UIimage not appearing over scrollview in iOS - ios

Need to scroll the scrollview horizontally and with images under it.
It is scrolling horizontally but cannot see my images over it even after the changing the background. Please find the code below :-
#import "ViewController.h"
#interface ViewController () <UIScrollViewDelegate>
#property (nonatomic , weak) IBOutlet UIScrollView *scrollView;
#end
#implementation ViewController
- (void)viewDidLoad {
[super viewDidLoad];
for(int i=0; i<5; i++) {
UIImageView *imageView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake((self.view.window.frame.size.width/5)*i, 0, self.view.window.frame.size.width/5, 48)];
imageView.image = [UIImage imageNamed:#"t3"];
imageView.backgroundColor = [UIColor blackColor];
[_scrollView addSubview:imageView];
}
_scrollView.contentSize = CGSizeMake(self.view.window.frame.size.width, 48.0f);
[self.view addSubview:_scrollView];
}
- (void)didReceiveMemoryWarning {
[super didReceiveMemoryWarning];
// Dispose of any resources that can be recreated.
}
#end

Set a break point in your loop and check the frames of your imageviews and check that you image "t3" is actually being loaded.
Other things you could change,
You don't need to use self.view.window.frame, just use self.view.frame.
You add your scrollview to your view, but it's an IBOutlet, you don't need to do this if you already have it in the hierarchy on the storyboard or xib.
If you still have problems please comment, good luck.

The problem is about self.view.window.
From Apple's document, is says that
This property is nil if the view has not yet been added to a window.
You have not added self.view to a window yet, so if you use
NSLog(#"self.view.window: %#", self.view.window);
the log will be
self.view.window: (null)
That is to say, the value of self.view.window.frame.size.width is 0.
So the solution is easy:
Use self.view.frame.size.width instead of self.view.window.frame.size.width.
OR use the code below to add self.view to a window
[[[[UIApplication sharedApplication] windows] firstObject] addSubview:self.view];

Copying UIButtons frame gives wrong position

I want to create another UIView / UIButton on an UIButton so I'm getting its' frame and use it in declaration of another UIView but It creates like below screenshot (with blue view). By the way, button is created on storyboard.
I'm using Xcode 9.1 and iOS 11.1
- (void)viewDidLoad {
UIView *picker = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:_mButton.frame];
picker.backgroundColor=[UIColor blueColor];
[self.view addSubview: picker];
}
Screenshot 1
Screnshot 2
I guess the proper frames are not calculated in viewDidLoad. You can try to make picker a property and adjust its frame in viewDidLayoutSubviews
#property (strong, nonatomic) UIView *picker;
- (void)viewDidLoad {
[super viewDidLoad];
self.picker = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:_mButton.frame];
self.picker.backgroundColor=[UIColor blueColor];
[self.view addSubview: self.picker];
}
- (void)viewDidLayoutSubviews {
self.picker.frame = _mButton.frame;
[super viewDidLayoutSubviews];
}
But off course using storyboard and autolayout would probably be the best sollution if you have this possibility.

How can I refer to the view of a subclass from a superclass in Objective-C?

