how to add objects in NSMUtableArray using for loop - ios

Hi i am beginner in ios in my project i have implemented horizontal TableList
ok everything is fine and i could able to create horizontal TableList loading static data
but i want load data now from array list for this i have tried below code but it showing exception [__NSArrayI objectAtIndex:]: index 5 beyond bounds [0 .. 4]' and when i add objects as like paidList array there is no errors coming but when i use for loop for inserting objects it's showing exceptions
please help me what did i do here wrong?
my code:-
#import "ViewController.h"
#interface ViewController ()
{
NSArray * images;
NSArray * titles;
}
#end
#implementation ViewController
-(id)initWithNibName:(NSString *)nibNameOrNil bundle:(NSBundle *)nibBundleOrNil {
self = [super initWithNibName:nibNameOrNil bundle:nibBundleOrNil];
if (self) {
images = [[NSArray alloc]initWithObjects:#"5_64x64.png",#"6_64x64.png",#"7_64x64.png",#"8_64x64.png",#"9_64x64.png",nil];
titles = [[NSArray alloc]initWithObjects:#"Weather",#"Weather",#"E-Trade",#"Voice Recorder",#"News Reader", nil];
freeList =[[NSMutableArray alloc]init];
for (int i = 0; images.count; ++i) {
ListItem *item = [[ListItem alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectZero image:[UIImage imageNamed:[images objectAtIndex:i]] text:[titles objectAtIndex:i]];
[freeList addObject:item];
}
NSLog(#"free list is %#",freeList);
ListItem *item6 = [[ListItem alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectZero image:[UIImage imageNamed:#"10_64x64.png"] text:#"Game Pack"];
ListItem *item7 = [[ListItem alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectZero image:[UIImage imageNamed:#"11_64x64.png"] text:#"Movies"];
ListItem *item8 = [[ListItem alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectZero image:[UIImage imageNamed:#"12_64x64.png"] text:#"Forecast"];
ListItem *item9 = [[ListItem alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectZero image:[UIImage imageNamed:#"10_64x64.png"] text:#"Game Pack"];
ListItem *item10 = [[ListItem alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectZero image:[UIImage imageNamed:#"10_64x64.png"] text:#"Game Pack"];
paidList = [[NSMutableArray alloc] initWithObjects: item6, item7, item8, item9, item10, nil];
}
return self;
}
- (void)viewDidLoad
{
[super viewDidLoad];
// Do any additional setup after loading the view, typically from a nib.
}
- (void)didReceiveMemoryWarning
{
[super didReceiveMemoryWarning];
// Dispose of any resources that can be recreated.
}
- (int)numberOfSectionsInTableView:(UITableView *)tableView {
return 1;
}
- (int)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView numberOfRowsInSection:(NSInteger)section {
return 2;
}
- (CGFloat)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView heightForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath {
return 155.0;
}
- (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath {
static NSString *cellIdentifier = #"cell";
UITableViewCell *cell = [self.tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:cellIdentifier];
if (cell == nil) {
cell = [[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleDefault reuseIdentifier:cellIdentifier];
}
NSString *title = #"";
POHorizontalList *list;
if ([indexPath row] == 0) {
title = #"Top Free";
list = [[POHorizontalList alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0.0, 0.0, 320.0, 155.0) title:title items:freeList];
}
else if ([indexPath row] == 1) {
title = #"Top Paid";
list = [[POHorizontalList alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0.0, 0.0, 320.0, 155.0) title:title items:paidList];
}
[list setDelegate:self];
[cell.contentView addSubview:list];
return cell;
}

Your for loop condition is wrong.
for (int i = 0; images.count; ++i)
it should be
for (int i = 0; i < images.count; i++)

Why does my app crash when UISearchBar's textDidChange is called?

I have a UITableView which shows all of the songs in the Music Library, which works fine. However, when I start typing in the search bar to narrow down the search results, the app crashes immediately. Like as soon as I press one letter on the keyboard, it crashes. I've tried reworking my textDidChange: method but it always crashes, no matter what. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, could anyone help? Thanks.
