iOS with Firebase notification, all not working - ios

What ever I do the notification is not received.
Sending to Android is going fine, sending to iOS is a failure
I am sending from Firebase Console
I am not receiving foreground or background notification
here is the AppDelegate.swift
import UIKit
import Firebase
import FirebaseMessaging
import UserNotifications
#UIApplicationMain
class AppDelegate: UIResponder, UIApplicationDelegate, UNUserNotificationCenterDelegate {
var window: UIWindow?
func application(_ application: UIApplication, didFinishLaunchingWithOptions launchOptions: [UIApplicationLaunchOptionsKey: Any]?) -> Bool {
// Override point for customization after application launch.
if #available(iOS 10.0, *) {
UIView.appearance().semanticContentAttribute = .forceLeftToRight
}
FirebaseApp.configure()
// [START set_messaging_delegate]
Messaging.messaging().delegate = self as? MessagingDelegate
// [END set_messaging_delegate]
//create the notificationCenter

// For iOS 10 display notification (sent via APNS)

let authOptions: UNAuthorizationOptions = [.alert, .badge, .sound]
UNUserNotificationCenter.current().requestAuthorization(
options: authOptions,
completionHandler: {_, _ in })
// For iOS 10 data message (sent via FCM)
//FIRMessaging.messaging().remoteMessageDelegate = self
} else {
let settings: UIUserNotificationSettings =
UIUserNotificationSettings(types: [.alert, .badge, .sound], categories: nil)
application.registerUserNotificationSettings(settings)
}
application.registerForRemoteNotifications()
return true
}
func application(_ application: UIApplication, didRegisterForRemoteNotificationsWithDeviceToken deviceToken: Data) {
var token = ""
for i in 0..<deviceToken.count {
token = token + String(format: "%02.2hhx", arguments: [deviceToken[i]])
}
print("Registration succeeded! Token: ", token)
let topicName = "/topics/ChaclateOnMobile"
Messaging.messaging().subscribe(toTopic: topicName)
}
func application(_ application: UIApplication, didFailToRegisterForRemoteNotificationsWithError error: Error) {
print("Registration failed! \(error)")
}
// Firebase notification received
#available(iOS 10.0, *)
func userNotificationCenter(_ center: UNUserNotificationCenter, willPresent notification: UNNotification, withCompletionHandler completionHandler: #escaping (_ options: UNNotificationPresentationOptions) -> Void) {
// custom code to handle push while app is in the foreground
print("Handle push from foreground\(notification.request.content.userInfo)")
let dict = notification.request.content.userInfo["aps"] as! NSDictionary
let d : [String : Any] = dict["alert"] as! [String : Any]
let body : String = d["body"] as! String
let title : String = d["title"] as! String
print("Title:\(title) + body:\(body)")
self.showAlertAppDelegate(title: title,message:body,buttonTitle:"ok",window:self.window!)
}
#available(iOS 10.0, *)
func userNotificationCenter(_ center: UNUserNotificationCenter, didReceive response: UNNotificationResponse, withCompletionHandler completionHandler: #escaping () -> Void) {
// if you set a member variable in didReceiveRemoteNotification, you will know if this is from closed or background
print("Handle push from background or closed\(response.notification.request.content.userInfo)")
}
func showAlertAppDelegate(title: String,message : String,buttonTitle: String,window: UIWindow){
let alert = UIAlertController(title: title, message: message, preferredStyle: UIAlertControllerStyle.alert)
alert.addAction(UIAlertAction(title: buttonTitle, style: UIAlertActionStyle.default, handler: nil))
window.rootViewController?.present(alert, animated: false, completion: nil)
}
// Firebase ended here
}

Check if you are using the correct token for sending notifications.
Have you registered your app to receive Push Notifications?
Check if you have implemented proper methods in AppDelegate.
When the app is not running, the notification is received in didFinishLaunchingWithOptions.
Add this to didFinishLaunchingWithOptions in your code:
if let notification = launchOptions?[.remoteNotification] as? [String: AnyObject]
{
//Your code
}
When your app is in background/foreground, the notification is received in didReceiveRemoteNotification
func application(
_ application: UIApplication,
didReceiveRemoteNotification userInfo: [AnyHashable : Any],
fetchCompletionHandler completionHandler: #escaping (UIBackgroundFetchResult) -> Void)
{
//Your code
}

