I have successfully got the live video streaming URL from facebook.com using live_videos API. Now i am receiving a URL in the form of RTMP. I don't know how to play that because AVPlayer is unable to do that and i got the library VideoCore which was mentioned somewhere but somehow unable to build that. Anyone have idea?
I have tried https://github.com/jgh-/VideoCore this but unable to compile because of some CocoaPod issue
you can try to use kxmovie!
I hope that would be useful for you!
Comparing to KxMovie, maybe ijkplayer is more suitable for you and it still is developing actively. But KxMovie has more simple code to read. Both are based on FFmpeg. Hope it will help.

I want to upload a video to YouTube using Google's latest library.

Did a lot of searching, but I haven't yet found a complete working example.

I am trying to develop a live-streaming application like the meerkat app, where user A can broadcast a live stream while other users are able to watch it. I am having trouble understanding the architecture and mechanisms used to upload video to a server. Currently, I am using a dedicated server with FFMPEG installed on it. I also know FFServer can be used to perform RTSP communication, but I am still unclear how to do this. Can anyone guide me on this?
I would like to know how to upload videos to a server or whether there is another way to perform a live stream. Open source frameworks are welcome.
for Live streaming video/audio http://www.wowza.com/ give you the best functionality. you have to set up your server in WOWZA also you cant test in that.
for IOS you can broadcast and receive from the below demo you can download from here
i think it's helpful to you :)
Well i was in search of something open source which can be implemented without any additional cost. Luckily found Red5 Server (Open Source) https://github.com/Red5/red5-server
I had configured it on my dedicated server and running perfectly fine. Now as server side issue is solved. I need something thing to work on iOS side. For that also i found https://github.com/slavavdovichenko/MediaLibDemos3x
So with the combination of this two repos i was able to make an live streaming app like meerkut
Thanks
I'm working on a Video recording iOS app and as a final step I need to allow the user to share the video file ( MOV ) with FB, Twitter and YouTube. FB implementation is done. But I'm having difficulty with YouTube and Twitter.
I know that Twitter doesn't have Video share option by default and we have to relay on 3rd part services like Vine or twitpic. So I'm ok to drop Twitter video sharing if its too difficult.
But There should be a easy way with YouTube. I have read http://code.google.com/p/google-api-objectivec-client/ but its seems bit outdated.
So I need any one of your's help on this point. Has anyone done any similar implementation for iOS 6+ ? If so kindly give me a helping hand. Or at least a suggestion to use YouTube API with iOS app.
Really appreciate any help.
Kind Regards
Viraj
The Google objective-c API client that you reference in your question has a sample app for YouTube authentication and file upload. You should be able to just copy and paste most of the code, just using the correct API keys that you obtained in the Google API Console.
I recently open sourced YouTube Direct Lite for iOS.
Here's the upload protocol that I'm using latest resumable uploads.
If you don't want to implement yourself, you can use ESSVideoShare. (Will not work with iOS 7 or higher)
Thanks everyone for answering and comment on this question because that leads me to get the best solution for my problem. Since I was looking for a very simple solution for my problem there was no direct answer to my question.
After searching on Google and trying out possible solutions I think I have found the simplest way of doing this. The resources are
https://github.com/stuffmc/YouTubeSample_iOS
http://hoishing.wordpress.com/2011/08/23/gdata-objective-c-client-setup-in-xcode-4/
Again the code is bit out dated but still work.
Combination of these two and some changed to the Github code to make it ARC enabled I managed to do it.
Its 2 simple files and GData static library.
Thanks everyone!
I recently discovered that the new 'Youtube Capture' app can be used with
UIDocumentInteractionController

Sadly I have been trying to pass a caption using the annotation field without any success.
But if caption is not important, it's worth knowing.

I am using a Phonegap plugin for playing a video in my iOS app. I'm able to play a video with the URL format like http://easyhtml5video.com/images/happyfit2.mp4.
How do I play Youtube videos using the phonegap-videoplayer-plugin?
YouTube Terms of Service: "You agree not to access Content
through any technology or means other than the video playback pages of
the Service itself, the Embeddable Player, or other explicitly
authorized means YouTube may designate."
There are some methods that will give you direct link to youtube videos. Use "gdata" option to find all possible video formats.
Then parse the result to get desired link. Hope this might be useful
But everywhere I found the code to be edited in .m and .h files. None have explained how to use it.
That's because you can only directly use MPMoviePlayerController from native apps (written in Objective-C). For any other technology you'll have to have an intermediary layer in between.
From googling, I found this plugin for PhoneGap that claims to integrate with MPMoviePlayerController. I've no idea if it's any good, but it might do as a starting point.
try to give the youtube url in this format.
http://www.youtube.com/embed/jxXukpxNSx4
You will get the desired result. But Autoplay is not enabled, as Apple stopped supporting autoplay to save user's bandwidth