Header:
#interface PTTableViewController : UIViewController <UITableViewDelegate, UITableViewDataSource, UISearchBarDelegate>
#property (strong,nonatomic)UITableView* tableView;
#property (strong,nonatomic)UISearchBar* searchBar;

#implementation PTTableViewController

NSLog(#"string not found");
} else {
NSLog(#"string found");
[filteredArray addObject:object];
}
}
} [self.tableView reloadData];
}
#end
First...
You're getting a crash because you do this:
filteredArray = [songTitlesArray copy];
Which assigns a non-mutable copy of songTitlesArray to filteredArray.
When you then try to do this:
[filteredArray removeAllObjects];
you're trying to mutate a non-mutable object.
You can fix this (first) problem in a couple ways...
One way is to change all instances of copy to mutableCopy:
filteredArray = [songTitlesArray mutableCopy];
However, using your exact code, you'll introduce new crashes because you'll be executing UI actions on a background thread.
Next... Are you sure you're getting "keyboard lag"?
You may want to change a few things:
make _filteredArray non-mutable
instead of calling removeAllObjects simply re-create the array
use filteredArrayUsingPredicate instead of looping through and comparing each string
Give this a try - because I don't have your MPMediaQuery I'll generate 500 strings as "song titles":
#interface PTTableViewController : UIViewController <UITableViewDelegate, UITableViewDataSource, UISearchBarDelegate>
#property (strong,nonatomic)UITableView* tableView;
#property (strong,nonatomic)UISearchBar* searchBar;
#end
#implementation PTTableViewController
//MPMediaQuery *songsQuery;
NSArray *songsArray;
NSArray *filteredArray;
NSMutableArray *songTitlesArray;
-(void)viewDidLoad{
[super viewDidLoad];
self.tableView = [[UITableView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0,0,[UIScreen mainScreen].bounds.size.width - 75,150) style:UITableViewStylePlain];
self.tableView.dataSource = self;
self.tableView.delegate = self;
[self.view addSubview:_tableView];
self.searchBar = [[UISearchBar alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0,0,320,44)];
self.searchBar.delegate = self;
self.searchBar.placeholder = #"Search";
self.tableView.tableHeaderView = self.searchBar;
// songsQuery = [MPMediaQuery songsQuery];
// songsArray = [songsQuery items];
//
// songTitlesArray = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init];
// for (MPMediaItem *item in songsArray) {
// [songTitlesArray addObject:[item valueForProperty:MPMediaItemPropertyTitle]];
// }
// filteredArray = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init];
// filteredArray = [songTitlesArray copy];
// I don't have your Query, so let's create a 500 element string array,
// using the row number + one of the following words in each entry
NSString *samples = #"These are some random words for the song titles.";
// So, we'll have:
// "Row: 0 These"
// "Row: 1 are"
// "Row: 2 some"
// "Row: 3 random"
// "Row: 4 words"
// "Row: 5 for"
// "Row: 6 the"
// "Row: 7 song"
// "Row: 8 titles."
// "Row: 9 These"
// "Row: 10 are"
// "Row: 11 some"
// "Row: 12 random"
// "Row: 13 words"
// "Row: 14 for"
// ... etc
NSArray *a = [samples componentsSeparatedByString:#" "];
songTitlesArray = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init];
for (int i = 0; i < 500; i++) {
NSString *w = a[i % [a count]];
NSString *s = [NSString stringWithFormat:#"Row: %d %#", i, w];
[songTitlesArray addObject:s];
}
filteredArray = [songTitlesArray copy];
}
-(NSInteger)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView numberOfRowsInSection:(NSInteger)section{
return filteredArray.count;
}
-(UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath{
UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:#"cell"];
if (cell == nil){
cell = [[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleDefault reuseIdentifier:#"cell"];
}
cell.textLabel.text = [filteredArray objectAtIndex:indexPath.row];
return cell;
}
- (void)searchBar:(UISearchBar *)searchBar textDidChange:(NSString *)searchText{
[self helper];
}
-(void)helper{
if ([self.searchBar.text isEqualToString:#""]){
filteredArray = [songTitlesArray copy];
} else {
NSString *w = [NSString stringWithFormat:#"SELF contains[c] '%#'", self.searchBar.text];
NSPredicate *sPredicate = [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:w];
filteredArray = [songTitlesArray filteredArrayUsingPredicate:sPredicate];
}
[self.tableView reloadData];
}
#end
As a side note, you've done a nice job of demonstrating one of the (many) reasons NOT to try and develop on a jailbroken device.

