_NAME. I can verify that the variable is available in the EC2 instance.
[ec2-user#ip-10* ~]$ cat /etc/environment
export CLUSTER_NAME=sandbox
ec2-user#ip-10* ~]$ echo $CLUSTER_NAME
sandbox
This variable is looked up in a Log4j2 XML file like this:

The env-name property is used in a Coralogix appender like this:

I see that this lookup is not working, as the env-name is just shown as ${env:CLUSTER_NAME} in Coralogix dashboard. The value works if I hardcode it.
What can be done to fix this lookup? There are several related questions for this, but they seem to refer to log4j1.x. https://stackoverflow.com/a/22296362. I have ensured that this project uses log4j2.
The solution was to add the CLUSTER_NAME variable in the /etc/profile.d/env.sh. This variable is available in the log4j2.xml with the following lookup.

${env:CORALOGIX_CLUSTER_NAME}
</property>
I am still not clear of the difference between adding a variable to /etc/environment vs /etc/profile.d/env.sh.

How to set log level in QAF / Qmetry framework?

I would like to reduce the log level displayed in the console during my automation run in QAF / QMetry framework. When I tried playing around in log4j.properties, it is not showing any difference in the console logging. Tried following in log4j.properties:

You need to set log4j properties file location. Refer sample ant or maven project. If you are not familiar, easiest way is to move log4j.properties file under src directory.

Tomcat 8.5 context path not working correctly

I have an application with the name cat_tiger.war that gets deployed as localhost:8080/cat_tiger but I want to change the context path to localhost:8080/cat/lion/ instead. I've added the META-INF/context.xml file as

I don't understand why you are having problems, but I've created the web project using NetBeans 8.2 (File > New Project... > Java Web > Web Application), and successfully changed the context, so perhaps if I give details of my project you can identify where there's a crucial difference.

Ignore the answer given above! Even though it happened to work for my configuration, the approach is explicitly disallowed in the Tomcat documentation.
Specifically, path should not be specified within the <Context> of a context.xml file placed within the application's META-INF directory. From the path description in the Common Attributes section of the Tomcat 8.5 documentation for the Context Container:
This attribute must only be used when statically defining a Context in
server.xml. In all other circumstances, the path will be inferred from
the filenames used for either the .xml context file or the docBase.
Even when statically defining a Context in server.xml, this attribute
must not be set unless either the docBase is not located under the
Host's appBase or both deployOnStartup and autoDeploy are false. If
this rule is not followed, double deployment is likely to result.

Setting java.io.tmpdir in Wildfly 8.2

I am attempting to set the location of the system property java.io.tmpdir to something other than the default "/tmp" in my standalone.xml file.
I have added the following element after the <extensions> element:

However, when I start up wildfly, I see this in the log file:
java.io.tmpdir = /tmp
I don't see anywhere in any of the bin*.conf files or the bin*.sh files that's setting this... what am I missing?

Tapestry getting started

All goes OK until mvn jetty:run which ends with [ERROR] Failed to execute goal org.mortbay.jetty:maven-jetty-plugin:6.1.16:run (default-cli) on project newapp: Failure: Address already in use: bind
That is no surprise as I have Tomcat running on 8080 with my own site (that can not be changed). Did mvn indeed install jetty and tries running it? May I configure Jetty to a different port or maybe use Tomcat instead?
You can configure Jetty to use another port by setting the system property jetty.port.
The jetty.port property can be set in the command line when running Maven:
mvn -Djetty.port=9090 jetty:run
Or it can be set in the project's pom.xml, as part of the maven-jetty-plugin configuration:
