We tried to rename a project in Xcode 7 using the standard instructions but it didn't work. After the rename the build option was greyed out. Seems there are additional steps required but I haven't found a list which is up to date as of v7. How can you do the rename in v7?

If the run button is gray, you can edit the scheme. For an easy way you can click product -> manage scheme. Delete the current scheme and then click autocreate scheme now on the top-right corner.

Standard instructions or just softly double tap on project name which is usually on left side and just write the new name. It will pop up a new screen as show in the link shared by you and thats it. Can't really guess why it doesn't work for you as I have just tried a minute back on mine and its v7.

How do I manage building a Lite vs Paid version of an iPhone app?

I have an XCode Project(iOS App for only iPhones) and I want to use same codebase for publishing different application. I have to change icon, name and design for this second application. Therefore, I did not use Localization.
Also in codebase, I need some variables to hold different keywords for different targets.
Is there any way to do it or I have to clone same project and change this files after?
Thanks.

StackOverFlow Question
You will have to convert the code to swift but this gives you the basics to get started.
One workspace, two app targets, one set of code files.
Alternatively, use a framework. In that case it might be one workspace and two complete Xcode projects plus the framework.

How to set language other than English as the development language and Base localization?

I found several topics on this application but none works for me. I would like my Swift3 project in Xcode 8.3.3 to be in French.
1) I added a localization in main page
2) I then change the language in the info.plist file
3) I chose French for my mainStoryBoard
Often I see you need to edit a file but I never have the file mentioned in the tutorial
When I run the simulator I still have the keyboard in English how to change it?
Try this, Change the project language:
You can go to edit schema in project target at the top. And select application language under option tab. Then run the application. It will launch the application in selected language.

Xcode 8 automatic build when any change [duplicate]

Xcode keeps building storyboard after each keystroke

I'm using both Xcode 8.2.1 and when I write anything, even a single space, Xcode builds automatically the entire project, It's very annoying and make my Mac really slow I disabled "Live build" option in General setting, C language to compiler default in build phase but nothing changes. Any one know about it?
You need to disable "Automatically Refresh Views" from the Editor section.
It is happening because, as soon as you type anything, XCode refreshes the views as they might change due to any changes in code.
Follow this link Xcode keeps building storyboard after each keystroke
Did you try to disable Show Live Issues in Preference -> General already?

I have just recently begun learning about app development, although I am quite fluent in Java, C and Fortran. I want to make a simple iOS app that just prompts the user to input their name, and when they hit a button a label says Hi [insert name]. I believe I'm going about this the right way although every time I try to link the label to my viewcontroller.h file it gives me this error. I hav gone through so many forums online with people saying they fixed it by deleting the derived data, restarting, reinstalling and what not. I have tried all of those numerous times. I've even uninstalled and reinstalled xcode twice. I was wondering if there are any other problems that could be causing this?
It looks very similar to this:
Thanks
1. Close your project.
2. Delete the DerivedData folder of you project. (project's folder, or inside
~/Library/Developer/XCode/DerivedData/(your project)/ ) or somewhere
else that were setup by you.
3. restart your project.
Otherwise make sure Have checked the target when you created your
second view controller
Just try that delete your secondviewcontroller and then recreate it.

Root.plist setting.bundle old editor, where is it?

I have searched for the answer and I can not find it. How do I edit the settings.bundle in xcode 4.2?
I have found on this site you change to application.settings but that is not what I was looking for
This is the editor i have in xcode for the Root.plist:
and this is the old editor in xcode I was looking for.with the "+" to the right. Is this possible in xcode 4.2? Or did apple take this out?
Thank you so much, I am about ready to pull my hair out!!
The editor style has changed in Xcode 4. To add a new item, click on any item in the file (at the appropriate level for where you are trying to add it), and click the + that shows up and change the key and type as needed. The old editor with the + on the right is no more.