UITableView - switch data from two arrays

I'm working on an application in which I have a UITableView, two arrays and one UISegmentedControl. Now I need to when the UISegmentedControl value is 0 loaded in the UITableView data from the array one, and when UISegmentedControl has value 1 loaded data from array two. Simply, I need to switch the data to be loaded into UITableView from arrays. I tried to use a bool, but it does not work, I also think that it's not ideal.
Here is my code:
- (void)viewDidLoad
{
[super viewDidLoad];
allTableData = [[NSMutableArray alloc] initWithObjects:
[[Food alloc] initWithName:#"BWM" andDescription:#"Auto" andDefinice:#"Osobni"],nil ];
allTableData2 = [[NSMutableArray alloc] initWithObjects:
[[Food alloc] initWithName:#"Renault" andDescription:#"Dodavka" andDefinice:#"Velka"],nil ];
}
- (NSInteger)numberOfSectionsInTableView:(UITableView *)tableView
{
return 1;
}
- (NSInteger)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView numberOfRowsInSection:(NSInteger)section
{
long rowCount;
if(self.isSwich == false)
rowCount = allTableData.count;
else
rowCount = allTableData2.count;
return rowCount;
}
- (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath
{
static NSString *CellIdentifier = #"Cell";
UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CellIdentifier];
if (cell == nil)
cell = [[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleSubtitle reuseIdentifier:CellIdentifier];
Food* food;
if(self.isSwitch == false)
{
food = [allTableData objectAtIndex:indexPath.row];
}
else
{
food = [allTableData2 objectAtIndex:indexPath.row];
}
cell.textLabel.text = food.name;
cell.detailTextLabel.text = food.description;
return cell;
}
-(IBAction)switchdata:(id)sender
{
if(self.myswitcher.selectedSegmentIndex == 0)
{
isSwitch = FALSE;
}
else
{
isSwitch = TRUE;
}
}
You are missing a call to reloadData in the witchdata: implementation. Adding this call will fix the problem.
I also think that it's not ideal.
That's right. Rather than storing a flag that says which array to use for your data source, store the array itself. This would eliminate all the ifs on the isSwitch property:
// Declare this as an instance variable, and use it
// in your data source methods.
NSArray *theSource;
- (void)viewDidLoad {
[super viewDidLoad];
allTableData = [[NSMutableArray alloc] initWithObjects:
[[Food alloc] initWithName:#"BWM" andDescription:#"Auto" andDefinice:#"Osobni"],nil ];
allTableData2 = [[NSMutableArray alloc] initWithObjects:
[[Food alloc] initWithName:#"Renault" andDescription:#"Dodavka" andDefinice:#"Velka"], nil];
theSource = allTableData;
}
-(IBAction)switchdata:(id)sender {
if(self.myswitcher.selectedSegmentIndex == 0) {
theSource = allTableData;
} else {
theSource = allTableData2;
}
[myTable reloadData];
}
Alternatively you could make isSwitch an integer, and use it as an index into an array that has your allTableData at index zero and allTableData2 at index one:
NSArray *sources;
int sourceIndex;
// Use sources[sourceIndex] as the current source
- (void)viewDidLoad {
[super viewDidLoad];
allTableData = [[NSMutableArray alloc] initWithObjects:
[[Food alloc] initWithName:#"BWM" andDescription:#"Auto" andDefinice:#"Osobni"], nil];
allTableData2 = [[NSMutableArray alloc] initWithObjects:
[[Food alloc] initWithName:#"Renault" andDescription:#"Dodavka" andDefinice:#"Velka"],nil ];
sources = #[allTableData, allTableData2];
sourceIndex = 0;
}
-(IBAction)switchdata:(id)sender {
sourceIndex = self.myswitcher.selectedSegmentIndex;
[myTable reloadData];
}
Firstly, in your switchData: method - use self.switch to access its setters,getters.