So I have a few different view controllers that I want to have login screens over, which are just a simple text box over a blurred screen. Thus, I thought the best idea would be to make a superclass called Login that all the different view controllers could use. Here's the code for Login.h:
#import <UIKit/UIKit.h>
#interface Login : UIViewController
#property (strong, nonatomic) UIVisualEffectView *blurEffectView;
#property (strong, nonatomic) UITextField *pass;
- (void) enter;
#end
Login.m:
#import "Login.h"
#interface Login () {
NSString *password;
}
#end
#implementation Login
- (void)viewDidLoad {
[super viewDidLoad];
// Do any additional setup after loading the view.
NSLog(#"In the Login viewDidLoad");
[self presentLogin];
}
- (void)didReceiveMemoryWarning {
[super didReceiveMemoryWarning];
// Dispose of any resources that can be recreated.
}
- (void) presentLogin {
NSLog(#"Presenting the login screen");
[self.view setBackgroundColor:[UIColor whiteColor]];
self.pass = [[UITextField alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, 0, 0)];
[self.pass setCenter:self.view.center];
[self.view addSubview: self.pass];
[self.pass addTarget:self action:#selector(textFieldDidChange:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventEditingChanged];
if (!UIAccessibilityIsReduceTransparencyEnabled()) {
UIBlurEffect *blurEffect = [UIBlurEffect effectWithStyle:UIBlurEffectStyleDark];
self.blurEffectView = [[UIVisualEffectView alloc] initWithEffect:blurEffect];
self.blurEffectView.frame = self.view.bounds;
self.blurEffectView.autoresizingMask = UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleWidth | UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleHeight;
[self.view insertSubview:self.blurEffectView belowSubview:self.pass];
}
}
- (void) textFieldDidChange: (UITextField *) t {
if ([self.pass.text isEqualToString:[NSString stringWithFormat:#"17"]]) {
[self.blurEffectView removeFromSuperview];
[self.pass removeFromSuperview];
[self enter];
}
NSLog(#"You're changing the text.");
}
- (void) enter {
//to implement in the subclasses individually
}
#end
The subclass (I am just trying to make one so far) is empty except for a definition of "enter" which simply prints out "login successful". The only output I am getting when I run this is:
In the Login viewDidLoad
Presenting the login screen
Nothing shows up on the screen: just white. I assume this is because I am trying to modify the self.view of the subclass, not the superclass, since the subclass is the thing that is actually getting presented. Is there a better way of doing this? Some other design pattern that I am not thinking of? Or is there an easy way to get around this?
Edit: I just realized that the code I was running was slightly different from what I pasted here. I now updated it, but only the blur shows up, not the text field. Also I realized I had the CGRect wrong, it should be something like CGRectMake(0,0,100,20); so I fixed that, and the text field still doesn't show. Is there a reason that might be happening.
Set your height and width and also set your background color to white . for now it is taking transparent text view
self.pass = [[UITextField alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, 0, 0)];
[self.pass setCenter:self.view.center];
[self.pass setBackgroundColor:[UIColor whiteColor]]; // default taking clear color for now

UIScrollView is not scrolling in UiView

when I scroll on UIScrollView that not scrolling . Also I am setting scrollview's contentSize.
When I show one other subView and after when I show my view , it's scrolling.
You can see what is problem on this video . How can I solve this problem?
myViewController.h file
#import <UIKit/UIKit.h>
#interface myViewController : UIViewController
#property(nonatomic,retain)UIView * rightTabView;
#property(nonatomic,retain)UIView * leftTabView;
#property(nonatomic,retain)UIView * middleTabView;
#property(nonatomic,retain)UIScrollView *myscrollview;
#end
myViewController.m file
- (void)viewDidLoad
{
// Do any additional setup after loading the view from its nib.
[super viewDidLoad];
//create Tab views and addSubview
CGFloat barHeight=58;
self.rightTabView=[[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, barHeight+55,self.view.bounds.size.width,self.view.bounds.size.height-barHeight-55)];
[self.view addSubview:self.rightTabView];
self.leftTabView=[[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, barHeight+5,self.view.bounds.size.width,self.view.bounds.size.height-barHeight-55)];
self.leftTabView.backgroundColor=[UIColor redColor];
[self.view addSubview:self.leftTabView];
self.middleTabView=[[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, barHeight+55,self.view.bounds.size.width,self.view.bounds.size.height-barHeight-55)];
[self.view addSubview:self.middleTabView];
//add Subview to leftTabView
myscrollview=[[UIScrollView alloc]initWithFrame:CGRectMake(10, 10,300, 340)];
myscrollview.userInteractionEnabled=YES;
myscrollview.backgroundColor = [UIColor greenColor];
myscrollview.delegate = self;
[self.leftTabView addSubview:myscrollview];
myscrollview.contentSize = CGSizeMake(2000, 2000);
}
It looks like your middleTabView is obscuring your leftTabView (which is the superview of your scrollview). Either bring the leftTabView to the top of the view hierarchy:
[self.leftTabView.superview bringSubViewToFront:self.leftTabView];
or disable user interactions or visibility of your middleTabView (or add the leftTabView last).