Firebase push notification not showing while App in foreground iOS

I am sending push notification by using FCM and PushTry, While the app is in suspended mode (App is closed) notification is coming but while app in foreground mode (App is open) notification coming but not showing banner.
didReceiveRemoteNotification notification method is calling when app in foreground mode and print data but not showing banner.
Code:-
import UIKit
import FirebaseCore
import FirebaseMessaging
import IQKeyboardManagerSwift
#UIApplicationMain
class AppDelegate: UIResponder, UIApplicationDelegate {
var window : UIWindow?
func application(_ application: UIApplication, didFinishLaunchingWithOptions launchOptions: [UIApplication.LaunchOptionsKey : Any]?) -> Bool {
FirebaseApp.configure()
Messaging.messaging().delegate = self
registerForFirebaseNotification(application: application)
return true
}
func registerForFirebaseNotification(application: UIApplication) {
if #available(iOS 10.0, *) {
//For iOS 10 display notification (sent via APNS)
UNUserNotificationCenter.current().delegate = self
let authOptions: UNAuthorizationOptions = [.alert, .badge, .sound]
UNUserNotificationCenter.current().requestAuthorization(options: authOptions,completionHandler: { _, _ in })
} else {
let settings: UIUserNotificationSettings =
UIUserNotificationSettings(types: [.alert, .badge, .sound], categories: nil)
application.registerUserNotificationSettings(settings)
}
application.registerForRemoteNotifications()
}
}
extension AppDelegate: MessagingDelegate {
func messaging(_ messaging: Messaging, didReceiveRegistrationToken fcmToken: String?) {
print("Firebase token: \(fcmToken ?? "")")
let dataDict: [String: String] = ["token": fcmToken ?? ""]
NotificationCenter.default.post( name: Notification.Name("FCMToken"),object: nil, userInfo: dataDict )
}
func application(application: UIApplication, didRegisterForRemoteNotificationsWithDeviceToken deviceToken: Data) {
Messaging.messaging().apnsToken = deviceToken
}
//UNUserNotificationCenterDelegate
func application(_ application: UIApplication, didReceiveRemoteNotification userInfo: [AnyHashable : Any], fetchCompletionHandler completionHandler: #escaping (UIBackgroundFetchResult) -> Void) {
print("APNs received with: \(userInfo)")
}
func userNotificationCenter(_ center: UNUserNotificationCenter, willPresent notification: UNNotification, withCompletionHandler completionHandler: #escaping (UNNotificationPresentationOptions) -> Void) {
let content = notification.request.content
print("\(content.userInfo)")
completionHandler([.banner, .list, .sound]) // Display notification Banner
}
}
Print:-
APNs received with: [AnyHashable("google.c.sender.id"): 0000000000,
AnyHashable("google.c.fid"): 000000000, AnyHashable("google.c.a.e"): 1,

body = 22eeee;
title = 11;
};
"content-available" = 1;
}, AnyHashable("gcm.message_id"): 00000000]

Question: Can someone please explain to me how to show banner when app in foreground mode, I've tried with above code but no results yet. If i'm doing wrong please correct me.
Can someone please explain to me show notification banner?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Firebase - Push Notifications - Not quite working as expected