Secondly, Rather than using a bool value to track segment value, use the direct segment value.
Replace your self.switch value with self.switcher.selectedSegmentIndex in the table view delegate,datasource methods.
Finally, reload table view in your switchData: method.

TableView Navigation using JSON (database data)

Good afternoon,
I used the following tutorial to create a TableView Navigation: http://www.techotopia.com/index.php/Implementing_TableView_Navigation_using_Xcode_Storyboards but with that example I can show static information.
Now I need to display images and texts from my database and I need some help to do that.
At the moment, that's my CarTableViewController.m
#import "CarTableViewController.h"
#import "CarTableViewCell.h"
#import "CarTableViewController.h"
#import "CarDetailViewController.h"
#implementation CarTableViewController
#synthesize carMakes = _carMakes;
#synthesize carModels = _carModels;
#synthesize carImages = _carImages;
- (void)viewDidLoad
{
[super viewDidLoad];
self.carMakes = [[NSArray alloc]
initWithObjects:#"Chevy",
#"BMW",
#"Toyota",
#"Volvo",
#"Smart", nil];
self.carModels = [[NSArray alloc]
initWithObjects:#"Volt",
#"Mini",
#"Venza",
#"S60",
#"Fortwo", nil];
self.carImages = [[NSArray alloc]
initWithObjects:#"chevy_volt.jpg",
#"mini_clubman.jpg",
#"toyota_venza.jpg",
#"volvo_s60.jpg",
#"smart_fortwo.jpg", nil];
}
- (NSInteger)numberOfSectionsInTableView:(UITableView *)tableView
{
// Return the number of sections.
return 1;
}
- (NSInteger)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView numberOfRowsInSection:(NSInteger)section
{
// Return the number of rows in the section.
return [self.carModels count];
}
- (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath
{
static NSString *CellIdentifier = #"carTableCell";
CarTableViewCell *cell = [tableView
dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CellIdentifier];
if (cell == nil) {
cell = [[CarTableViewCell alloc]
initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleDefault
reuseIdentifier:CellIdentifier];
}
// Configure the cell...
cell.makeLabel.text = [self.carMakes
objectAtIndex: [indexPath row]];
cell.modelLabel.text = [self.carModels
objectAtIndex:[indexPath row]];
UIImage *carPhoto = [UIImage imageNamed:
[self.carImages objectAtIndex: [indexPath row]]];
cell.carImage.image = carPhoto;
return cell;
}
-(void)prepareForSegue:(UIStoryboardSegue *)segue sender:(id)sender
{
if ([[segue identifier] isEqualToString:#"ShowCarDetails"])
{
CarDetailViewController *detailViewController =
[segue destinationViewController];
NSIndexPath *myIndexPath = [self.tableView
indexPathForSelectedRow];
detailViewController.carDetailModel = [[NSArray alloc]
initWithObjects: [self.carMakes
objectAtIndex:[myIndexPath row]],
[self.carModels objectAtIndex:[myIndexPath row]],
[self.carImages objectAtIndex:[myIndexPath row]],
nil];
}
}
#end
I need to put the information from my database (author, date and picture) to carMakes, carModels and carImages to display it. I can get the values from my PHP file with JSON, but I need some help with the NSArray with JSON result because I never used it.
How can I do that?
That's my JSON result:
[{"id":"15","user":"1","image":"http:\/\/farmaventas.es\/images\/farmaventaslogo.png","date":"2014-09-13"}]
Thanks in advance.
