Is there are way to dynamically hide a setting in kivy? - kivy

I have a Kivy app that uses a slightly modified Settings as a data record editor.
I want to hide or show an item after the setting panel has been created (depending on user interaction with some other setting item).
Is there a simple way of dynamically hiding a setting item, so that it doesn't take up any space?
I can set the opacity to 0 and disabled to True and the items disappears, but still takes space.
Setting the size to (0,0) (to hide) and resetting it to the original value (to show it) corrupts the view.
What is the correct way of doing this?
Removing the SettingItem seems complicated, because the items to hide a somewhere in the middle of the items.

How can I selectively disable android:windowSoftInputMode="adjustResize" from manifest file?

Initially I want to show a composable immediately on top of the Android default keyboard, what slides in if needed on my different screens. Similar like in this example, but I do not want to set WindowCompat.setDecorFitsSystemWindows(window, false), which would be required for this solution.
Therefore, I've set in the manifestv for that Activity:
android:windowSoftInputMode="adjustResize"
And aligned stuff I want to display immediately on top of the keyboard to Alignment.Bottom.
For the very same activity, I also have a use case, where the keyboard slides in, but I do not want to align it on top of the keyboard. it shall remain on the the same position as it was without keyboard.
Can I selectively tell a composable to ignore android:windowSoftInputMode="adjustResize", which was already set for the whole Activity?

How to make Filemaker textbox resizable according to content

I'd like to create a layout to show this table in list view, the point is to make the text field resizable according to content. I have try several method, but all fails. I am using FileMaker 12.
Any help much appreciated.
For Browse mode you can set layout objects to dynamically resize based on the layout size, but not on the object contents. If you need this functionality in Browse mode you will probably need to use a web-viewer.
In Preview mode you can use sliding left and sliding up for reduction of the size of the layout objects, but there is no option to expand.
In Browse and Find modes, if a field isn't set to have a scroll bar, the field will expand while the user is entering data, but only then. It will return to the default size when the user navigates to another field or another record.
In Preview mode, you can make the field larger than it could possibly need and set it to slide up and also reduce the size of the enclosing part. But the user won't be able to interact with the interface of the layout (can't click buttons, change data, etc.).
A workaround might be to use a tooltip. If you set the tooltip to the contents of the field itself, then the user can hover over the field to see any expanded contents.
If you really need exactly the functionality that you mention (which I would define as having field height and enclosing body part expand in list view based on the field's content length while in FileMaker), the only way I could see doing it would be to use custom web publishing to create a web page and use FileMaker's web viewer to show that web page. F 'n' web has an article that might be of some assistance if you go this route.

Positioning of custom list box item components in Delphi XE5, Firemonkey

I've customised the style of a Firmeonkey list box item in such a way that now it can consist of 4 TLables in it. Each of the lable has Alignment as alNone.
I'm setting position of each of them in my code whenever i need to add any item. I've observed that when my list has scroll bar and if first component is not visible (i.e. i've scrolled down enough) at that time if i re-add all the items again in list box, then the position of TLabels in first items (or items which are not shown) get distorted.
For setting positions I am using below code :
(tmpListBoxItem.FindStyleResource('txtCol2') As TLabel).Position.X :=
(tmpListBoxItem.FindStyleResource('txtCol2') As TLabel).Position.X + (tmpListBoxItem.FindStyleResource('txtCol2') As TLabel).Width;
Any suggesstions, how can i overcome this issue.

Firemonkey styles are repeatedly 'applied' and 'freed' as components appear and disappear from screen.
It is not enough to simply set properties of style objects once and expect those values to be remembered. What you need to do is either listen to the OnApplyStyleLookup event or override the ApplyStyle method of a custom component and use the same you have above to set the properties again.
This means you'll need somewhere to store the values you are going to set.
I would suggest for your situation that you subclass TListBoxItem so you can add suitable properties or fields and put your code in ApplyStyle.

In Xcode Interface Builder - why are the options in the Editor--->Arrange menu (containing Send to Front, Send to Back) often disabled?

What I'm trying to do is simple: bring a label in front of an image within a subview.
But all of the options for arranging are disabled/un-selectable when my label is selected. I find this happens often.
What could be the reason that I'm almost never allowed to change the z-axis of my objects in the Arrange menu? Is it a better practice to avoid this feature and set the order of views programmatically?
It can depend on how you have selected the label (similar to how the label can only be moved with the keyboard when selected in some ways).
A simple alternative is to look at the list of view in the pane on the left and to drag the views up and down to change the order.
It happens sometimes. In that situation, click the view or image you want to send back then you will see little square box at the edges of image from which you can re size your image, Just click on it once and then go to Editor > Arrange > Choose option according your need.

How do I activate an in-place editor for a grid cell that displays as a progress bar?

One of the cells in my DBTreeListView is bound to a repository item that is a progress bar.
I want to be able to edit the progress displayed by clicking on this cell. At this stage my application should change its cell to another repository item: a text field where I'll be able to insert a value. Once focus is changed to another cell, my progress bar should be displayed again, showing a new value. How do I do this?
DBTreeListView has column events OnGetEditingProperty and OnGetEditProperties. I'll probably use one (or both) of them, but can't come up with any good idea.
This can be simply. You should handle click on this progress bar and display editor over it. You need to handle scrolling and clicking in another place to get rid of editor. And in case that scrolling too far - editor should be hidden.
Steps:
Create hidden editor for progress
Handle OnClick for tree view item
Display editor and set focus
On editor enter (or tab) save progress information
On click on form or another part of tree view - hide editor (saving/discarding changes how specified by your policy)
On scroll tree view move the editor and when bounds of parent does not overlap bounds of editor - hide it

Vladimir