In order to try out Push Notifications with Firebase I have been following these three documents:
One, Two, Three and Four.
I have one question, but before asking; here is what I can see:
When my app is in the foreground and a notification is sent, only this function is called:
userNotificationCenter(_:willPresent:withCompletionHandler:)
If I tap on the notification, then this one is also so called:
userNotificationCenter(_:didReceive:withCompletionHandler:)
When my app is in the background and a notification is sent, nothing is called.
If I tap on the notification, then this one is called:
userNotificationCenter(_:didReceive:withCompletionHandler:)
As a result of this situation, whithout having to react (by tapping on the notification); I can have the app perform some useful action when a notification is arriving while in the foreground, using the userNotificationCenter(_:willPresent:withCompletionHandler:) function.
On the other hand while in the background, I can only have the app perform some useful action when a notification is arriving if the user taps on the notification.
Is there a way for me to also have the app perform some useful action even if the user has no reaction?
Here is the relevant code I have at this point:
import UIKit
import Firebase
import UserNotifications
import FirebaseInstanceID
import FirebaseMessaging
#UIApplicationMain
class AppDelegate: UIResponder, UIApplicationDelegate, UNUserNotificationCenterDelegate, MessagingDelegate {
var window: UIWindow?
func application(_ application: UIApplication,
didFinishLaunchingWithOptions launchOptions: [UIApplication.LaunchOptionsKey: Any]?) -> Bool {
window = UIWindow(frame: UIScreen.main.bounds)
UNUserNotificationCenter.current().delegate = self
let authOptions: UNAuthorizationOptions = [.alert, .badge, .sound]
UNUserNotificationCenter.current().requestAuthorization(
options: authOptions,
completionHandler: {
granted, error in
if error != nil {print("Error: \(error!)")}
if granted {
DispatchQueue.main.async
{application.registerForRemoteNotifications()}
}
})
FirebaseApp.configure()
.......
return true
}
func application(_ application: UIApplication,
didReceiveRemoteNotification userInfo: [AnyHashable: Any]) {
print(#function)
if let messageID = userInfo[gcmMessageIDKey] {
print("Message ID: \(messageID)")
}
// Print full message.
print(userInfo)
}
func application(_ application: UIApplication,
didReceiveRemoteNotification userInfo: [AnyHashable: Any],
fetchCompletionHandler completionHandler: #escaping (UIBackgroundFetchResult) -> Void) {
print(#function)
if let messageID = userInfo[gcmMessageIDKey] {
print("Message ID: \(messageID)")
}
// Print full message.
print(userInfo)
completionHandler(UIBackgroundFetchResult.newData)
}
}

didReceiveRemoteNotification function doesn't called with FCM notification server

I'm using FCM server for remote notifications, it worked perfectly with sending and receiving notifications.
My problem is when the device is in the background, this function func application(_ application: UIApplication, didReceiveRemoteNotification userInfo: [AnyHashable : Any], fetchCompletionHandler completionHandler: #escaping (UIBackgroundFetchResult) -> Void) doesn't called.
Solutions that I've tried:
This function:
userNotificationCenter(_ center: UNUserNotificationCenter, didReceive response: UNNotificationResponse, withCompletionHandler completionHandler: #escaping () -> Void)
is called when user tapped on the notification. Otherwise, it's not triggered.
Adding "content-available": true, "priority": "high" to the payload. Also, I tried this value "content-available": 1.
This is my function code:
func application(_ application: UIApplication, didReceiveRemoteNotification userInfo: [AnyHashable : Any],
fetchCompletionHandler completionHandler: #escaping (UIBackgroundFetchResult) -> Void) {
print("userInfo: \(userInfo)")
completionHandler(.newData);
}
Just adding on accepted answer: in my case the problem was the same, but as I'm sending the Notification through an http "POST" NSMUtableRequest the way to apply the accepted answer was to actually add it in the notification parameters together with sound, badge, tiles etc etc..
let postParams: [String : Any] = [
"to": receiverToken,
"notification": [
"badge" : 1,
"body": body,
"title": title,
"subtitle": subtitle,
"sound" : true, // or specify audio name to play
"content_available": true, // this will call didReceiveRemoteNotification in receiving app, else won't work
"priority": "high"
],
"data" : [
"data": "ciao",
]
]
Hope this will also help others, as I spent a long time trying to figure out how to apply this solution.
Many thanks.
If you are testing with Postman then try changing "content-available": true to "content_available" : true. content-available will send notification but it doesn't call didReceiveRemoteNotification.
All you need to see remote notification in background and foreground and show as alert when app run are this appDelegate.swift that i used in my code:

var window: UIWindow?