NSMutableArray* dataSource = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init];
NSMutableDictionary* chevyVolt = [[NSMutableDictionary alloc] init];
chevyVolt[#"Make"] = #"Chevy";
chevyVolt[#"Model"] = #"Volt";
chevyVolt[#"Image"] = #"chevy_volt.jpg";
dataSource[0] = chevyVolt;
NSMutableDictionary* clubman = [[NSMutableDictionary alloc] init];
-- etc --
Inside cellForRow--
NSMutableDictionary* cellData = dataSource[[indexPath row]];
cell.makeLabel.text = cellData[#"Make"];
cell.modelLabel.text = cellData[#"Model"];
-- etc --
When you receive your JSON data, you have to decide what row it pertains to. If you somehow know that id 15 is for a Chevy Volt, you then presumably copy info out of the corresponding JSON element into the dictionary for the Chevy Volt. (Or, if you wait to receive the JSON to add the Chevy Volt row (seems more likely), you construct the dictionary for the Volt as above and add it to the end of the dataSource array, with the added info from the JSON.)

Problems in setting imageview on a selected cell in tableview in ios

I am having an app in which I am showing some data in my tableview as shown in the ScreenShot1 below.
Screenshot1.
Now I am having an imageview On my each tableview cell.
If I select any of the cell from tableview, I want an image on that selected cell as shown in screenshot2 below.
Screenshot2.
Now If I select any other cell form tableview. I want to set my imageview's image only on those selected cells as shown in Screenshot3 below.
Below is the code I am doing.
- (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath
{
static NSString *CellIdentifier = #"Cell";
UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CellIdentifier];
cell = [[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleDefault reuseIdentifier:CellIdentifier];
if (cell == nil) {
cell = [[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleDefault reuseIdentifier:CellIdentifier];
}
lblRecipe = [[UILabel alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(50, 5, 600, 32)];
lblRecipe.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor];
lblRecipe.font = [UIFont systemFontOfSize:20.0f];
[cell.contentView addSubview:lblRecipe];
checkedimg=[[UIImageView alloc]initWithFrame:CGRectMake(40, 20, 500, 5)];
[cell.contentView addSubview:checkedimg];
lblRecipe.text = [array objectAtIndex:indexPath.row];
return cell;
}
On Tableview's didselect method, what should i keep to have this kind of a functionality?
I searched a lot and there are lots of questions for this but couldn't find one for this.
So Please help me on this.
Thanks in advance.
You may be better off just subclassing UITableViewCell, as this would let you change the way the cells draw, and add a property or something of the sort to indicate this state.
To create the subclass, create a new file in Xcode, and select UITableViewCell as its superclass.
Then, within that subclass, you could implement a method called setStrikeThrough: like this that you can call on the cell you dequeue from the table:
- (void) setStrikeThrough:(BOOL) striked {
if(striked) {
// create image view here and display, if it doesn't exist
} else {
// hide image view
}
}
Then, in the view controller that holds the table, you'd call this in viewDidLoad to register your subclass with the table view:
[_tableView registerClass:[YourAmazingTableCell class] forCellReuseIdentifier:#"AmazingCellSubclass"];
You would then alter your tableView:cellForRowAtIndexPath: to be something like this:
- (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath {
static NSString *CellIdentifier = #"AmazingCellSubclass";
YourAmazingTableCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CellIdentifier];
if (cell == nil) {
cell = [[YourAmazingTableCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleDefault reuseIdentifier:CellIdentifier];
}
// here you would look up if this row should be selected
[cell setStrikeThrough:YES];
// Set up the remainder of the cell, again based on the row
cell.textLabel.text = #"chilli";
return cell;
}
Try this,
Add a NSMutableArray checkedCellArray, as property and alloc init.