What scrollview and imageview settings should be used to display a zoomable picture in iOS?

I am getting some strange behaviour when trying to zoom in on a png in an image view, inside a scroll view. I think I've set the constraints or settings in my utilities pane wrong. What should they be if I want to see the entire picture first and then zoom in on it?
The image renders, but then when I try to pinch zoom in and out, only the height of the picture changes bigger or smaller, with the width stuck at the iPhone screen width. If I fiddle enough however, I can zoom in further, but everything gets distorted and spinney. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
Here's the code I have in the View Controller implementation file now:
#interface ZooViewController ()
#property (weak, nonatomic) IBOutlet UIImageView *imageView;
#property (weak, nonatomic) IBOutlet UIScrollView *scrollView;
#end
#implementation ZooViewController
#synthesize imageView;
#synthesize scrollView;
-(void)viewDidLoad
{
[super viewDidLoad];
[self.imageView setContentMode:UIViewContentModeScaleAspectFit];
self.scrollView.contentSize = self.imageView.image.size;
self.imageView.frame = CGRectMake(0, 0, self.imageView.image.size.width, self.imageView.image.size.height);
}
-(UIView *) viewForZoomingInScrollView:(UIScrollView *)scrollView{
return self.imageView;
}
-(void)didReceiveMemoryWarning
{
[super didReceiveMemoryWarning];
}
-(void)viewDidUnload{
[self setImageView:nil];
[self setScrollView:nil];
[super viewDidUnload];
}
#end
First set image content mode to UIViewContentModeScaleAspectFit
[self.imageView setContentMode:UIViewContentModeScaleAspectFit];
After that set scrollview content size
self.scrollView.contentSize = self.areaImageView.frame.size;
Don't forget to set scrollview delegates
// For supporting zoom,
scrollView.minimumZoomScale = 0.5;
scrollView.maximumZoomScale = 2.0;
...
// Implement a single scroll view delegate method
- (UIView*)viewForZoomingInScrollView:(UIScrollView *)aScrollView {
return imageView;
}

How to add multiple UIViews in a UIScrollView

I have a UIView that draws a pie chart and I would like to put 3 or maybe 4 charts in a UIScrollView programatically. How can I do that?
my h file is like this
#class PieChart;
#interface ViewController : UIViewController {
}
#property (weak, nonatomic) IBOutlet UIScrollView *scrollView;
and m file
- (void)viewDidLoad
{
[super viewDidLoad];
[scrollView setBackgroundColor:[UIColor blackColor]];
[scrollView setCanCancelContentTouches:NO];
scrollView.indicatorStyle = UIScrollViewIndicatorStyleWhite;
scrollView.clipsToBounds = YES;
scrollView.scrollEnabled = YES;
scrollView.pagingEnabled = YES;
PieChart *chart = [[PieChart alloc]initWithFrame:CGRectZero];
[chart setFrame:CGRectMake(100, 100, 200, 200)];
[scrollView addSubview:chart];
}
If you need to add subview to the view you need to use [view addSubview:subview]. This is common practice.
Read about frames and bounds (coordinate systems for view and sub views):
https://developer.apple.com/library/mac/#documentation/Cocoa/Conceptual/CocoaViewsGuide/Coordinates/Coordinates.html
As I understand you have a problem due to content size of scroll view. Read more here:
http://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#DOCUMENTATION/WindowsViews/Conceptual/UIScrollView_pg/Introduction/Introduction.html
Hope it helps.
You can just add it with:
[scrollView addSubview:singleView];
You add multiple subviews to a UIScrollView just like you add a single subview; with addSubview:. What problems are you running into?
