How to render custom Highstock Timeline with Highcharts - highcharts

We use Higcharts/Highstocks. (great job!)
We need to render in one chart:
one or many timelines
the chart navigator
marking facts flags
maybe other curves
So we need to use Highstocks
You can see an adaptation of the best base we found here :
http://jsfiddle.net/g4KLk/100/
customrange are representing a duration in seconds
We need to display the navigator in order to be able to zoom on specifiq a timerange
In order to get customrange detailed seconds by seconds, we've had to render a point each second on the last line int the graph.
Any solution to get what we want without having to display a "seconds line" ?
And by the way, is there a solution in order to custom the color of each customrange ?
Regards !

The main concept for setting xAxis at the same value is to synchronize by method Highcharts.Axis#setExtremes.
function syncExtremes(e) {
var thisChart = this.chart;
if (e.trigger !== 'syncExtremes') { // Prevent feedback loop
Highcharts.each(Highcharts.charts, function(chart) {
if (chart.xAxis[0].setExtremes) { // It is null while updating
chart.xAxis[0].setExtremes(
e.min,
e.max,
undefined,
false, {
trigger: 'syncExtremes'
}
);
}
if (chart.xAxis[1].setExtremes) { // It is null while updating
chart.xAxis[1].setExtremes(
e.min,
e.max,
undefined,
false, {
trigger: 'syncExtremes'
}
);
}
});
}
}
The next step is to fire the event handler for the axis xAxis.events.setExtremes and implement inside our syncExtremes function.
xAxis: [{
type: 'datetime',
events: {
setExtremes: syncExtremes
},
}, {
type: 'datetime',
events: {
setExtremes: syncExtremes
},
opposite: true
}],

There you might find 2 data points not showing up because y-axis range has been defined. I would also need those points to be rendered in the graph at boundary level (at 100). Is there any special property to set this (or) it is not working even if highcharts had default feature like that. Please help me with this.
You can preprocess your data to set y: 100 for values that are greater than 100 and save the original value to show it, for example in a tooltip:
var data = [
...
];
var processedData = data.map(el => ({
x: el[0],
y: el[1] > 100 ? 100 : el[1],
z: el[2],
realYVal: el[1]
}));
Highcharts.chart('container', {
...,
series: [{
data: processedData
}]
});

Remove the strikethrough on legend symbols for line charts?

I am using the predefined symbols for highcharts on a line chart, and would like to only have the symbol show. I do not want the line to show on there as well. I see that it is possible for a bubble chart, but when I change the chart type from bubble to line, the strikethrough appears: https://jsfiddle.net/gh/get/library/pure/highcharts/highcharts/tree/master/samples/highcharts/plotoptions/bubble-symbol/. Any thoughts on to how I could combat this? Thanks in advance!

I think that you can use the scatter series type to achieve it.
Demo: https://jsfiddle.net/BlackLabel/8gpnx90v/
chart: {
type: 'scatter'
},
API: https://www.highcharts.com/docs/chart-and-series-types/scatter-chart
Bit of a late answer but if you set symbolWidth to the same value as the radius of your symbols it will hide the lines in the legend:
legend: {
layout: 'horizontal',
align: 'center',
verticalAlign: 'bottom',
symbolWidth: 6
},
plotOptions: {
line: {
marker: {
symbol: 'circle',
radius: 6
}
}
},

Highcharts: Dates Off By 1 Month

I'm not sure what's going on, but dates are being displayed on the axis and in tooltips a month out. So the first date in data on this chart is in July but it shows up as in August and so on. Any ideas? I've put the code in a JSFiddle (http://jsfiddle.net/Z2VGL/1/) and also below:
$(function () {
$('#container').highcharts({
chart: {
type: 'spline'
},
title: {
text: ''
},
plotOptions: {
series: {
lineWidth: 5,
marker: {
fillColor: '#FFFFFF',
lineWidth: 2,
radius: 6,
lineColor: null // inherit from series
}
}
},
subtitle: {
text: ''
},
xAxis: {
type: 'datetime',
dateTimeLabelFormats: { // don't display the dummy year
month: '%e %b',
year: '%b'
}
},
yAxis: {
title: {
text: 'Ability Score (out of 100)',
style: {
color: '#323A45',
fontWeight: 'bold'
}
},
min: 0
},
tooltip: {
formatter: function () {
return '<b>' + this.series.name + '</b><br/>' + Highcharts.dateFormat('%e %b', this.x) + ': ' + this.y;
}
},
series: [{
name: 'Overall Ability',
// Define the data points. All series have a dummy year
// of 1970/71 in order to be compared on the same x axis. Note
// that in JavaScript, months start at 0 for January, 1 for February etc.

highcharts yaxis start on 1 min:1 not working

I need my yaxis in highcharts to always start on 1, not 0. My data sets are whole numbers with 1 being the lowest, i've tried everything combination on min, minrange startontick, that I could think of. The only way I was able to get the yaxis to show 1 instead of zero is with the snippet below. I basically hid the 0, then set a custom label for that plot band giving it a label of 1. Is this the only way?
yAxis: {
min:1,
showFirstLabel: false,
allowDecimals : false,
reversed: true,
plotBands: [{
color: '#EBFAEB',
from: 0,
to: 10,
label: {
text: '1',
style: {
color: '#000000',
},
align: 'left',
verticalAlign: 'top',
y: 0,
x: -15
}
}],
Sample data i'm using
series: [{
name: 'Tokyo',
data: [7, 6, 9, 14, 18, 21, 25, 26, 23, 18, 13, 9]
}, {
name: 'New York',
data: [13, 2, 1, 11, 17, 22, 24, 24, 20, 14, 8, 2]
}, {
name: 'Berlin',
data: [1, 3, 3, 8, 13, 17, 18, 17, 14, 9, 3, 1]
}, {
name: 'London',
data: [3, 4, 5, 8, 11, 15, 17, 16, 14, 10, 6, 4]
}]
It's probably because your tickInterval scales to something such that it wont' start at 0. min:1 should work if you give it an appropriate tickInterval.
Alternatively min:1 combined with startOnTick: false should also work.
EDIT:
I just tried the following combination myself and it works for me. If you tried this before and it didn't work for you then the issue is probably that you the proper case for the different options:
min: 1,
startOnTick: false,
tickInterval: 10
see: http://jsfiddle.net/Reality_Extractor/kTmqg/
Have you tried to use tickPositioner?