- (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath
{
static NSString *CellIdentifier = #"Cell";
UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CellIdentifier];
cell = [[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleDefault reuseIdentifier:CellIdentifier];
if (cell == nil) {
cell = [[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleDefault reuseIdentifier:CellIdentifier];
UILabel *labelRecipe = [[UILabel alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(50, 5, 600, 32)];
labelRecipe.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor];
labelRecipe.font = [UIFont systemFontOfSize:20.0f];
labelRecipe.tag = kRecipeTag;//a tag to label
[cell.contentView addSubview:labelRecipe];
UIImageView *checkedimg = [[UIImageView alloc]initWithFrame:CGRectMake(40, 20, 500, 5)];
[checkedimg setImage:[UIImage imageNamed:#"checked.png"];
checkedimg.tag = kCheckedImageTag;//a tag to imageView
[cell.contentView addSubview:checkedimg];
checkedimg.hidden = YES;
}
UILabel *labelRecipe = (UILabel *)[cell.contentView viewWithTag:kRecipeTag];
UIImageView *checkedimg = (UIImageView *)[cell.contentView viewWithTag:kCheckedImageTag];
if ([self.checkedCellArray containsObject:indexPath]) {
checkedimg.hidden = NO;
} else {
checkedimg.hidden = YES;
}
labelRecipe.text = [array objectAtIndex:indexPath.row];
return cell;
}
and in didSelectRowAtIndexPath:
- (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath {
if (![self.checkedCellArray containsObject:indexPath]) {
[self.checkedCellArray addObject:indexPath];
}
NSArray* rowsToReload = [NSArray arrayWithObjects:indexPath, nil];
[UITableView reloadRowsAtIndexPaths:rowsToReload withRowAnimation:UITableViewRowAnimationNone];
}
Oky hear you can do like this
just subclass the tableview cell
in CustomCell.h file
#import <UIKit/UIKit.h>
#interface CustomCell : UITableViewCell
#property (nonatomic,retain)UIImageView *dashImageView; //add a property of image view
#end
in CustomCell.m file
#import "CustomCell.h"
#implementation CustomCell
{
BOOL isCellSelected; //add this to check
}
#synthesize dashImageView = _dashImageView; //synthesize it
- (id)initWithStyle:(UITableViewCellStyle)style reuseIdentifier:(NSString *)reuseIdentifier
{
self = [super initWithStyle:style reuseIdentifier:reuseIdentifier];
if (self) {
// Initialization code
isCellSelected = NO;//initially set it no
_dashImageView = [[UIImageView alloc]initWithFrame:CGRectMake(self.bounds.origin.x + 15, self.bounds.origin.y + 10, self.bounds.size.width, 15.0f)];
_dashImageView.backgroundColor = [UIColor redColor];
_dashImageView.tag = 12345;
_dashImageView.hidden = YES;
[self.contentView addSubview:_dashImageView];
}
return self;
}
- (void)setSelected:(BOOL)selected animated:(BOOL)animated
{
[super setSelected:selected animated:animated];
if(selected)
{
UIImageView *dashImageVIew = (UIImageView *)[self viewWithTag:12345];
if(dashImageVIew)
{
if(!isCellSelected)
{
dashImageVIew.hidden = NO;
isCellSelected = YES;
}
else
{
dashImageVIew.hidden = YES;
isCellSelected = NO;
}
}
}
}
EDIT:2 *For selecting both section and row for the table view*
there is no change in the custom cell only change in the controller so that u hav to reflect what changes that u made to tableview cell i.e weather u select or deselect
since u want select section along with the selected row.(your requirement) there are various way to do that, but i go by using some model object which contains index section and row.
