I am using jsPDF and jsAutotable to generate pdf for the table that is in the DOM.
First of all I want to create multiple tables that are present in the DOM using a button click.
Secondly I also want to create pdf file for multiple tables using an ajax call to the server using another button. I have tried to look around for some tutorial but have not found anything specific.
Can anybody help please.
I have been able to create multiple tables. Since I needed to create two tables in my pdf file, so I needed to call autoTableHTMLToJson function twice after getting the information from my html tables. After doing this you can define the options for each of the table also. Since there is very limited assistance available for js auto table so if anyone needs help in this regard just comment below, I might be able to help.

I am trying to use importXML or importHTML function to retrieve a stock options chain, specifically using this function to get a table. So far, this is what I have:
=importhtml("https://bigcharts.marketwatch.com/quickchart/options.asp?symb=TSLA","table",3)
The problem I'm getting is that I can't retrieve "hidden" tables. For example, if you go on the website: https://bigcharts.marketwatch.com/quickchart/options.asp?symb=TSLA
If you scroll down on this page the hidden tables would only be revealed if you click on ,"show april 2022", "show may 2022", etc. I am trying to retrieve all of this information.
The end result is that I would like to create a table that looks like this:
https://www.barchart.com/stocks/quotes/tsla/put-call-ratios
And a table that looks like this:
https://www.barchart.com/stocks/quotes/TSLA/options?moneyness=10&view=stacked&expiration=2022-04-14-m
As a result, there are two things that I am trying to create, the above tables shown on barchart.
I have tried to use importHTML or importXML on barchart, but it looks like it's not allowed. If there is a way to directly retrieve the information from barchart, that would be a much better solution rather than having to import all of the data separately using a different website.
Please note, that I do have a beginner knowledge, so a step-by-step solution on what to do would be very helpful. Thank you
I cannot get an entire table to populate with ImportXML. At best I get the first column and I cannot figure this out.

P.S. I have scoured this website and google for answers and every case I find seems to be a syntax error, starting at the table itself doesn't return the entire table which tells me I need a clever method.
It seems that's an issue with the website, because when you click on Inspect you can see the table with id "boss-table-1010" but if you click on View Source that ID is not available, so the table is dynamically rendered and Sheets doesn't find such id.
I've checked it and I can get the data by doing

But if you want a more robust solution, it'll be better doing it programmatically by using Python for web scraping
I have a datetime value which comes from the API in this format: 2015-07-07T17:30:00+00:00. I simply want to split it up between the date and time values at this point. I am not using an Active Record model and I prefer not to use an sql database if I can.
The way I have set up the app means that the value is "stored" like this in my view: #search.dining_date_and_time
I have tried two approaches to solving this problem:
Manually based on this previous stackoverflow question from 2012: Using multiple input fields for one attribute - but the error I get is the attribute is "nil" even though I put a "try"
Using this gem, https://github.com/ccallebs/split_date_time which is a bit more recent and seems to be a more elegant solution, but after closely following the doc, I get this error, saying my Search model is not initalized and there is no method: undefined method dining_date' for #<Search not initialized>
This is when instead I put #search.dining_date in the view, which seems to be the equivalent of the doc's example (its not that clear). The doc also says the method will be automatically generated.
Do I need to alter my model so I receive the data from the API in another way? ie. not get the variable back as #search.dining_date_and_time from the Search model for any of this to work?
Do I need an Active Record model so that before_filter or before_save logic works - so i can (re)concatenate after splitting so the data is sent back to the API in a format it understands. Can I avoid this - it seems a bit of overkill to restructure the whole app and put in a full database just so I can split and join date/time as needed.
Happy to provide further details, code snippets if required.
As I am not using a conventional Rails DB like MySql Lite or Postgresql, I found that the best solution to the problem was by using this jQuery date Format plugin: https://github.com/phstc/jquery-dateFormat to split the date and time values for display when I get the data back from the API.
The Github docs were not too expansive, but once I put the simply put the library file in my Rails javascript assets folder, I just had to write a few lines of jQuery to get the result and format I wanted:

Next challenge: rejoin the values on submit, so the API can read the data by sending/receiving a valid request/response. (The values can't be split like this when sent to the remote service).
I'm using Rails 3 to create a project that will need a model called Sketch. I've already created a model, controller, and migration to handle Sketch - so far it just creates a 'sketch' object with a name for each sketch.
My problem is that I need to be able to attach an html5 canvas to each sketch object when it is created (or remove it when it is destroyed).
Since 'canvas' is not a datatype that will be stored in the database (like 'string', 'integer', or 'datetime'), how do I go about creating custom html components such as this that need to be treated like any other datatype in a Rails app?
I'm assuming that you would need to add the html components to a Model method and use a callback - like after_save - to initiate the component. But I'm not sure at all how to do this.

HTML5 canvases are rendered in the browser, not on the server where your ruby code is actually executed. Therefore I think it's safe to say that what you're asking isn't possible (at least in the way the question is phrased).
Instead you'll need to work with HTML, CSS and Javascript in your view to get the canvas working.

Using Advantage Server 9x, I am trying to create a copy of a DBF/CDX table structure using the following code:
table1.AdsCopyTableStructure(d.AdsConnectionTemp.connectPath+'table.dbf');
The table that is created is of the type ttAdsADT, even though the original table is ttAdsCDX.
I tried using AdsConvertTable on the resulting table, but it pops an exception complaining that the operation cannot be done on free tables.
Any way to do this?
I was not able to get this function to work, but came up with a work around by using the following code:

You have a couple of options.
If you don't mind having a single record you can always do
Select top 1 * into mynewtable.dbf from oldtable
which is quick
A second option would be to do your first method, saving it to an adt file (which is the default) then open THAT table and use ADSConvertTable function to create the DBF.