func messaging(_ messaging: Messaging, didReceive remoteMessage: MessagingRemoteMessage) {
print("Received data message: \(remoteMessage.appData)")
}
// [END ios_10_data_message]
}
The first thing you need to check is the Background Mode > Remote Notification is on. If not, it will not be invoked in the background mode.
Step 1 – Add framework
import UserNotifications
Step 2 – Inherit AppDelegate with UNUserNotificationCenterDelegate
final class AppDelegate: UIResponder, UIApplicationDelegate, UNUserNotificationCenterDelegate {}
Step 3 – Make appropriate changes for registerPushNotifications and call it didFinishLaunchingWithOptions
private func registerPushNotifications() {
if #available(iOS 10.0, *) {
UNUserNotificationCenter.currentNotificationCenter().delegate = self
UNUserNotificationCenter.currentNotificationCenter().requestAuthorizationWithOptions([.Badge, .Sound, .Alert], completionHandler: { granted, error in
if granted {
UIApplication.sharedApplication().registerForRemoteNotifications()
} else {
// Unsuccessful...
}
})
} else {
let userNotificationTypes: UIUserNotificationType = [.Alert, .Badge, .Sound]
let settings = UIUserNotificationSettings(forTypes: userNotificationTypes, categories: nil)
UIApplication.sharedApplication().registerUserNotificationSettings(settings)
UIApplication.sharedApplication().registerForRemoteNotifications()
}
}
Step 4 – Implement new handlers
// leave this for older versions
func application(application: UIApplication, didReceiveRemoteNotification userInfo: [NSObject : AnyObject], fetchCompletionHandler completionHandler: (UIBackgroundFetchResult) -> Void) {
}
// For iOS10 use these methods and pay attention how we can get userInfo
// Foreground push notifications handler
#available(iOS 10.0, *)
func userNotificationCenter(center: UNUserNotificationCenter, willPresentNotification notification: UNNotification, withCompletionHandler completionHandler: (UNNotificationPresentationOptions) -> Void) {
if let userInfo = notification.request.content.userInfo as? [String : AnyObject] {
// Getting user info
}
completionHandler(.Badge)
}
// Background and closed push notifications handler
#available(iOS 10.0, *)
func userNotificationCenter(center: UNUserNotificationCenter, didReceiveNotificationResponse response: UNNotificationResponse, withCompletionHandler completionHandler: () -> Void) {
if let userInfo = response.notification.request.content.userInfo as? [String : AnyObject] {
// Getting user info
}
completionHandler()
}
As you tried i believe every thing , background permission is enable , content-available is the part of payload, you are also receiving notification in active state, last thing will be Power save mode, you need to check is power saving is off; as if you Phone is in power saving mode, then background refresh and other process is gone in limited state, so app will not call didReceivedNotifcation in background.

UNUserNotificationDelegate method is not getting called and notification is not displaying FCM

I am trying to implement FCM in my Application. I have followed the Documentation https://firebase.google.com/docs/ios/setup and created APN'S key and installed the pod files also.

Now problem is I am getting data in below method:
func application(_ application: UIApplication, didReceiveRemoteNotification userInfo: [AnyHashable : Any], fetchCompletionHandler completionHandler: #escaping (UIBackgroundFetchResult) -> Void) {

}
But I am not getting notification and my UNUserNotification Methods are also not getting called.

FCM notification issue - swift3

I have successfully added firebase and notification in my project. Using this Notifications are coming and I can access them by tapping on that notification. But the issue is if my app is closed, I got a notification, now without tapping on that I cleared that. Now no data inserted in my Db. How to keep all notifications on queue to access directly when app is opened next time. Thanks in advance.

if you are launching your application then you can get you notification object in didFinishLaunchingWithOptions method try this. if you have
not cleared notification from notification center.
if (launchOptions != nil) {
if let remoteNotification = launchOptions?
[UIApplicationLaunchOptionsKey.remoteNotification] {
let objNotification = remoteNotification as! [AnyHashable :
Any]
}
}