for that u need to create a subclass of NSObject and name it as MySelectedIndex then in
in MySelectedIndex.h file
#import <Foundation/Foundation.h>
#interface MySelectedIndex : NSObject<NSCoding>//to store and retrieve data like user defaults, for non-property list objects, confirms to NSCoding protocol
#property (nonatomic,retain) NSNumber *selectedRow;
#property (nonatomic,retain) NSNumber *selectedSection;
- (id)initWithSelectedRow:(NSNumber *)selRow andSelectedIndex:(NSNumber *)selSection;
#end
in MySelectedIndex.m file
#import "MySelectedIndex.h"
#implementation MySelectedIndex
#synthesize selectedSection = _selectedSection;
#synthesize selectedRow = _selectedRow;
- (id)initWithSelectedRow:(NSNumber *)selRow andSelectedIndex:(NSNumber *)selSection
{
self = [super init];
if(self)
{
_selectedRow = selRow;
_selectedSection = selSection;
}
return self;
}
- (void)encodeWithCoder:(NSCoder *)aCoder
{
[aCoder encodeObject:_selectedRow forKey:#"ROW"];
[aCoder encodeObject:_selectedSection forKey:#"SECTION"];
}
-(id)initWithCoder:(NSCoder *)aDecoder
{
self = [super init];
if(self)
{
_selectedRow = [aDecoder decodeObjectForKey:#"ROW"];
_selectedSection = [aDecoder decodeObjectForKey:#"SECTION"];
}
return self;
}
#end
now get back to controller where u are using the table
in .m file
import it #import "CustomCell.h"
and in the method
in viewController.m
#interface SampleViewController ()<UITableViewDataSource,UITableViewDelegate>
{
NSMutableArray *indexes;//to store in defaults
NSMutableArray *indexesRed;//to red from the defaults
}
- (void)viewDidLoad
{
[super viewDidLoad];
// Do any additional setup after loading the view from its nib.
//...other stuff's
indexes = [[NSMutableArray alloc]init];//initilise your arrays
indexesRed = [[NSMutableArray alloc]init];
//after initilizing your array
NSData *data = [[NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults] objectForKey:#"SELECTED_CELLL"];
if(data != nil)
{
indexes = [NSKeyedUnarchiver unarchiveObjectWithData:data];
[indexes retain];//you hav to retain the objects other wise u will get crash, make sure u will release it by proper memory mabagement (if u are not using ARC)
}
}
as u said u are using buttons to pop this viewcontroller so already u know where to place so put this in all the action methods(just replace where u are saving to user defaults )
and also read the comments that i put in the code
//put all these codes where u poping this viewcontroller
NSData *data = [NSKeyedArchiver archivedDataWithRootObject:indexes];
[[NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults] setObject:data forKey:#"SELECTED_CELLL"];
[[NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults] synchronize];
[self.navigationController popViewControllerAnimated:YES];
replace the cellForRowAtIndexPath by following code (i added in the below method)
- (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:( NSIndexPath *)indexPath
{
CustomTabedCell *Cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:#"CELL"];
if(Cell == nil)
{
Cell = [[CustomTabedCell alloc]initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleDefault reuseIdentifier:#"CELL"];
}
Cell.textLabel.text = #"Apple";
NSNumber *rowNum = [NSNumber numberWithInt:indexPath.row];
NSNumber *secNum = [NSNumber numberWithInt:indexPath.section];
__block BOOL isImageHidden = YES;
[indexes enumerateObjectsUsingBlock:^(MySelectedIndex *obj, NSUInteger idx, BOOL *stop)
{
if(obj.selectedRow == rowNum && obj.selectedSection == secNum)
{

Filtering a TableView with sections

I try to make a little program to learn more about searching a tableview about a searchbar. Meanwhile i'm in the third week trying to do this. I found many examples in different ways in the internet. The most with a searchdisplaycontroller but this way is only for a viewcontroller. i prefer a way that also works with an uiview and so i use the searchbar delegatemethod to filter my data dictionary. Normally i try as long i get handle such things by myself. But this is my nemesis. I really can't find a way to get this problem solved. Can anyone help me with my code?
Here it is.
