Odoo POS ticket, large size with empty spaces - printing

I´m using Odoo v9. I´m facing some problems with the POS module. At the time of printing a ticket every thing is shown properly, but for some reason there is a large empty space, before the content of the ticket an after it, wasting 2/3 of all the space.
I´m just using odoo and an EPSON TV88 printer, i´m not using the posbox. I guest it is a configuration problem, or something.
Any help, thanks in advanced.
Regards

You can remove extra space by reducing size of ticket from .xml file where ypu define template of receipt else you can also manage size from odoo. This located here:
Settings>>Technical>>Reports>>Paper Format
Also here you can create your own format also.

Using OpenElement to open an Attachment with a URL

Trying to open an attachment with this url and it doesn't work. Any idea why?
https://Blah-apps.com/Development/StrongB.nsf/0/(Attach)/0/B3B9D4480BEF667C852588310078E1AE/$File/golf.pdf!%20&OpenElement
Thanks for any ideas
The attachment was originally created on the web and was an embedded object. I then wrote code to move it to a Rich Text Field and that didn't help. The error I get is
HTTP Web Server: Couldn't find design note
This is from a note that I pulled together for HCL some time ago listing the issues we had with Domino 11 having upgraded from 9. This might help although it is not clear what version you are on.
Broken Download links for LZ1 compressed attachments. - CS0313452
After upgrading to FP5 customers found that they could not download some attachments.
We were able to reproduce this issue 100% and provided HCL with a database.

+SPR# GRHEBVYNW7 - Server - DAOS - Fixed an issue where after upgrading to 11.x,
running dbmt -c on DAOS enabled databases results in duplicate DAOS objects being stored.
This regression was introduced in 11.0.
The URL syntax affected is the old style https://<>//<>/<database.nsf>>/<>/$FILE/<>.jpg
whereas the newer “XPage”style syntax works fine
We modified our applications to use the XPages style syntax as a good work around.
This is the XPages url style

Your use of /0/(Attach)/0 looks wrong. Try this format instead: http://host/Database/View/Document/$File/Filename?OpenElement (source: https://help.hcltechsw.com/dom_designer/9.0.1/appdev/H_ABOUT_URL_COMMANDS_FOR_OPENING_IMAGE_FILES_ATTACHMENTS_AND_OLE_OBJECTS.html)

Unicode characters incorrect or missing with Puppeteer within Docker

When I use puppeteer locally and produce a pdf, stock settings and headless, this character
🌐
is drawn correctly on the resulting pdf. When I try to run the same within Docker, the character renders incorrectly. This happens with many unicode chars within Docker, they render incorrectly or not at all.
I've read the posts about this, and it seems like it's a font problem? I have puppeteer running within docker, using node:16 as a base. Is it just that my base image doesn't have enough fonts? I've tried installing chrome and the other suggestions from the puppeteer docker file and related posts, they don't work. Using puppeteer 18.0.2 on node:16.
If it's a font issue, does somebody know how to get fonts installed that will work and produce the characters generally found in the headed browsers? Or is it something else? Ok, just posting this in 2022 since many of the answers from the past are old and outdated. Thanks for any help.
Try using the official Docker image that pre-installs many fonts: https://github.com/puppeteer/puppeteer/blob/main/docker/Dockerfile#L11

QnA Maker Manage knowledge - Problem Adding new URL

I have problems adding a new URL when I manage knowledge base in QnAMaker.
I've tried adding this Url but I get the error:
Failed to extract QnAs from the source "URL" - Unsupported / Invalid url(s). Failed to extract Q&A from the source.
I've tested deleting the footer, publishing the page and in this case the URL works properly.
Also, I tested other very similar URLs, like this one and this has been parsed successfully.
What could be the problem?
It would appear that something with the way the questions are encoded on that page is preventing QnAMaker's services from reading the text of the question/answer pairs. In order to get those questions, I was able to copy paste the whole list:
I put them all into a word doc (or equivalent program), and then saved it as a PDF:
Then uploaded this to QnA Maker, where it was able to read the question/answer pairs just fine.
The reason I used a PDF as opposed to a .txt file is so the alternate characters (the Spanish ? for example) would render as well as the bullets from the final question that caused so much grief for the initial renderer.
After left feedback in azure site, QnA Maker Team fixed it. Now, the url is parsed properly.

Embed PDF in a website, allow user to modify editable fields in PDF, and save back to the server

I am writing a Program in Rub On Rails 4.x and I have to take PDF files with defined fields that can be filled out, fill in data from a form submission(This part is DONE!), and lastly allow the user to modify the saved PDF file on the server and overwrite said PDF after making their modifications.
Like I said I have already gotten the PDF files filled out with what has been submitted in the form through pdftk . What I now need to do is provide a server side editing capability to the said PDF files on server generated from the first step of the process.
I have seen similar posts but none wanting to do the same thing I do. If I am wrong links would be great. Thanks in advance for all your help!
After lots of digging and research here is what I have found to be the facts surrounding this issue and implementing a program to allow embedding the PDF file, editing it, and saving it back to the server. This process would be great however from what I can tell there is nothing out there that really does this for Ruby On Rails. To quote #Nick Veys
Seems like you need to find a Javascript PDF editor you can load your PDF into, allow the user to modify it, and ultimately submit it back to the server. Seems like they exist, here's one for ASP projects
You are correct but still wrong in the sense that yes there is one for ASP projects however that is Microsoft Based, yes I know that it can run on Linux environments through Mono. However to the point it would appear in this instance that a Ruby On Rails specific solution is indeed needed.
The solution that we have come up with is as follows
1. Use a PDF editing package in the linux repositories like PDFtk
2. You then render a page with the PDF embeded on one side and a form representing the live fields in the PDF to take input.
3. Once submitted you use PDFtk to write the values into a new template PDF file and overwrite what was previously stored.
This requires a few additional steps to process the data than I really care for myself. However it is the best solution that our team could come up with, without bleeding the project budget dry for just 1 piece of functionality.
I hope this helps anyone else looking to do the same thing in Ruby On Rails.
I have done something like this using my company's .NET product. It can also be done using its Java version too.

Why does LaTeX not render my gantt-diagram into pdf

is there anybody out there, with experiences about how to do a gantt-diagram / chart using latex.
I tryed it for a lot of hours today, lastly it worked switching outpout from pdf to dvi.
Maybe someone can tell me what to include, besides pst-gantt, and the normal pstricks stuff.
It showed more than 100 errors for 4 Tasks.. after switching to dvi there was a big 0.
i am using the whole distribution mitex .. upgradet to the newest version. stupidly i have the error log not avaible on this computer. but it was always the same error. i was using pst-gantt, outload missing packages.. hm errors will follow tomorrow morning
Reading the pst-gantt README it looks like this depends on the pstricks package. I believe that the "ps" is for postscript and the functionality is implemented by generating DVI "special" commands; which means that you can't produce output pdf directly using pdflatex. You can get to PDF output, but you must go by way of DVI. Either source->DVI->PDF or even source->DVI->PS->PDF.
I came across this question when having trouble with pst-gantt and pdflatex. As others have pointed out you need to go via DVI, which honestly sucks if you have used pdflatex all the time.
So I did some search, and found this phantastic replacement written by Martin Krumm: http://www.martin-kumm.de/tex_gantt_package.php
