I'm new to docker. I just installed it and I have a question about this , it could be duplicated but I can't found a solution by searching all the forums.
Why it's better to use juste one service (apache, PHP, Mysql...) inside one container?
Because the whole point of Docker is to encapsulate a service within a single image, that you then clone to make instances of. You can clone multiple instances and trivially scale out an application - but it's rare that you need to clone every element of the application like that. It's much more useful to be able to widen your web tier, or your database tier separately.
But the major reason is - a container is an instance of an image. If you update your application, you need to build a new image. It's considerably more useful to be able to rebuild and restart subcomponents of the application, for all the reasons it's a nuisance to have to update your server to 'update'.

One of web tools we intend to use requires docker for installation. Due to limitation in resources, however, the only way for us to deploy this tool is on a shared university php webserver with an associated MySQL database. My question is, can you somehow convert or even "compile" this docker-dependent tool to get some simple package, similar, for instance, to Wordpress? Indeed, as per my understanding, Wordpress development does require docker, while the final package for Wordpress installation does not.
Is this operation of docker-removal possible and is there a standardised workflow? The tool in question is located in the following repository.
I have tried to install the tool as is, being blocked by the lack of admin privileges and the absence of docker on the described university webserver. I have experience in setting up Wordpress, I would expect for my tool of interest to have a more sophisticated installation process (compared to the current 3 steps) without docker and, for instance, to also require manual connection to an SQL-database.
Please excuse me for my limited understanding and layman terms, I am sadly not coming from a computer science background.

I ran docker system prune, forgetting about a particular Postgres database whose contents I still wanted. (It also turns out the macOS Docker VM is not backed up by Time Machine, but that's another question.)
What I'd like to know is whether there is a possibility that the volume has been unlinked, but is still intact and recoverable inside the VM, or whether I should resign myself to recreating the database.
Use docker volume ls to find out which volumes remain/exist. If you used docker system prune without --volumes key, it should be there. Creating a postgres container with this volume should bring your database back.

So I have started learning docker, and where better to start than with servers! Anyways, I started out trying to create a minecraft server. I managed to get it working on localhost, but is there any way to make it available to people outside of my own wifi?
You better get an EC2 instance (VPS) from AWS or any cloud provider and run your docker image in it.
The server will be available 24/7 and you keep your machine safe, it's bad to open ports on your computer for the external world.
You can get a free instance on AWS for one year

I have a several instances of my application, like dev stand, test stand, demo stand and several production stands. My application is a cluster of microservices, packaged in docker container and managed by docker-compose. I need an ability to conveniently deploy some versions of application to several stands.
My question is: What tools should i pick for this feature? Ideally i want to have web interface which has one button “Deploy” for one stand and an input field for a version of my application.
We use Teamcity for building applications, and we can use it for continuous delivery, but i am looking for a more convenient and specialized tool.
We're using Octopus Deploy in our CI process for deployments (releases created by TeamCity) and we're really happy with this tool.
Although I'm not much into container/Docker things, but i saw that recently Octopus has implemented some features for Docker deployments so you could check that maybe. ;)

My question is:
I have two applications on a server. Once svn (This service was first installed which is why he has the Prot 80 already occupied.).
And my second application is Mantis, which runs with the Wampserver. (Two applications to run on a port does not work. Huh?)
Now I have both applications as far as on the server configured and you run both without problems (on the server). But I want access from my internal network to the two server through Internet Explorer. However, when I enter the url to the server, but my svn appears. Mantis is not displayed.
Do you know how I can do that?

You should be able to do this by adding the portnumber to the url, something like http://my.intranet.biz:1234
You should know this if you are playing around with ports :)