#import "FilterDemoTableViewController.h"
#implementation FilterDemoTableViewController
#synthesize filteredTableData;
#synthesize searchBar;
#synthesize isFiltered;
#synthesize tableContents;
#synthesize Keys;
- (void)viewDidLoad
{
[super viewDidLoad];
searchBar.delegate = (id)self;
//-----------------------My TableView Data ------------------------------
NSArray *array1 = [[NSArray alloc]initWithObjects:#"Berlin",#"München",#"Stuttgart",nil];
NSArray *array2 = [[NSArray alloc]initWithObjects:#"Paris",#"Bordeaux",#"Marseille",#"Toulouse",nil];
NSArray *array3 = [[NSArray alloc]initWithObjects:#"London",#"Portsmouth",#"Oxford",#"York",#"Dover",nil];
NSArray *array4 = [[NSArray alloc]initWithObjects:#"Rom" ,#"Genua",#"Mailand",#"Florenz",nil];
NSArray *array5 = [[NSArray alloc]initWithObjects:#"Madrid",#"Barcelona",#"Toledo",#"Saragossa",#"Pamplona",nil];
NSDictionary *dictionary =[[NSDictionary alloc]initWithObjectsAndKeys:array1,#"Deutschland",array2,#"Frankreich",array3,#"Großbritannien",array4,#"Italien",array5,#"Spanien",nil];
self.tableContents = dictionary;
self.Keys = [self.tableContents allKeys];
//--------------------------------------------------------------------------
}
- (NSInteger)numberOfSectionsInTableView:(UITableView *)tableView
{
if (self.isFiltered) {
return [filteredTableData count];
} else {
return [Keys count];}
}
- (NSInteger)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView numberOfRowsInSection:(NSInteger)section
{
NSArray *listData =[self.tableContents objectForKey:[self.Keys objectAtIndex:section]];
int rowCount;
if(self.isFiltered)
rowCount = filteredTableData.count;
else
rowCount = [listData count];
return rowCount;
}
- (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath
{
static NSString *CellIdentifier = #"Cell";
UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CellIdentifier];
if (cell == nil)
cell = [[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleSubtitle reuseIdentifier:CellIdentifier];
NSDictionary* sectionDictionary;
if (isFiltered) {
sectionDictionary = [filteredTableData objectAtIndex:indexPath.section];
} else {
sectionDictionary = [self.tableContents objectForKey:[self.Keys objectAtIndex:indexPath.section]];
}
NSArray* sectionEntries = [self.tableContents objectForKey:[self.Keys objectAtIndex:indexPath.section]];
cell.textLabel.text = [sectionEntries objectAtIndex:indexPath.row];
cell.accessoryType = UITableViewCellAccessoryDisclosureIndicator;
return cell;
}
-(void)searchBar:(UISearchBar*)searchBar textDidChange:(NSString*)text
{
if(text.length == 0)
{
isFiltered = FALSE;
}
else
{
//I think here is something wrong but i don't know what
isFiltered = true;
filteredTableData = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init];
NSMutableArray *searchArray = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init];
for (NSDictionary *dictionary in tableContents) //dictionary read
{
NSArray *array = [dictionary objectForKey:Keys]; //section of dictionary read
[searchArray addObjectsFromArray:array];
}
for (NSString *sTemp in searchArray)
{
NSRange titleResultsRange = [sTemp rangeOfString:text options:NSCaseInsensitiveSearch];
if (titleResultsRange.length != 0)
[filteredTableData addObject:sTemp];
}
}
[self.tableView reloadData];
}
- (void)viewDidUnload{
[self setSearchBar:nil];
[super viewDidUnload];
}
- (BOOL)shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)interfaceOrientation
{
// Return YES for supported orientations
return (interfaceOrientation == UIInterfaceOrientationPortrait);
}
#end
Now i post a complete refreshed code. I tested each component of the code step by step. It works and the search is also fine (in a UITableViewController). But in this example the hole code is in a UIView. The reason, on this way it is possible to create non full-size tableviews and instanzes of tableviews. Much better for a clear Viewcontroller. I know that an UIView has no method like this reloadData but it is necessary.
Near the code end you can see the problem line. And for this last step i have no idea how i can solve this. [self.tableView reloadData];
