Swift SideMenu show view controller - ios

So I'm having a table view controller and using https://github.com/jonkykong/SideMenu i'm trying to display a "slide in" sidebar which works, but it doesn't show me the view that I want in the sidebar is black

When It clicks on the sidebar button I have this, which creates the animation but doesn't show the viewcontroller

Simply set menuFadeStatusbar = false
SideMenuManager.default.menuFadeStatusBar = false
From the previous link, you will find the following information : "Draws the menuAnimationBackgroundColor behind the status bar. Default is true.
If menuFadeStatusBar is true, this color is used to fade it. Default is black."

First:

From a button, do something like this:

Answer
You need use UISideMenuNavigationController(rootViewController:), not UISideMenuNavigationController().
If you open the side menu from left, set leftSide to true.
let menu = UISideMenuNavigationController(rootViewController: YourViewController)
menu.leftSide = true
present(menu, animated: true, completion: nil)
Of course, you should give instance variable to UISideMenuNavigationController(rootViewController:).

I can recommend using JASidePanels
It's pretty simple and it just works. You're creating an JASidePanelController, setting this class to empty viewcontroller in your Storyboard and making this controller initial. (do not forget to import JASidePanels at the top of the class)
Then, in this class, you're implementing awakeFromNib() method like this:
leftPanel = ..//instantiating menu controller
let centerController = ...//instantiating center controller
centerPanel = UINavigationController(rootViewController: centerController)
That's it.
You can instantiate controller via their ID which can be set in Identity Inspector

How to use the UInavigationcontroller animation with library Motion?

I came across a library call Motion on GitHub which provide sets of transition on view and controllers.
Based on the website, to use the animation on navigation controller we need to create a new navigation controller class like below, and I apply the new navigation controller. But when it failed and not pushing to the new view controller.

If you want to create a separate NavigationController and push specific UIViewController to it, then you need to present the navigation controller instead of pushing it. See below.

Custom alertViewController in storyboard

I would like to show a popup (I just have UIAlertController in mind) like the the image below:
What I want to achieve
I found some kind of similar questions on the internet but they are code based, this way it is really hard to align the stuff in the position I want and handle the user interaction.
Is there a way that I kinda make a separate "Something" in the Storyboard and then here just pop that up? I thought of a whole ViewController but that covers the whole screen.
Any suggestions or solutions are highly appreciated. 🙏
You need to present it modally , so make the VC give it identifier and load it anywhere

More importantly is to set background of the view in IB like this
ViewController Doesn't fill the entire screen all the time. This is just the default setting.
Set .modalPresentationStyle property of your child controller to .overCurrentContext and present it modally.
Now, if you view Controller has an transparent background, it will be presented like an alert.
First design viewController in storyBoard and keep in mind your ViewController main view background color should be either clear or change its Alpha to like 0.5
Add below extension

I want to open a view on an another view by clicking button. I am attaching snap of it, for better understanding.

You can use this library (MZFormSheetPresentationController) to create the Alert like views with Images,Buttons and lots of functions. You can design viewController as you expected.

How to present PopOver in iOS9

I am trying to create a pop over and when I present the view controller, the background is always solid black and the size is full screen.
I can't seem to figure out what's wrong and here is the code that I have

Whenever I click on the UIBarButtonItem, it presents the view in full screen, but shouldn't it be the size I specify in line 5?
Popovers are quite finicky now. First, you are going to want to configure the popoverPresentationController before you present it.
Secondly, make sure your arrow direction is pointing the way the arrow points and not where the content is respective to the UIBarButtonItem. So, if its inside UIToolbar (and is near the bottom of the screen) you'll want .Down otherwise if its a navigation bar (near the top) you'll want to use .Up.

Now if you got this far and its still not working, its because the popover's default behavior in a compact size class is to fill the screen. Since you are already setting your view controller to be the popover's delegate you'll just need to implement this delegate function: adaptivePresentationStyleForPresentationController(_:traitCollection:) and return .None for the presentation style. This will allow you to even show a real looking popover on the iPhone. See my blog post: iPhone Popover for a full example of doing this.

Swift: Can't Add Button to Navigation Bar of ABPersonViewController

I've noticed that if I have a UIViewController in a UINavigationController, something like:

Adding a button the navigation bar is as easy as: vc.navigationItem.leftBarButtonItem = ...
If however, the view controller is of type ABPersonViewController, like this:
let person = ABPersonViewController()
person.personViewDelegate = self
person.displayedPerson = info
let nav = UINavigationController()
nav.viewControllers = [person]
self.presentViewController(nav, animated: true, completion: nil)
I can't add a button the navigation bar in the same way; person.navigationItem.leftBarButtonItem = ..., as seems to be done here, does nothing.
Is there, then, a way to add a button to the navigation bar of an ABPersonViewController?
You cannot add a button on ABPersonViewController. Even if you are able to add, it will be rejected by apple. What you can do is make a custom view like ABPersonViewController and change whatever you want in it. (My personal opinion is that ABPersonViewController is fine and you should not have a problem living with it).
Your best bet is to just create a View Controller file for your ABPersonViewController and set the button normally in viewDidLoad.
ie:
self.navigationItem.leftBarButtonItem = menuButton
You could add the button to the bar non-programatically by adding a Navigation Item to the view and then adding a bar button item.
