I'm new to Docker so I don't even know where to look. Here are the instructions:
Next, pull a base image that’s compatible with the evaluation build, re-tag it and to a test-run:
docker pull microsoft/windowsservercore:10.0.14393.321
docker tag microsoft/windowsservercore:10.0.14393.321 microsoft/windowsservercore
docker run microsoft/windowsservercore hostname
69c7de26ea48
And this is the error I get on the docker run step:
docker: Error response from daemon: container

use this lines in cmd:

docker container run mcr.microsoft.com/windows/nanoserver:20H2 hostname
I have a unique problem running docker's hello-world
on Windows Server 2019, with Ubuntu's version
Ubuntu_2004.2020.424.0_x64. The run fails.
I have performed the standard install instructions for
Docker given on the Docker website, for Ubuntu.
The Docker service is running, yet the software
cannot perform Docker's standard test of hello-world.
Are there unique settings which can aid in this problem?
The commands used are below:
docker run hello-world
Unable to find image 'hello-world:latest' locally
latest: Pulling from library/hello-world

docker: Error response from daemon: OCI runtime create failed: container_linux.go:380: starting container process caused: process_linux.go:722: waiting for init preliminary setup caused: EOF: unknown.
I am using docker in Linux ol7. I have installed a docker successfully. But when I try to pull images from the docker hub I am getting the below error.
[root#xxxxx ~]# docker run hello-world
Unable to find image 'hello-world: latest' locally
docker: error during connect: Post http://%2Fvar%2Frun%2Fdocker.sock/v1.39/images/create?fromImage=hello-world&tag=latest: EOF.
See 'docker run --help'.
Docker Version I am using - Docker version 18.09.1-ol, build e32a1bd
Try to pass to full docker registry offical URL, from the error it seems like it looking on host machine Docker socket docker.sock or somewhere else but not on offical registry.
docker run registry.hub.docker.com/library/hello-world
You can explore this and this to deal with registry url.
If you launch docker-run by yourself it works, if you do this with docker-compose it doesn't

Hello from Docker!
This message shows that your installation appears to be working correctly.
To generate this message, Docker took the following steps:
1. The Docker client contacted the Docker daemon.
2. The Docker daemon pulled the "hello-world" image from the Docker Hub.
(amd64)
3. The Docker daemon created a new container from that image which runs the
executable that produces the output you are currently reading.
4. The Docker daemon streamed that output to the Docker client, which sent it
to your terminal.
To try something more ambitious, you can run an Ubuntu container with:
$ docker run -it ubuntu bash

roman#debian ~/D/O/devops> docker-compose build app

Ok it's solved, previously been installing compose from repository, now installed through pip and it's working
I have installed Docker on Ubuntu machine. I have problem with docker pull command, I am getting connection reset by peer error.
root#machine1:~# docker pull ubuntu
Using default tag: latest
Error response from daemon: Get https://registry-1.docker.io/v2/: read tcp 10.80.64.126:51404->54.152.209.167:443: read: connection reset by peer
command : docker images worked and gave empty result as no image is downloaded on docker host. But as this command is working, shows docker installed successfully.
REPOSITORY TAG IMAGE ID CREATED SIZE
My docker version is 1.13.1.
How can I solve this problem?
