I have a project that looks up distinct orders from the database. It then creates a string of CustomerNumbers from a field in the returned orders. Then it filters the orders based on the CustomerNumbers. The issue is it only ever returns 2 customers when there should be 10. I did return a count of all customers & that also only returns 2 customers. There are a total of 667K+ customers in the database. I tried uninstalling the EF nuget package & reinstalling. I checked to make sure the repositories I have setup aren't filtering anything in anyway. I'm stuck & under the gun right. Any help would be great. Also any refactoring suggestions or EF changes are welcome too. Thanks!

Sorry for not getting more details out, but I did fix the issue. Originally I had issues getting the data into the database using the app(EF). To get around the issue and keep moving forward I used SSMS to import the data. Since I didn't use the app(EF), to import the data the Discriminator column was never filled in with data. Therefore the only two rows that were being returned were the rows with the correct value in the Discriminator column. After running a quick SQL statement to update all the rows with the correct Discriminator value everything is working fine now.

For considerably long period of time I’ve been struggling the following problem. This is an example of data stored in the DB:

and my intention is to select a specific one by using a query like this:
SELECT * FROM flights WHERE type='fil' AND engineId= '2' AND flightId = '1696' AND flightIdx = '0' AND cycleId = '1535' AND cycleIdx = '0'
Such query, however, yields always zero results. Zilch.
Selecting the first (and only) tag works fine:
SELECT * FROM flights WHERE cycleId = '1535'
but using this condition on any other tag, like for example
SELECT * FROM flights WHERE type='fil'
does never return a single row. Querying only the first tag and nothing else works.
Could you please give me a hint what am I doing wrong? From all I have found people are always selecting just by a single tag but never more. What is the part that I cannot see?

I believe I have discovered the reason: two keys from the tags made by mistake their way into the fields. I spotted the trouble when listing the tag and fields keys as
show tag keys
show field keys
Deleting all records does not remove the keys from these lists and the problem persists. One need to drop the entire database to restore the order of things.
I'm migrating a Rails 3.2 app to Rails 5.1 (not before time) and I've hit a problem with a where query.
The code that works on Rails 3.2 looks like this,
sales = SalesActivity.select('DISTINCT batch_id').where('salesperson_id = ?', sales_id)
sales.find_each(batch_size: 2000) do |batchToProcess|

When I run this code under Rails 5.1, it appears to cause the following error when it attempts the for_each,
ArgumentError (Primary key not included in the custom select clause):
I want to end up with an array(?) of unique batch_ids for the given salesperson_id that I can then traverse, as was working with Rails 3.2.
For reasons I don't understand, it looks like I might need to include the whole record to traverse through (my thinking being that I need to include the Primary key)?
I'm trying to rephrase the 'where', and have tried the following,
sales = SalesActivity.where(salesperson_id: sales_id).select(:batch_id).distinct
However, the combined ActiveRecordQuery applies the DISTINCT to both the salesperson_id AND the batch_id - that's #FAIL1
Also, because I'm still using a select (to let distinct know which column I want to be 'distinct') it also still only selects the batch_id column of course, which I am trying to avoid - that's #FAIL2
How can I efficiently pull all unique batch_id records for a given salesperson_id, so I can then for_each them?

May need to change up the ordering of where and pluck, but pluck should return an array of the batch_ids
I would like to get the worklogs list from my Jira without specifing an issue.
Yet I have:
jira = JIRA(basic_auth = ('username', 'password'), server='server_name')
issue = jira.search_issues('key=ISSUE-XXX')[0]
wklog = jira.worklogs(issue)
and I would like to have all the worklogs, i.e. something like:
jira = JIRA(basic_auth = ('username', 'password'), server='server_name')
wklog = jira.worklogs('')

In order to get all the issues' worklogs without specifying one particular issue or project, you have to loop through all the issues.
To do this, you have to execute a search on the system with this query:
all_project_key = jira.search_issues('project is not empty&fields=key')
This will return the first 50 issues key of the system and a number, in the field maxResults, of the total number of issues present.
Taken than number, you can perform others searches adding the to the previous query:
&startAt=50
With this new parameter you will be able to fetch the issues from 51 to 100 (or 50 to 99 if you consider the first issue 0).
The next query will be &startAt=100 and so on until you fetch all the issues in the system.
If you wish to fetch more than 50 issues, add to the query:
&maxResults=200
Once you have finished looping through the system, you will have the list of all the issues where you can loop to retrieve the worklog of that issue.
Unfortunately I don't think you can fetch all the worklogs of all the issues at once.

I have a large XLS file produced from an SQL database for offline review and edit. I'd like to identify/flag just the modified rows to permit the construction of the necessary SQL commands to make the necessary row-level updates back in the database.
I can currently update ALL the rows in a set (changed or not), but performance across our VPN is pretty poor, and sometimes just not feasible. It would be very helpful to consider just the flagged rows.
Any suggestions to begin to address this?
Notes:
The XLS row count can be 5K to 100K (or higher) rows depending on the export query. There are 25 columns per row; format is fixed.

I found a very workable approach.
Simply drop this code into a new module, adjust the the result/column, and presto.
This works with cutting/pasting across many rows:

Creating Silverlight 3.0 application against SQL 2005 database. Using RIA Services and Entity Framework for data access.
I need to be able to populate a grid against a table. However, my grid UI and my table structure is different. Basically my grid needs to turn rows into columns (like a PIVOT table). Here are my challenges / assumptions
I have no idea until runtime which columns I will have on the grid.
Silverlight 3 only supports binding to properties
Silverlight 3 does not allow you to add a row to the grid and manually populate data.
As we all know, Silverlight does not have the System.Data (mainly DataTable) namespace
So, how do I create an object w/ dynamic properties so that I can bind to the grid. Every idea I've had (multi-dimensional arrays, hash tables, etc.) fall apart b/c SL needs a property to bind to, I can't manually add/fill a data row, and I can't figure out a way to add dynamic properties. I've seen an article on a solution involving a linked list but I'm looking for a better alternative. It may come down to making a special "Cody Grid" which will be a bunch of text boxes/labels. Doable for sure but I'll lose some grid functionality that users expect
The ONLY solution I have been able to come up is to create a PIVOT table query in SQL 2005 and use an entity based on that query/view. SQL 2008 would help me with that. I would prefer to do it in Silverlight but if that is the last resort, so be it. If I go the PIVOT route, how do I implement a changing data structure in Entity Framework?

My team came up with a good solution. I'm not sure who deserves the credit but it's somewhere in google land. So far it works pretty good.
Essentially the solution comes down to using reflection to build a dynamic object based on this dynamic data. The function takes in a 2-dimensional array and turns it into a List
object with properties that can be bound. We put this process in a WCF Service and it seems to do exactly what we need so far.

You can dynamically set columns with their associated bindings (ensuring that AutoGenerateColumns is off):
For instance, the name column:

The ObservableCollection you use to store the data that is queried could possibly be overriden to support pivoting, making sure to change the binding of the DataGrid columns, as shown above.
Note: This is a fair amount of hand waving i'm sure (haven't touched silverlight for over a year); but I hope it's enough to formulate another strategy.
if you are working with two dimensional array then adding columns dynamically as shown above will not work.
The problem is with silverlight it cannot understand the binding of columns to a list.
So we have to create list of rows with row convertor that will represent our two dimensional arrays.
