make iphone 6 app to fit iphone 4s screen resolution - ios

I have developed an app for iphone 6. It works well on iphone 5 also but on 4s the bottom part is being cut off. Is there any way i can make the app to work for iphone 4s without using autolayouts.
This works well for iphone 6
But not for 4s, below is how it looks. The buttons are not visible.

You can use UIScrollView instead of UIView & add all your inner control to Scroll view.
This will make Buttons visible all the time & Scroll the content.
Second Option, you can use AutoLayout. (which you dont want to use.!!)
Third , You can create a new design for iPhone 4s (if & only if u want the look exactly same as others)
-although, not recommended!!!

iOS: Auto-layout constraints acting strange when designing TableView for iPad

I am trying to have simple custom table view cells with UIImageView and another View with three Labels in it.
I set the constrains to 5 from UIImageView and 0 from all remaining sizes. But as soon as I select bigger iPad in the Xcode designer (like iPad Pro or Pro with 12,9" screen) I suddenly get space on the right side even though the constraints still says "0" when clicked.

Constraint the interface of ios application to look same in all simulator

I make my application in xcode 8. I set my interface design in iphone 5 simulator in main.storyboard. My interface has scroll view and the image button all is put inside the scroll view. I constraint the scroll view and image buttons with reset to suggested constraint. When run in simulator, only iphone 5 look nice but other iphone look no good. I post my output in below, i think it is easy to understand what i want? If know how to do, please tell me. I want my application design look same in all simulator. First picture is iphone 5 and second picture is iphone 7 plus.

I have one label,one image view and one button.As you can click on the link and see the picture now so i tell you that I used my image view as a background and the label is in the middle and the button is in the lower middle so i want that to look same in all the devices. i don't know anything about constraints.I am using Xcode 6

I suggest you to take a look at this youtube tutorial. I learned how to make the constrains by watching it. The tutorial teaches how to make the similar layout as you required.

Autolayout is the tool used to make UI look similar across all devices, you should try to learn it if you want to continue to develop IOS apps. The concepts are pretty basic and are used throughout other languages.
This tutorial is useful if you want to create the auto layout using storyboards.
This tutorial is useful if you are making the view programmatically. I tend to use code for auto layout but it is just a preference, storyboards is fairly simple so I would suggest that. If you are going to do it in code a is to forget setting the autoresizing mask into constraints to false. You have to set this property on all the views you want to use auto layout for.

Select Image ->Pin->Uncheck Constraints to margin-> select top,bottom,left,right.
Button
Select Button-> Pin->Uncheck Constraints to margin->select bottom,left,right,Height.

Select label->Align->Center horizontally and Center Vertically in Container.
Pin->Width,Height.
If it is working for iPhone 5 but not another layout then this is probably happening.
There are demensions in the centre of the lower tab bar of story boards
There are screen size settings in the story board and regular*regular is the only one that is universal to all orientations and sizes of the ios device. if you set constraints while viewing in regular by compact (landscape for 5.5 inch iPhone) then those constraints will only be apply to 5.5 inch iPhones in landscape and if you tried running on a smaller iPod it would be as if you never set the constraints. the constraints for the 5.5 inch iPhone would not apply to the small iPod
if constraints were made in compact by compact and you were viewing the story board in say regular by compact then you would get an error saying that things are misplace and will not appear in the same at runtime. view the storyboard in the same dimensions that you set the constraints and you should not have an issue.
There is an option to simulate the device you want to run on specifically in storyboard and it can be say only 5.5 inch iPhones or something, whatever device.

iOS storyboard layout

I am working on an app and have come into some graphical problems when designing my app.
First off, my app is only support by iPhone. My current storyboard is using the iPhone 5 as the screen size, so everything screws up when I try to run in iPhone 4 and 4S. Is there a way to make multiple storyboards for each different screen size? Or do you all have another solution?

There is a way to make different storyboards for separate screen sizes, but another way to do it is like this:
Whenever you add objects to your views, be sure to have them aligned to something (using constraints). If all items are relative to other items, then most likely the layout will be fine on all devices. Also, if you find that your controls start overlapping, then perhaps you ran out of room. In that case simply add a scroll view to your layout, and then put the controls on top of it. Then, it won't scroll on the larger screens because all controls are shown, but on smaller devices it will allow you to scroll down to see the rest of the objects.

There is a small button in the lower right hand corner that lets you toggle between 3.5" and 4" screen sizes so you can see how it will look on different devices. By using Auto Layout introduced in iOS 6 you can make sure to set up your constraints so that your UI looks good on both older and newer iPhones.

How to make controls in view not overlap if built by Interface Builder for Xcode 4.5 and iPhone 5?

I am using Xcode 4.5 and iPhone 4 and 5 simulator, and the Interface Builder would add a UIButton in the top half of the screen with a top constraint, and add a UIButton in the bottom half of the screen with a bottom constraint.
It works fine on an iPhone 5 simulator, but on the iPhone 4 simulator, the buttons can overlap, or the bottom button may even get positioned above the top button.
I think it is due to the constraint, such as the bottom button "must be 250 points away from the bottom margin". I can't delete the constraint, and if I change it to "250 points or less", it won't work, if I change it to "250 points or more", it won't work either.
Is there a way to:
1) Make it have no constraint, but just position at absolute x and y? (or what about the spring in the past, so that everything is more spaced out in iPhone 5?)
2) Make the NIB into a one for iPhone 4 and 4S only, so that the app works well on iPhone 4 and 4S and just "black barred" on the iPhone 5.
3) Make it work well on iPhone 5 and work well on iPhone 4 as well?
If you know solutions to only (1), (2), or (3), above, please give it regardless, as it is still a viable solution for the transition period.
It is actually very easy to reproduce: Create a simple Single View app using Xcode 4.5, and drag one button just above the center point of the screen, and another one just below the center point of the screen. Then run it on the Simulator. On iPhone 5, it is:
And now stop the app, and change the Device in the Simulator to iPhone 4S (3.5 inch Retina). If you don't stop the app first, the Simulator can crash. Now run the app again, and the buttons will overlap:
I had the same problem, and it was due to a wrong settings for autosizing. To change the autosizing, click on the control in the interface builder, go to the size inspector.
Notice the bold red I's in the autosizing grid, they control placement when the screen is resized (like when going from iPhone 3GS to iPhone 5.
I think it will work best for you if you make your autosizing look like this:
I'm not sure, since I haven't used constraint-based layout (and won't until we drop support for iOS 5). Traditional NIB-based autoresizing will do absolute coordinates.
You can't do that for just one screen, as far as I know — you can disable it for your whole app by removing Default-568h#2x.png.
I'd go for programmatic layout, or if you want the easy way (which will be a pain to maintain), different nibs for different screen sizes. Note that you'll want to correctly handle the in-call status bar too...
EDIT: Put the two buttons in a container view and make the constraint center the container inside its parent? It won't adjust the spacing between buttons, but should look okay on both devices.
Select your buttons and add "vertical spacing" constraint for them. And set "less than" for top/bottom margins.
